Extraction and Identification of the Polysaccharides from the Leaves of Ilex kudincha C.J.Tseng

Abstract:The crude polysaccharide KPSⅠ was obtained from the leaves of Ilex kudincha C.J.Tseng by defatting with 95 % EtOH,extracting with water and precipitating with 80 % EtOH.The KPSⅡ was obtained from the KPSⅠ by deproteining for three times by Sevag method.The results of the characteristic reactions and chemical analysis with UV and IR spectroscopy indicated that KPSⅠ and KPSⅡ were both polysaccharides.The contents of the polysaccharides in KPSⅠ and KPSⅡ were 40.77 % and 39.10 %,respectively.The contents of the protein in KPSⅠ and KPSⅡ were 6.43 % and 5.16 %,respectively.
