Abstract:Nowadays, the discussion of library smart service in academic circles mostly stays at the stage of putting forward concepts, and there are various different opinions. The research uses the methods of literature review as well as content analysis to sort out the core academic theory of library smart service in 66 academic papers and excavates the core elements of library smart service and their relationship through the way of framework construction. Finally, follow the framework of "Smart City - Smart Library - Smart Service - User" and under the core of "information technology + multi-service perspective", this research integrates five integrated elements including macro background layer, related factors layer, technology equipment layer, service creating layer and service providing layer, into the theoretical framework of core elements of library smart service.

Abstract:The popularization and application of ChatGPT intelligent dialogue tools provide more possibilities and options for library knowledge service intelligence. With the help of GPT technology, libraries can embed digital avatars in the library service system, utilize intelligent tools to generate cross-modal functions between text, images, and videos, establish associations and clustering between collection data, and upgrade knowledge services. SWOT analysis is a common business strategy tool that helps organizations understand their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. This paper adopts SWOT analysis to analyze in detail the four aspects of the library in the context of the application of ChatGPT-like intelligent conversation tools, and puts forward the corresponding development proposals. ChatGPT can bring many advantages in library applications, including improving service efficiency, increasing librarians' productivity, and providing personalized services. With the continuous development and application of technology, the application of ChatGPT in the library field will also be expanded and deepened. However, it should also be seen that due to the limitations of ChatGPT's own technology and the defects of the database used for training, the application of intelligent dialog software will inevitably have certain difficulties and information security problems. Libraries need to provide high-quality text, big data and corpus for AI applications on a safe and controllable basis. With the help of intelligent dialog software, the transition to intelligent libraries can be accelerated.

Abstract:The development of network technology and the popularization of mobile intelligent terminals make mobile visual search a reality. Mobile visual search for library resources has attracted the attention of the academia and the industry. Based on introduction of mobile visual search projects in different libraries, we conclude five obstacles of mobile visual search application in library service, such as technical support, organizational structure, case learning, financial support and service mode. We also put forward some countermeasures to promote mobile visual search service in libraries.

Abstract:Internet of Things (IoT) is being widely developed in various fields, and its penetration rate in daily life is continuously increasing. The nature of the social function of objects and giving them an identity has made it possible to successfully integrate this technology into many traditional systems and improve their performance by automation. Libraries are one of the most obvious examples of smartening by IoT architecture. So far, various architectures have been presented for smartening libraries through IoT technology. However, a low-cost and ideal architecture that can cover all the requirements in a wide range of smart library applications has not been provided. This article attempts to fill some of the existing research gaps in this field by presenting a new architecture for smartening libraries. In the proposed method, Software Defined Networking (SDN) is used to reduce implementation costs and improve the management process of network components. In this architecture, the communication platform of network active objects is formed based on a cluster-based topology. Also, passive Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) tags are utilized to manage books and library property. Two stages of evaluation have been conducted for the suggested method's performance: actual deployment and computer simulations. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that this study has succeeded in creating an effective and affordable design for smart libraries, which is a major advancement over conventional libraries.

Abstract:[Purpose/significance] The advent of the big data era has driven the transformation and upgrading of library reference service model.How to build a smart reference service model from the perspective of “multi-source data-driven” is crucial to the realization of smart library services.[Method/process] The article identifies the similarities and differences between traditional reference advisory services, digital reference advisory services and intelligent reference advisory services.The value of data-driven for reference advisory services is elaborated.The smart reference service model is discussed as consisting of 3 stages: smart perception of user needs, smart advisory service and intelligent push service for users.The optimization of the smart reference service process is realized.The feasibility of this service model is verified by the application example of Nanjing University Library.[Result/conclusion] Strategies and recommendations for the implementation of the smart reference service model are presented.By effectively integrating data, technology and services, this model helps to improve the level and quality of smart reference services in libraries, with a view to providing new ideas and methods for the transformation and upgrading of library reference services.

Abstract:Purpose Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the emerging technologies of this time. AI is a widely used technology in library services that can transform the best services in the age of information technology. This paper aims to highlight the use of AI in library operations. Several research has been undertaken on this subject, but that only address a few applications. AI and libraries have a substantial nexus; nevertheless, the use and awareness of AI in library services are still creating question marks addressed in this paper. This study will help the policy stakeholder, librarians and scholars in the field to address these issues before the deployment of AI in library services. Design/methodology/approach This study is based on a qualitative method using content analysis techniques. An extensive review of literature on "artificial intelligence", "smart libraries" was carried to ascertain the emerging technologies in the smart library domain. Literature was searched against various keywords like artificial intelligence, smart technologies, Internet of Things, electronic resource management, data mining and ambient intelligence. This study highlights the pros and cons of AI in library services and its possible solutions. Findings The findings of this study show that AI is a vibrant technology that can be used in library services; however, some obstacles like adequate funds, the attitude of librarians and technical skills are a few obstacles that hamper AI in library operations. The findings also reveal that using AI in library operations will accelerate libraries in the right direction. Furthermore, this study highlights various applications that can be deployed without spending costs. Practical implications This paper may be of interest to academic, librarians, policymakers, researchers and the government to have a perspective on initiatives in the country on application of technology in library services. This study can introduce the current status and potential of this technology to bring the technology revolution in library and information center services. Social implications This study will motivate library professionals to take advantage of AI in library services and further accelerate library operations in the right direction. Originality/value This study covers the understanding of AI in library services that will help the librarian's and information professionals leverage AI in library scenarios. Furthermore, the practical implication of AI in library services will bring positive change in implementing AI.

Abstract:With the continuous deepening of the concept of intelligent service, the insecurity factor of library users’ privacy data those are leaked is increasing. Under the background of the fusion of technology application and concept innovation, establishing a set of user privacy protection mechanism to balance the use of library data and the protection of user privacy in order to facilitate the construction of library service. Implementing the design of user privacy protection mechanism from three levels of macro background, core elements and service supervision by reviewing the existing literature resources, introducing data life cycle model, and setting up the model of potential threats constitution for library user privacy. Abstract:With the widespread application of big data, library services play an important role in college education and talent training, but there are also some problems. This article mainly explores the service mode of university libraries under the current big data background. First, it discusses the current situation and shortcomings of library services in the big database environment from the perspectives of document retrieval and information resource management; finally, a new service model for university readers based on the era of big data is proposed: establishing a library service quality management platform and using big data technology to improve personalized service. In addition, this article investigates the specific situation of the library service quality of a university through experiments, analyzes the reader’s evaluation of various aspects of library services, analyzes the qualification and excellence of library services, and finds that the service quality of the library is at a low level, and it is urgent to improve the service level.

Abstract:Even though most universities in China have successively introduced digital resources, traditional paper-based resources still share major percentage in the whole library resources. In the current library management schemes, the information of the resource requirement and usage record is not utilized effectively either in resource purchase decision or in resource allocation plan. Furthermore, there is no efficient approach proposed to utilize the advanced information technologies in library management. In this paper, we firstly analyze the patterns of the current library services in Chinese universities and points out some problems existing in the current resource management systems. We then propose several approaches attempting to improve user satisfactory and resource utilization by considering customer behavior and requirement information.
