A Study on Urban Residential Segregation in Xi'an Based on Consumer Housing Preference

Abstract:This paper conducts a comparative study on the economic performance modes between Shaanxi and Zhejiang with VAR Granger causality test and Impulse Response Function test. The results show that the economic growth in Shaanxi Province is mainly driven by government dominated investment while that in Zhejiang Province by private investment. We then propose that the market domination would be effective way to bridge that West-East gap.
