Abstract:An efficient and chemoselective deprotection protocol for aryl silyl ethers using LiOAc as a bifunctional Lewis acid-Lewis base catalyst was described. Acetates, epoxides, and aliphatic silyl ethers were preserved, whereas aryl TBS and TBDPS ethers can be differentiated.

Abstract:An efficient, chemoselective, and environment-friendly method for the deprotection of tert-butyldiphenylsilyl ethers mediated by triflic acid supported on silica gel is reported. A wide range of tert-butyldiphenylsilyl ethers derived from carbohydrate and saponin residues can be smoothly cleaved in the presence of various types of other protecting groups in good to excellent yields in acetonitrile. This heterogeneous reaction does not require aqueous workup, and the supported catalyst can be readily recycled.

Abstract:The iron-catalyzed highly Markovnikovtype selective and enantioselective hydrosilylation of terminal aliphatic alkenes with good functional group tolerance is developed. This operationally simple protocol uses earth-abundant transition metal catalyst, readily available aliphatic alkenes and hydrosilanes to construct valuable chiral organosilanes with better than 99% ee in most cases. The chiral aliphatic alkan-2-ol and chiral dihydroxysilane as an analogue of ketone could be efficiently synthesized via further derivatization of chiral organosilanes without any racemization.

Abstract:An efficient approach for the reversal of regioselectivity in the nucleophilic introduction of difluorinated carbanion into α,β-enones has been developed via a silylium catalysis. The strong electron-withdrawing properties and bulky substituents of in situ-generated silyl triflic imide catalyst is the key for the 1,4-addition reaction to proceed smoothly. The synthetic utility is highlighted by the further use of this method for the synthesis of 2,4,6-triarylsubstituted 3-fluoropyridines in a one-pot manner.

Abstract:A practical method for the debenzylation of aryl benzyl ethers has been developed using easy-to-operate I 2 and Et 3 SiH, as well as the green solvent ethyl acetate. Halo, methoxy, ester, and nitro groups on the benzene ring of the aryl benzyl ether are compatible with this debenzylation. Control experiments revealed that Et 3 SiI, generated in situ, might be the actual promoter of the procedure. This method does not require a separate desilylation reaction to obtain phenol products. Abstract:Comprehensive Summary Silyl enol ethers are often obtained when the lithium enolates are trapped with chlorosilanes. Herein, we report a general method for the regio‐ and diasteroselective C ‐silylation of enolate enabled by the β‐boronyl group. The formation of five‐membered chelation intermediate is key to the C ‐selective silylation and anti ‐selectivity. The operationally simple protocol provides a general and predictable access to the α ‐silylated esters. The synthetic versatility of the boron–silicon bifunctional products was demonstrated by down‐stream transformations.

Abstract:A novel method for the organocatalytic syn diacetoxylation of alkenes has been developed using aryl iodides as efficient catalysts. A broad range of substrates, including electron-rich as well as electron-deficient alkenes, are smoothly transformed by the new procedure, furnishing the desired products in good to excellent yields with high diastereoselectivity (up to >19:1 dr).

Abstract:An organo-photocatalyzed approach for the chemoselective dealkylation and de-esterification of phenols is developed by employing trimethyl silyl chloride as the C‒O bond activator and 9-Mes-10-MeAcr+ClO4‒ as the photoredox catalyst. This method demonstrates an exceptional selectivity towards the cleavage of phenolic ethers and esters over equivalent aliphatic scaffolds, presenting a broad range of functional group sustainability. This strategy also enables selective debenzylation of phenols in the presence of reduction-sensitive functional groups. The photocatalytic efficiency was further extrapolated in the fragmentation of lignin models and synthetic modification in manufacturing a FLAP inhibitor. Mechanistic studies, photophysical experiments and computations provide evidence for the involvement of an oxonium intermediate, generated through the photo-oxidation of the arene ring, which ultimately leads to the selective disintegration of C‒O bond, facilitated by the oxophilicity of silicon.

Abstract:An efficient and mild catalytic deallylation method of aryl allyl ethers is developed, with commercially available Ni(COD)2 as catalyst precursor, simple substituted bipyridine as ligand and air-stable hydrosilanes. The process is compatible with a variety of functional groups and the desired phenol products can be obtained with excellent yields and selectivity. Abstract:An electrochemical method for the decarboxylative silylation of α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acids was developed. A variety of alkenylsilanes could be obtained in satisfactory yields and excellent selectivities under external oxidant- and metal-free conditions. Abstract:A copper-catalyzed highly regio- and stereoselective silaboration of alkynes was developed. In this work, direct cis-difunctionalization of alkynes was realized with silaboronate reagent and copper catalyst in aprotic solvents. The regiodivergent silaborations were controlled by tuning the copper catalysts and phosphine ligands used in reactions. This protocol provides an efficient and practical method to synthesize the multisubstituted functionalized alkenes with specific stereoselectivity.

Abstract:We report a highly enantioselective intermolecular C−H bond silylation catalyzed by a phosphoramidite-ligated iridium catalyst. Under reagent-controlled protocols, propargylsilanes resulting from C(sp3)−H functionalization, as well the regioisomeric and synthetically versatile allenylsilanes, could be obtained with excellent levels of enantioselectivity and good to excellent control of propargyl/allenyl selectivity. In the case of unsymmetrical dialkyl acetylenes, good to excellent selectivity for functionalization at the less-hindered site was also observed. A variety of electrophilic silyl sources (R3SiOTf and R3SiNTf2), either commercial or in situ-generated, were used as the silylation reagents, and a broad range of simple and functionalized alkynes, including aryl alkyl acetylenes, dialkyl acetylenes, 1,3-enynes, and drug derivatives were successfully employed as substrates. Detailed mechanistic experiments and DFT calculations suggest that an η3-propargyl/allenyl Ir intermediate is generated upon π-complexation-assisted deprotonation and undergoes outer-sphere attack by the electrophilic silylating reagent to give propargylic silanes, with the latter step identified as the enantiodetermining step.

Abstract:The synthesis of chiral organosilicon compounds is high;y appealing due to their wide and important applications in synthetic chemistry and medicinal science. However, catalytic asymmetric disilylation are surprisingly under-represented because of the lack of enantioselective methods in the stereoselective control of silyl group transformations. Here an asymmetric palladium-catalyzed disilylation of ether-tethered aryl iodide contained a styrene moiety through Heck/C-H activation sequence was explored for the first time. Upon high-throughput screening of TADDOL-derived phosphoramidites, it was found that L18 is a good match in combination with Pd(dtbpf)Cl 2 in the tandem Heck/C-H activation of aryl iodide with hexamethyldisilane to afford disilylated 2.3-dihydrobenzofunan derivatives in good yields with moderated enantioselective.

Abstract:A general and efficient one-step procedure has been developed for the synthesis of biaryl ethers via direct coupling of electron-deficient arylhalides or aryl triflates to aryl t-butyldimethyl-silyl (TBS) ethers using Cs2CO3. The protocol was also applied to electron-rich arylhalides by addition of a catalytic amount of copper(I) iodide. The reaction is rapid and provides good to excellent yields.
