Abstract:[Objective] To investigate the efficacy of acupuncture in combination with point injection for treatment of apoplec-tichemiplegia.[Method] Ninety-eight patients with apoplectichemiplegia were randomly divided into two groups, treatment Group A of 60 cases(acupuncture plus point injection) and control group B of 38 cases(acupuncture).The curative effects and nervous function deficit were evaluated.[Results] The total effective rate was 96.7% in the treatment group and 84.2% in the control group.There was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).There was a significant difference in nervous function deficits core between pretreatment and post-treatment(P<0.01) and between the groups(P<0.05).[Conclusion] Acupuncture in combination with point injection has an exact effect on apoplectichemiplegia.
[Clinical research of primary trigeminal neuralgia treated with electroacupuncture at qi streets acupoints combined with spinal regulation therapy]

Abstract:Objective: To compare the difference in the clinical efficacy on primary trigeminal neuralgia (PTN) between the comprehensive therapy of electroacupuncture (EA) at qi streets acupoints combined with spinal regulation method and medication with carbamazepine (CBZ). Methods: Sixty patients were randomized into a comprehensive therapy group (30 cases) and a medication group (30 cases). In the comprehensive therapy group, the acupoints at qi streets on the head such as Taiyang (EX-HN 5) and Sishencong (EX-HN 1) and those at qi streets on the chest and abdomen such as Shenshu (BL 23), Zhongwan (CV 12) and Guanyuan (CV 4), etc. were selected. After arrival of qi, EA was attached on 2 to 4 groups of acupoints. After acupuncture, the spinal regulation method was applied. This comprehensive therapy was given once a day. In the medication group, CBZ was used for oral administration, 100 mg at the first time, twice a day, and 400 to 600 mg each day as the maintenance dose. Separately, before and after treatment, in 2 and 6 months in follow-up, pain rating index (PRI), life satisfaction index B (LSI-B) and hamilton depression scale (HAMD) were adopted to evaluate comprehensively the clinical efficacy in the two groups and compare the adverse reaction during the treatment between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the curative and markedly effective rate in the comprehensive therapy group was 76.7% (23/30), which was better than 63.3% (19/30) in the medication group (P < 0.01). The difference in PRI was not significant after treatment between the two groups (all P > 0.05). In 2 and 6 months follow-up, PRI grade in the comprehensive therapy group was superior to that of the medication group (both P<0. 05). After treatment and in follow-up, HAMD score was all reduced in the two groups (P < 0.01, P < 0.05) and the result in follow-up in the comprehensive therapy group was significant as compared with that in the medication group (all P<0. 05). After treatment, LSI-B score was increased obviously in the two groups (all P < 0.05) and the result in the comprehensive therapy group was better than that in the medication group (P < 0.05). The incidence of adverse reaction in the comprehensive therapy group was 16.7% (5/30), which was lower than 30.0% (9/30, P < 0.01) in the medication group. Conclusion: The comprehensive therapy of EA at qi streets acpoints combined with spinal regulation method achieves the long-term efficacy on PTN as compared with oral administration of CBZ in terms of the improvement of psychological condition, analgesia and life quality. It is the safe, effective and stable therapy.

Abstract:Objective: To observe the clinical effect of guasha-fangsha (scrapping and bleeding) therapy combined with electroacupuncture (EA) on greater occipital neuralgia. Methods: Ninety patients with greater occipital neuralgia were randomly divided into an observation group (45 cases) and a control group (45 cases, 2 cases dropped out). In the control group, EA was delivered at Fengfu (GV 16) and bilateral Tianzhu (BL 10), Fengchi (GB 20), Wangu (GB 12), Yuzhen (BL 9) and Houxi (SI 3), with disperse-dense wave, at 2 Hz/100 Hz in frequency and 2 mA to 6 mA in intensity, for 30 min in each intervention, once every other days, 3 times a week. In the observation group, on the basis of the intervention as the control group, guasha-fangsha therapy was used along the distribution of the bladder meridian of foot-taiyang on the occipital region and that of the gallbladder meridian of foot-shaoyang on the lateral side of the head, once weekly. The duration of treatment was 3 weeks in the two groups. In the two groups, before treatment, after 1, 2 and 3 weeks of treatment and in follow-up visit after 3 weeks of treatment completion, the score of visual analogue scale (VAS) was observed; before and after treatment, as well as in follow-up visit after 3 weeks of treatment completion, the scores of self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), self-rating depression scale (SDS) and 36-item short-form health survey (SF-36) were observed; after treatment and in follow-up visit after 3 weeks of treatment completion, the clinical efficacy was evaluated. Results: After one week of treatment, the VAS score in the observation group decreased when compared with that before treatment (P<0.05), while the scores in 2 and 3 weeks of treatment and in follow-up visit after 3 weeks of treatment completion were lower than those before treatment in the two groups (P<0.05) separately. At each time point after treatment, the VAS scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment and during the follow-up visit, the scores of SAS and SDS decreased when compared with those before treatment in the two groups (P<0.05), and the scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05); the scores of each item in SF-36 were elevated in comparison with those before treatment in the two groups (P<0.05), and the scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was 91.1% (41/45), higher than that (76.7%, 33/43) of the control group (P<0.05). In follow-up visit, the total effective rate of the observation group was 91.1% (41/45), which was higher than 72.1% (31/43) of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Guasha-fangsha therapy combined with electroacupuncture can effectively relieve greater occipital neuralgia, alleviate pain severity, ameliorate anxiety and depression and improve the quality of life in the patients.

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the clinical curative effect of acupuncture and Chinese medicine fumigation treatments for facial neuritis.Methods From January 2010 to December 2011,64 patients with facial neuritis were randomly allocated into treatment group and control group,with 32 cases in each group.During the 7-day-treatment,the patients in the treatment group were treated with combined electro acupuncture and Chinese medicine fumigation treatments,while the patients in the control group were treated by acupuncture alone.After two courses of treatment,the clinical curative effect was compared on facial nerve function(House-Brackmann evaluation system,referred to as HB) and the degree of facial paralysis between the two groups.Results After two courses of treatment,the grading level of HB of the treatment group was significantly superior to that of the control group(P<0.05);the degree of facial paralysis of the treatment group was significantly superior to that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Combined acupuncture and Chinese medicine fumigation treatments can obtain better curative effect than acupuncture alone for facial neuritis.

Abstract:Objective:To observe the efectiveness and safety in the treatment of primary trigeminal neuralgia(PTN) by acupuncture on spheno-palatine ganglion(SPG) and nervous foramen of all branches of the trigeminal nerve.Methods:The patients were selected with hyperactivity of the liver-yang primary trigeminal neuralgia(PTN)(n=33).The points were Xiaguan,Cuanzhu,Sibai,Jiachengjiang with deep-needling to SPG,supraorbital foramen,infraorbital foramen,mental foramen.Remote auxiliary points were double sides of Hegu and Taichong.The treatment with electric needle was 20 times in 2 therapeutic courses.The efectiveness and adverse reactions of patients were observed.Results:After 20 times,the improvement(WAS evaluation) of all indexes duration of pain,frequency of pain,intensity of pain had statistical diference(P<0.01) compared with those before treatment.The total efective rate was 93.7%,and no adverse reactions happened.Conclusion:The therapy of PTN with deep electric needle on SPG had obvious curative efect,safety and reliability.
[Clinical observation on acupuncture combined with medication for intractable angina pectoris]

Abstract:Objective: To compare clinical effects of acupuncture combined with medication and simple medication on intractable angina pectoris (IAP). Methods: Seventy cases of IAP were randomly divided into two groups, a control group and a treatment group, 35 cases in each group. The control group were treated with nitric acid ester, beta-receptor blocking agent, calcium antagonist, aspirin and hypo-molecular heparin, and the treatment group were treated with acupuncture at Danzhong (CV 17) and Neiguan (PC 6) and others, once daily for 10 consecutive days on the basis of the above treatment. Results: The total effective rates for symptoms and electrocardiogram were 88.6% and 62.9% in the treatment group and 60.0% and 31.4% in the control group, respectively, with a significant difference between the two groups; the incidence of acute heart attack and sudden death of 5.7% in the treatment group was lower than 20.0% in the control group, with no serious adverse effect. Conclusion: Acupuncture combined with medication is safe and effective for intractable angina pectoris and it can improve short-term prognosis.

Abstract:Objective To systematically assess the efficacy and safety of electroacupuncture for trigeminal neuralgia. Method Randomized controlled trials of a electroacupuncture treatment for trigeminal neuralgia were sought by a computer search of CNKI,Wan Fang Data,VIP,CBM,PubMed,EMbas and The Cochrane Library.The retrieval time limit was from March 1996 to March 2016. Two reviewers sifted the literature and extracted data independently according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria andthen assessed the riskofbias of the included literatureusing the Cochrane risk of bias assessment tool.Ameta-analysis was made using RevMan 5.3.Result Finally, 12 articles were included with atotal of 847 subjects.The results ofmeta-analysis showed that the total efficacy rate was higher in the electroacupuncture group than in the control group [OR=4.04,95%CI(2.67, 6.13),P<0.00001].There were no statistically significant differences in the VAS score [MD=﹣0.06,95%CI(﹣0.59, 0.47),P=0.82] and the recurrence rate [OR=0.64,95%CI(0.05,7.45),P=0.54] between the electroacupuncture and control groups.Conclusion The currentlimited evidenceshows that the total efficacy rate fortrigeminal neuralgiais higher in the electroacupuncture group than in the control group.There are no statistically significant differences in the VAS score and the recurrence rate of trigeminal neuralgia between the electroacupuncture and control groups of patients.But the conclusions need more high-qualitytrials for validation owing to the limitation of the sample size of the included studies.
[Effect of different needle retaining times of electroacupuncture on trigeminal neuralgia]

Abstract:Objective: To observe the different effect of different needle retaining times of electroacupuncture on tri geminal neuralgia. Methods: Fifty-two cases were randomly divided into an observation group (26 cases) and a control group (26 cases). Electroacupuncture at four pairs of acupoints including Xiaguan (ST 7) and Dicang (ST 4), Jiache (ST 6) and Chengjiang (CV 24), Sibai (ST 2) and Yingxiang (LI 20) and acupoints selected according to differentiation were used in both groups. The needle-retaining time of every pair of acupoints was 30 min (120 min together) in observation group, and that was 10 min (40 min together) in control group. The treatment frequency was once a day. The effect was evaluated after 4 weeks. Results: The cured rate of observation group (84.6%, 22/26) was better than that of control group (34.6%, 9/26) (P < 0.01), and the total effective rate of the former (100.0%, 26/26) was also better than that of the latter (80.8%, 21/26) (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The effect of needle-retaining time for 30 min at every pair of acupoints is better than that for 10 min in electroacupuncture on trigeminal neuralgia.
Clinical Study of Diabetic Neurogenic Bladder Treated by Electro-Acupuncture Nerve Stimulation

Abstract:Objective: To assess the clinical effect of electro-acupuncture nerve stimulation for diabetic neurogenic bladder. Methods: 46 patients with diabetic neurogenic bladder were randomly divided into the observation group (n = 23) and the control group (n = 23). The observation group was treated by electro-acupuncture nerve stimulation therapy (four points around sacrum); the control group was treated by traditional acupuncture (CV3, CV4, BL28, and BL32). The treatment was 45min/time, three times/day, 24 times in total. The clinical symptom scores, residual urine scores and urinary dynamics were used as observation indices. Results:The clinical symptom scores of the observation group was (10. 83 ± 5. 56), which was significantly lower than (17. 83 ± 5. 93) of the control group (P ＜ 0. 05). The residual urine scores of the observation group was (80. 38 ± 24. 91), which was significantly lower than (150. 63 ± 49. 93) of the control group (P ＜ 0. 05).There was also significant difference between the two groups in terms of urinary dynamics (P ＜ 0. 05). The clinical effective rate was 73. 91％ in the observation group, which was significantly higher than 34. 78％ in the control group (P ＜ 0. 01). Conclusion: Electro-acupuncture nerve stimulation can effectively adjust urine storage and urination in the treatment of diabetic neurogenic bladder, it can also improve the life quality of the patients.
Electroacupuncture therapy for change of pain in classical trigeminal neuralgia

Abstract:Introduction: Classical trigeminal neuralgia (CTN) is a kind of trigeminal neuralgia which is due to neurovascular compression. The common neurological treatment CTN drug called carbamazepine is the main measure, although it usually has side effects and a high-rate of relapse. As a critical alternative therapy, electroacupuncture (EA) has been shown to benefit for neuropathic pain. The aims of this study are to observe the therapeutic effect and safety of EA for CTN, to evaluate whether EA has the advantage over carbamazepine in the analgesia of CTN. Furthermore, we would to establish a standardized, effective, and convenient therapy program of EA. Methods and analysis: One hundred twenty patients diagnosed with CTN will be randomized for a 4-week intervention. The interventions will be different according to the four groups (EA + carbamazepine group, sham EA + carbamazepine group, EA + placebo group and sham EA + placebo group). EA therapy will be performed in specific acupoints with a dilute wave (2/100 Hz) for 60 minutes. Carbamazepine tablets will be taken orally with 0.1 g each time, thrice daily. Sham EA and placebo intervention will not receive EA and drug treatment. The main outcomes are the change from baseline intensity of pain at 6 months (pain evaluation by visual analogue score) and the change from baseline brief introduction of 2-week pain to evaluate pain comprehensively. The data management and statistical analysis will be conducted by third party statisticians. Incidence of adverse events will be investigated. Ethics and dissemination: Ethics approval was obtained from the Clinical Trial Ethics Committee of The Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University (NO. ZSLL-KY-2017-033) and Jiaxing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NO. 2018-JZLK-002). The results will be disseminated by presentation at peer-reviewed journals.
Collateral-Pricking and Bloodletting Cupping Combined with Electroacupuncture for Postherpetic Neuralgia: A Meta-Analysis.

Abstract:Background Acupuncture therapy has demonstrated significant efficacy in the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia, effectively alleviating pain intensity and enhancing patients' quality of life. However, the effectiveness of collateral-pricking and bloodletting cupping combined with electroacupuncture in the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia remains a subject of controversy. We aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of collateral-pricking and bloodletting cupping combined with electroacupuncture for postherpetic neuralgia. Methods We identified relevant randomized controlled trials by conducting a comprehensive search in multiple databases: China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Biomedical Literature, Wanfang Data, PubMed, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Embase, and Web of Science. The outcome included efficacy rate, visual analog scale (VAS)scores and pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) scores. We meticulously assessed the risk of bias in the included trials and performed a meta-analysis. Results We analyzed 9 randomized controlled trials involving 639 patients. Collateral-pricking and bloodletting cupping combined with electroacupuncture achieved a significantly higher efficacy rate (risk ratio, 1.22 [95% CI, 1.13-1.31]; P < .001), reduced theVAS scores (standardized mean difference, -1.52 [95% CI, -2.26 to -0.79]; P < .001), and improved the PSQI scores (standardized mean difference, -2.31 [95% CI, -3.97 to -0.64]; P = .007) compared with the control groups. The subgroup analysis revealed that the combined treatment of collateral-pricking and bloodletting cupping and electroacupuncture had a significantly higher total effective rate compared with the carbamazepine, electroacupuncture, and pregabalin groups (P < .05). The total efficacy rate of the collateral-pricking and bloodletting cupping combined with electroacupuncture group was superior to that of the control group, irrespective of whether 2 or 3 courses were administered (P < .05). Conclusion Existing evidence suggests that the combination of collateral-pricking and bloodletting cupping and electroacupuncture demonstrates efficacy in pain relief, improvement of sleep quality, and enhanced therapeutic outcomes for patients with postherpetic neuralgia. However, further validation through large-scale multicenter randomized controlled trials is warranted due to the limited quantity and quality of the included literature in this study.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of acupuncture in treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). METHODS:Sixty patients with DPN were randomly assigned to the acupuncture treated group and the control group, 30 in each group. Besides basic treatment, patients were treated additionally with acupuncture and orally administration of Methycbal (Mecolbalamin) for 8 weeks respectively. Changes of symptoms, blood glucose, HbA1c, whole blood and plasma viscosity, the nerve conduction velocity (NCV) of sensory and motor nerves before and after treatment were observed. RESULTS:Acupuncture can ameliorate symptoms and signs of the nervous system, decrease whole blood and plasma viscosity, and improve the NCV of sensory and motor nerves in patients with DPN. CONCLUSION:The effect of acupuncture in treating DPN is definite.

Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of microvascular decompression ( MVD ) combined with partial sensory rhizotomy ( PSR) in treatment of patients with primary trigeminal neuralgia. Methods A total of 110 patients with primary trigeminal neuralgia during July 2011 and July 2014 were randomly divided into the observation group (n=55) and the control group (n=55). The control group was treated with MVD, while the observation group was treated with MVD combined with PSR. The clinical effect, postoperative complications and recurrence rate of the two groups were observed. Results The total effective rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group, while the incidence rate of postoperative complications and recurrence rate in the control group were signifi-cantly higher than those in the observation group (P<0. 05). Conclusion The MVD combined with PSR in treatment of patients with primary trigeminal neuralgia is safe and reliable with few complications and good clinical effect.
[Pricking-cupping combined with auricular thumbtack needle for postherpetic neuralgia of qi stagnation and blood stasis on chest and waist: a randomized controlled trial]

Abstract:Objective: To observe the clinical effect of pricking-cupping combined with auricular thumbtack needle for postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) of qi stagnation and blood stasis on chest and waist. Methods: A total of 98 patients with PHN of qi stagnation and blood stasis on chest and waist were randomized into an observation group (49 cases, 1 case was eliminated, 1 case dropped out) and a control group (49 cases, 1 case dropped out). In the observation group, treatment of pricking-cupping combined with auricular thumbtack needle was delivered, pricking and cupping were applied at Jiaji points (EX-B 2) at the related spinal segments corresponding to the pain sites and regional ashi points, once every other day, auricular thumbtack needle was applied at Xin (CO15), Shenmen (TF4), Neifenmi (CO18), Pizhixia (AT4), etc., once every 3 days. In the control group, pregabalin capsule was taken orally, 75 mg a time, twice a day. The treatment of 4 weeks was required in the two groups. Before and after treatment, the scores of TCM symptom, visual analogue scale (VAS), Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI), self-rating depression scale (SDS) and self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) were observed, the serum levels of immunoglobulin G (IgG), interleukin-6 (IL-6), C-reactive protein (CRP) were detected, and the clinical efficacy and safety were evaluated in the two groups. Results: After treatment, the item scores and total scores of TCM symptom, as well as the scores of VAS, PSQI, SDS and SAS were decreased compared with those before treatment (P<0.05); the item scores of pruritus degree, tactile sensitivity, skin numbness and total score of TCM symptom, as well as the scores of VAS, PSQI, SDS and SAS in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the serum levels of IgG were increased (P<0.05), while the serum levels of IL-6 and CRP were decreased (P<0.05) compared with those before treatment in the two groups; in the observation group, the serum level of IgG was higher (P<0.05), while the serum levels of IL-6 and CRP were lower (P<0.05) than those in the control group. The total effective rate was 95.7% (45/47) in the observation group, which was superior to 77.1% (37/48) in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence rate of adverse reaction was 6.4% (3/47) in the observation group, which was lower than 12.5% (6/48) in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Pricking-cupping combined with auricular thumbtack needle can effectively relieve the clinical symptoms in patients with PHN of qi stagnation and blood stasis on chest and waist, reduce the pigmentation of herpes and improve itch or burning, numb sensations in the skin lesions, improve the sleep quality and relieve anxiety and depression.

Abstract:Acupuncture is an effective and safe alternative treatment to prevent and treat migraine, but its central analgesic mechanism remains poorly understood. It is believed that the dysfunction of the thalamocortical connectivity network is an important contributor to migraine pathophysiology. This study aimed to investigate the abnormal thalamocortical network dynamics in patients with migraine without aura (MWoA) before and after an 8-week electroacupuncture treatment. A total of 143 patients with MWoA and 100 healthy controls (HC) were included, and resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data were acquired. Dynamic functional network connectivity (dFNC) was calculated for each subject. The modulation effect of electroacupuncture on clinical outcomes of migraine, dFNC, and their association were investigated. In our results, dFNC matrices were classified into two clusters (brain states). As compared with the HC, patients with MWoA had a higher proportion of brain states with a strong thalamocortical between-network connection, implying an abnormal balance of the network organization across dFNC brain states. Correlation analysis showed that this abnormality was associated with summarized clinical measurements of migraine. A total of 60 patients were willing to receive an 8-week electroacupuncture treatment, and 24 responders had 50% changes in headache frequency. In electroacupuncture responders, electroacupuncture could change the abnormal thalamocortical connectivities towards a pattern more similar to that of HC. Our findings suggested that electroacupuncture could relieve the symptoms of migraine and has the potential capacity to regulate the abnormal function of the thalamocortical circuits.

Abstract:Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of Shixuan and Qiduan blood-letting therapy combined with Master Tung's Five-tiger Point (11.27) Scraping for patients with hematological malignancy and peripheral neuritis. Methods: A total of 70 patients with hematological malignancy who were admitted to Langfang TCM Hospital between January 2020 and December 2022 for treating chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuritis were enrolled retrospectively. The patients were divided into a single treatment group that received western nutritional interventions alone, and a combined treatment group that underwent additional Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Shixuan and Qiduan blood-letting therapy, along with Master Tung's Five-tiger Point (11.27) Scraping. Statistical analyses were carried out to compare the clinical efficacy of the two treatment plans in the patients. Scores of sensory disturbance rating (SDR), numeric rating scale (NRS) for pain, nail fold microcirculation (NFM) of the infected extremity, and the quality of life (QoL), as well as the motor nerve conduction velocity (MNCV) and sensory nerve conduction velocity (SNCV) of the median and peroneal nerves of patients in both groups were recorded and compared before and after treatment. The incidence rate of adverse events was compared between the two groups. Furthermore, the clinical outcomes of patients in the two groups were followed up and analyzed for correlated factors using univariate and multivariate analyses. Results: The clinical efficacy rate achieved by the combined therapy was 88.57%, significantly higher than 68.57% for patients undergoing single therapy (P=0.041). Moreover, the scores of SDR, pain NRS, QoL, and NFM of the affected extremity, as well as the MNCV and SNCV of patients in the two groups were all improved after treatment, with better improvements in the combined treatment group than in the single treatment group. The incidence rate of adverse events was higher in the single treatment group compared to that of the combined treatment group (17.14% vs. 11.42%) (P=0.466). In addition, during the six-month follow-up period, a total of 27 patients in both groups developed chronic neural disorders. Logistic regression analysis revealed that the MNCV and SNCV of the median and peroneal nerves, together with the duration of chemotherapy, served as independent influencing factors. Conclusion: Shixuan and Qiduan blood-letting therapy combined with Master Tung's Five-tiger Point (11.27) Scraping could improve the SDR and pain NRS scores, facilitate the recovery of neural functions, and advance the QoL of patients with chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuritis without increasing the risk of adverse reactions.

Abstract:Objective:To talk about the effect of cluster needing of electro-'di'acupuncture combination of cognitive training in acupuncture treatment of mild cognitive impairment.Methods:The sixty cases with mild cognitive impairment who met the case standard were randomly divided into two groups: The group of cluster needing of electro-'di'acupuncture combination of cognitive training(Observer Group)and the group of cognitive training(Control Group).The observer group of 30 cases were treated with cluster needing of electro-'di'acupunctureexcite frontal area and the right side of temporal region and at the same time adopted cognitive training.The control group of 30 cases were treated with simple cognitive training.The treatment time of the two group were 30 minutes,once a day,six days every week,rested one day.Continuous observation of 8 weeks.Results:The effective rate of the observer group was 86.2%.The effective rate of the control group was 67.9%.There was asignificant difference between the two groups(P0.01)so they had comparability.Conclusion:Cluster needing of electro-'di'acupuncture combination of cognitive training in acupuncture treatment of mild cognitive impairment had the better effection and overcome the problome of ache of prickling and hurting.It was suited for clinical application.

Abstract:Objective: To observe the clinical therapeutic effect of Jingu three-needle therapy combined with Xingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture on complex regional pain syndrome typeⅠ(CRPS-Ⅰ) after stroke. Methods: A total of 96 patients with CRPS-Ⅰ after stroke were randomized into an observation group and a control group, 48 cases in each one. In the control group, based on the routine treatment, Xingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture was applied at Neiguan (PC 6), Shuigou (GV 26), Sanyinjiao (SP 6) and other supplementary acupoints, once a day, 6 times a week for 3 weeks. Based on the treatment in the control group, Jingu three-needle therapy was added at coracoid process, greater tuberosity of humerus and infraglenoid tubercle, the muscular fascia was released by fan-shaped separation technique for 3-6 times, and the treatment was given once every 2 days, 3 times a week for 3 weeks. Visual analogue scale (VAS) score, hand swelling level, Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA) score and Barthel index score were observed to evaluate the pain and swelling severity, motor function and living ability of patients before and after treatment. Results: ① Compared before treatment, the VAS score, hand swelling level, the FMA score and the Barthel index after treatment and 40 days after treatment were improved in both of the two groups (P<0.01). ② After treatment, the VAS score in the observation group was superior to the control group (P<0.01), 40 days after treatment, the VAS and FMA scores in the observation group were superior to the control group (P<0.01). ③ There were no significant differences after treatment and 40 days after treatment of the hand swelling level and the Barthel index between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: Jingu three-needle therapy combined with Xingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture can improve the pain severity and the motor function of affected limbs in patients with CRPS-Ⅰ after stroke, and the therapeutic effect may be sustained for a long term. However, the treatment seems to be ineffectual on extremity swelling.
Observation of clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with bloodletting therapy and Qingwen Xiere decoction in mild to moderate COVID-19 patients

Abstract:Objectives: To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of acupuncture combined with bloodletting therapy and Qingwen Xiere decoction in mild to moderate COVID-19 patients. Methods: A total of 100 mild to moderate COVID-19 patients collected from December 2022 to February 2023 were randomly divided into control and observation groups, with 50 patients in each group. Patients in the control group received oral Qingwen Xiere decoction for 6 days. The observation group received acupuncture combined with bloodletting therapy in addition to oral Qingwen Xiere decoction, with the acupuncture (at Kongzui ［LU6］, Hegu ［LI4］, Quchi ［LI11］, Feishu ［BL13］, Zhongwan ［CV12］, Qihai ［CV6］, Yinlingquan ［SP9］) administered 30 min each day for 6 days, and bloodletting (at Shaoshang ［LU11］, Shangyang ［LI1］, Dazhui ［GV14］) administered every other day for 3 times. Traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores and pulmonary CT scores were recorded before and after treatment. Serum contents of C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) were measured using ELISA. Anxiety and depression degree were assessed using the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) and Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA). Safety of the treatments was evaluated in both groups. Results: Compared with before treatment, after treatment, the control group showed improvement in fever, dry cough, sore throat, and total traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores (P<0.01), but no significant improvement in muscle pain or fatigue；the observation group showed significant improvement in total traditional Chinese medicine syndrome and individual symptoms scores (P<0.01)；both groups demonstrated reductions in pulmonary CT scores, HAMA score, HAMD score and serum contents of CRP and IL-6 (P<0.01)；serum TNF-α content significantly decreased in the observation group (P<0.01). All outcome measures were superior in the observation group to the control group (P<0.01, P<0.05). No adverse reactions were reported in either group. Conclusions: Acupuncture combined with bloodletting therapy and oral Qingwen Xiere decoction effectively improves clinical symptoms, alleviates pulmonary inflammatory injury, reduces inflammatory cytokine contents, and mitigates anxiety and depression in mild to moderate COVID-19 patients, and without adverse effects.
