Research progress on spermatogonial stem cells

Abstract:Spermatogonial stem cells(spermatogonial stem cells,SSCs)are the source of sperm production,so it has broad application prospects in treatment of non-obstructive azoospermia patients,biological engineering,genetics,transgenic research and etc.At present,many scholars have been tried their best to identify its specific markers,such as α6,β1 integrin,c-kit,glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor receptor,Piwi gene and so on,but failed to get a screening index with higher specificity.This article reviewed the research results in spermatogonial stem cells markers in the cell biological characteristics,cell surface molecules,cell-specific molecular marker.
