Effect of Combined Use of Organic and Inorganic Nitrogen Fertilizer on Rice Yield and Nitrogen Use Efficiency

Abstract:A field experiment was conducted in the southern part of Jiangsu Provinces,China,to investigate the changes of soil nitrogen,nitrogen absorption and accumulation in rice,grain yield and nitrogen use efficiency of rice.No fertilization was set as control(CK) and 100% organic nitrogen,half organic and half inorganic nitrogen,25% organic with 75% inorganic nitrogen,and 100% inorganic nitrogen were the treatments.Compared with CK,nitrogen fertilizer treatments notably improved the supply of soil mineral nitrogen and rice growth.Grain yield of rice applied with organic nitrogen alone was increased,but still lower than those of rice applied with inorganic nitrogen alone or combination of inorganic and organic nitrogen.25% organic nitrogen with 75% inorganic nitrogen application led to higher rice grain yield and nitrogen use efficiency.
