Overview of Quantum Light Source

Abstract:Quantum cryptography is a new technology which has been developed for twenty years.In this technology,the quantum properties are used to achieve or enhance communication security.Quantum cryptography system is often based on optical transmission characteristics of quantum signal,so how to obtain stable and reliable quantum light source has become a major problem of quantum cryptography.In this paper,the theories and experiments of several quantum light sources,including single photon source,continuous variable light source,entangled state light source,are reviewed,and the application of quantum light source are introduced.The paper ends with a short conclusion and prospect.
