Applications of Cardic Troponin T and Cardic Troponin I in Diagnosing Viral Myocarditis

Abstract:Objective To investigate the utility of cardiac troponin T(cTnT)and cardiac troponin I(cTnI)in diagnosing viral myocarditis(VMC).Methods To constantly monitoring 78 VMC patients for 1,2,3 weeks and 2 months after their admission. And to compare their cTnT and cTnI results with their various biochemical items,such as creatine kinase(CK),creatine kinase MB (CK-MB),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),α-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase(α-HBDH).Re- suits In acute VMI patients,all the positive rate of cTnT(73.8%) and cTnI(66.7%)were much higher than those other bio- chemical items:CK 47.44%,CK-MB 51.28%,AST 42.31%,LDH 42.31%,α-HBDH 44.87 %.The normal ECG in cTnT and cTnI positive group were much lower than that in the negative group(P0.05).Conclusion cTnT and cTnI can be used as useful alternatives to the mostly used biochemical items for diagnosing the acute VMI.Moreover,these two items can also play important role in observing the later development since the outset of VMC.
