Predation Prohibition and Economic Development

Abstract:We develop a general equilibrium model of the allocation of resources among productive and nonproductive activities, with which we analyze how the equilibrium is determined when the government is introduced as the third party of economy participants. We focuses on the possibility of equilibrium without predation, in which no resources are allocated to predation. We reach the conclusion that it is hard to yield equilibrium without predation unless the government acts as the third party. Therefore, the government should play a more important role than we have imagined.
