Abstract:The crystal structure of the title compound, C6H8N4S22+.-2C(6)H(7)N(4)S(2)(+.)4C(7)H(4)NO(4)(-), comprises diprotonated diaminobithiazole (DABT) dications located on inversion centers, monoprotonated DABT cations and nitrobenzoate anions. The relatively short C - N( amino) bond distances, ranging from 1.310 (2) to 1.350 (2) angstrom, indicate electron delocalization between the amino groups and thiazole rings. Intermolecular N - H (...) O and N - H (...) N hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal packing.

Abstract:The title compound, [Sr(C(7)H(5)O(4))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)].2C(12)H(8)N(2).4H(2)O, consists of an Sr(II) complex, uncoordinated phenanthroline (phen) molecules and solvent water molecules. The Sr(II) ion is located on a twofold axis and is coordinated by two phen ligands, two dihydroxybenzoate anions and two water molecules in a distorted tetragonal antiprismatic geometry. Partially overlapped arrangements exist between parallel coordinated and parallel uncoordinated phen rings; the face-to-face separations between the former (coordinated) and the latter (uncoordinated) rings are 3.436 (13) and 3.550 (14) A, respectively. This difference suggests the effect of metal coordination on pi-pi stacking between phen rings.

Abstract:Crystals of the title chiral compound, C6H8N4S22+.C4H4O62-, were obtained from a solution containing diaminobithiazole (DABT) and racentic tartaric acid. The crystal structure consists of a protonated DABT dications (H(2)DABT) and (2R,3R)-tartrate dianions linked via hydrogen bonding. An overlapped arrangement and a centroid-to-centroid separation of 3.4620 (11) Angstrom between nearly parallel thiazole rings of adjacent H(2)DABT cations indicate the existence of pi-pi stacking in the crystal structure.

Abstract:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Pb2(C4H5NO4)2(C6H6N4S2)2]·4H2O, the dinuclear PbII complex molecule is centrosymmetric. The Pb atom is chelated by a tridentate iminodiacetate anion (IDA) and a diaminobithiazole (DABT) ligand, while a carboxylate O atom from an adjacent IDA anion further bridges the Pb atom with a longer Pb—O bond [2.892 (3) Å]. The lone-pair electrons of the Pb atom occupy an axial site in the Ψ-pentagonal-bipyramidal coordination polyhedron. The IDA anion displays a facial configuration: its chelating five-membered rings assume an envelope configuration. Within the DABT ligand, the two thiazole rings are twisted relative to each other, making a dihedral angle of 9.51 (17)°. Extensive N—H...O, O—H...O and weak C—H...O hydrogen bonding helps to stabilize the crystal structure.

Abstract:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Co(C6H6N4S2)(2)Cl-2].2H(2)O, comprises an octahedral Co-II complex and water of crystallization. Two Cl atoms and two diaminobithiazole (DABT) ligands coordinate to the Co-II atom in a cis configuration. The overlapped arrangement and the short separation of 3.46 (2) Angstrom between parallel DABT rings suggest the existence of pi-pi stacking interactions. Abstract:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Zn(C6H4NO2)(C6H6N4S2)(H2O)(3)](2)(C6H4NO2)(2)center dot[Zn(C6H4NO2)(2)(C6H6N4S2)(H2O)(2)]center dot 4H(2)O, consists of four discrete components. In the neutral complex the Zn ion is located on a crystallographic twofold axis. The two thiazole rings of the diaminobithiazole ligand are twisted with respect to each other [dihedral angle = 13.85 (9)degrees] in the neutral complex but are coplanar [dihedral angle = 3.54 (15)degrees] in the cationic complex. pi-pi stacking is observed between nearly parallel pyridine rings.

Abstract:Crystals of the title compound, C15H13ClN4O6, were obtained from a condensation reaction of 2-chloro-3,4-dimethoxybenzaldehyde and 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine. Within the dinitrophenyl group, the distances of 1.413 (3) and 1.405 (3) Angstrom for the C-C bonds close to the imino group are appreciably longer than the average distance of 1.372 (4) Angstrom for other aromatic C-C bonds in the same benzene ring. The benzene rings in the molecule are nearly coplanar, and the overlapped arrangement of benzene rings of neighboring molecules shows the existence of a pi-pi stacking interaction.

The tridentate oxydiacetate dianion meridionally chelates a Co atom, and both five-membered chelate rings assume an envelope conformation. Diaminobithiazole chelates the Co atom, in a planar configuration. Parallel thiazole rings of neighboring complex molecules are separated by 3.504 (5) Angstrom, suggesting the existence of pi-pi stacking interactions.
