Surgical treatment of liver tumor in childhood

Abstract:Objective To investigate the diagnosis and treatment of liver tumor in children. Methods Among 23 cases,21 cases underwent resection. Results Benign tumors were in 10 cases and malignant tumors in 11 cases. AH patients were followed up for 0. 5 - 3 years. Two cases died during the follow-up. Three year survival rate in benign tumor was 100% ( 10/10) and 82% (9/11 ) in malignant tumor. Conclusions Most malignant liver tumors were embryonal in children. Combination therapy of surgery and chemotherapy improves the prognosis. Prognosis of benign tumors after total resection is satisfactory.
