Abstract:Huizhou had been one of the model areas of traditional academic culture during the period from 12th to 18th century. The study on traditional academic cultural geography of Huizhou area differs from academic researches.The main difference shows their different perspectives on and solutions to problems, thus the academic values and theoretical significances are also presented.A discussion on traditional academic culture of Huizhou area from a spatial perspective focuses on the formation and transformation of the cultural area, the historical changes, the regional characteristics,the aerial diffusion and influence of the traditional academic culture, and traditional academic cultural heritage in Huizhou. The research on traditional academic cultural geography of Huizhou area should pay attention to the difference between academic cultural geography and academic history, the definition of chronological and spatial scope of the traditional academic culture, and the combination of literature and documents.
