Abstract:The title compound, ((C772445762223], is composed of CdII-containing complex anions and benzimidazolium (HBZIM) cations. The CdII atom is coordinated by a tridentate oxydiacetate (ODA) dianion, a chloride anion and two benzimidazole (BZIM) molecules, forming a distorted octahedral CdNCl)-Cl-H-Cl-N-Cl-)[Cd(C-Cl-H-Cl-O-Cl-)Cl(C-Cl-H-Cl-N-Cl-)-Cl-O coordination geometry. The ODA dianion chelates facially to the CdII atom. The face-to-face distances of 3.444 (12) and 3.386 (5) between partially overlapped BZIM rings and between HBZIM rings, respectively, indicate the existence of p - p stacking in the crystal structure.

Abstract:In the title compound, [Cd(C7H5O3)2(C12H8N2)2]·2H2O, the CdII ion is located on a twofold axis and assumes a distorted octahedral CdN4O2 coordination geometry, formed by two phenanthroline (phen) ligands and two 4-hydroxybenzoate (HBA) anions. π–π stacking is observed between the parallel phen ligands of adjacent CdII complexes. Abstract:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cd(C(7)H(5)O(4))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)]·1.25H(2)O, the Cd(2+) cation is coordinated by two phenanthroline (phen) mol-ecules and two 2,5-dihydroxy-benzoate (dhba) anions in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The centroid-centroid distances of 3.809 (2) and 3.680 (2) Å between nearly parallel pyridine rings of the phen ligands and the benzene rings of dhba anions indicate that the dhba anions are involved in π-π stacking in the crystal structure. The face-to-face separation of 3.35 (3) Å between parallel phen ring systems also suggests π-π stacking between adjacent complex mol-ecules. The crystal structure contains extensive O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding.

Abstract:In the title compound, [Cd(C7H5O3)2(C7H6N2)2]·H2O, the CdII ion is surrounded by two salicylate anions and two benzimidazole molecules in a strongly distorted octahedral cis-CdN2O4 geometry. The partially overlapped arrangement and the face-to-face distances of 3.22 (3) and 3.34 (2) A suggest π–π stacking between the benzimidazole ligands of neighbouring molecules.

Abstract:In the title centrosymmetric dimeric Cd(II) complex, [Cd(2)(C(7)H(5)O(4))(4)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the Cd(II) cation is coord-inated by a bidentate phenanthroline (phen) ligand, three dihy-droxy-benzoate (dhba) anions and one water mol-ecule in a distorted CdN(2)O(4) octa-hedral geometry. Among the dhba anions, two anions bridge two Cd(II) cations to form the dimeric complex with significant different Cd-O bond distances of 2.2215 (19) and 2.406 (2) Å. The centroid-centroid distance of 3.4615 (19) Å between two nearly parallel benzene rings of the dhba and phen ligands coordinating to the same Cd(II) cation indicates the existence of intra-molecular π-π stacking in the complex. Extensive O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding and inter-molecular weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding help to stabilize the crystal structure. One hy-droxy group of the monodentate dhba ligand is disordered over two sites with a site-occupancy ratio of 0.9:0.1.

The asymmetric unit contains two Cd complex units, and both Cd(II) atoms have the same distorted octahedral coordination geometry. Each phthalate dianion bridges two Cd atoms through the two terminal carboxy groups, one in a monodentate fashion and the other in a chelating mode, thus forming zigzag polymeric chains; pi-pi stacking occurs between neighboring chains. The bond angle involving the chelating carboxy group is large, but the corresponding bond distance is normal. This implies the existence of an electrostatic interaction between the Cd(II) atoms and the carboxy groups.

Abstract:In the title complex, [Cd(C13H8N5)2(C2H5OH)2], the CdII cation is located on an inversion center and coordinated by two deprotonated 2-(1H-benzotriazol-1-yl)-1H-benzimidazol-1-ide (L) ligands and two ethanol molecules in a distorted N4O2 octahedral geometry. In the L ligand, the dihedral angle between benzoimidazole and benzotriazole ring systems is 10.8 (3)°. In the crystal, the complex molecules are connected by O—H⋯N hydrogen bonds; intermolecular π–π stacking is also observed [centroid–centroid distances of 3.668 (5) Å between triazole and benzene rings and 3.780 (5) Å between imidazole rings].

Abstract:In the title compound, [Cd(C27H31N3)Cl2]·CH3CN, the coordination geometry around the five-coordinated CdII atom can be described as distorted trigonal–bipyramidal, formed by two Cl atoms, one pyridine N and two imine N atoms from the bis(iminoalkyl)pyridine ligand. The dihedral angles between the substituted phenyl rings and the plane formed by the three coordinated N atoms are 90.6 (1) and 86.0 (1)°. C—H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the molecules into a three-dimensional supramolecular network.
