Abstract:Primary melanocytic tumors of the central nervous system (CNS) are rare lesions, but primary sellar tumors are rarer. Only 10 cases have been reported, and they are often misdiagnosed as pituitary macroadenoma. We report the case of a 54-year-old Chinese man who developed progressive bitemporal hemianopsia and visual loss. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed an intrasellar and suprasellar clouded lesion adhering to the optic chiasm, hypothalamus, and hypophyseal stalk that was suspected of being a hemorrhagic pituitary macroadenoma. Because of the atypically giant, hemorrhagic, and upward-growing lesion, an initial trans-sphenoidal approach failed, and subsequent transfrontal craniotomy was adopted to achieve macroscopically complete resection. Histopathologic findings revealed a benign melanocytic tumor. Despite an extensive search, no other primary or secondary site was found. Considering the relatively benign lesion, effective surgery, and potential significant consequences of radiotherapy, the patient received no further treatment and is still alive at the 7-year follow-up. Primary sellar melanocytic tumors are exceptional lesions that are difficult to diagnose before operating and/or obtaining pathological findings. The pathological classification and extent of surgical resection may play a key role in the prognosis. Once this type of lesion is suspected, the transfrontal approach may achieve preferable exposure and resection. Complete surgical resection may be sufficient for relatively benign lesions; otherwise, stereotactic fractionated radiotherapy is indicated. More cases should be reported to improve the treatment strategy.
Primary Primitive Neuroectodermal Tumor of Cervix: a Clinicopathologic Study of 3 Cases

Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinicopathological features,diagnosis,differential diagnosis and prognosis of primitive neuroectodermal tumor of cervix.Methods Three cases of primary primitive neuroectodermal tumor of cervix were observed by morphologic and immunohistochemical techniques and relative clinical data were analyzed.Results All 3 cases underwent surgery,within which 1 case received both preoperative and postoperative chemotherapy and radiation;1 case underwent preoperative radiation and postoperative chemotherapy;1 case gave up chemotherapy and radiation.Clinically,all patients presented with symptoms of vaginal bleeding and or pelvic pain with cervical masses.Histologically,all tumors showed unvarying small round cells,rare cytoplasm,indistinct cell borders,hyperchromatic blue round to oval nuclei,inconspicuous nucleoli and presenting pseudorosettes in one case.Immunohistochemically,the tumor cells were positive for CD99,vimentin,CD56,NSE and Syn in all 3 cases.Now all cases were still alive with a follow-up interval ranging from 15-10 months.Conclusion Primitive neuroectodermal tumor occurs rarely as a primary cervical neoplasm with a poor prognosis,which can be diagnosed on the base of pathologic detection,immunohistochemistry,cytogenetics and electron microscopy.Combined therapy including surgery,chemotherapy and radiation is recommended for the disease.
Primary Chiasmatic Malignant Glioma:A Case Report and Literature Review

Abstract:Aim:To discuss the feature of primary chiasmatic malignant glioma.Methods:The case of a visually defected patient who was diagnosed,with primary chiasmatic malignant glioma was analyzed,and in the mean time,the literature were reviewed to summerize the characteristic of such disease.Results:CT shows a suprasellar lesion to be iso-intense and irregularly shaped,the volume is measured around 2.5 cm×1.2 cm×2 cm.MR shows the chiasm to be enlarged obviously,and the shape of it can be recognized.Bilateral optic nerves were enlarged asymmetrically.The chiasm shows iso- or hypo-intensity on T1 and slight hyperintensity on T2.With contrast,a lesion with cystic change measured about 1.1 cm×1 cm×1.2 cm emerges apparently. There are also abnormal enhancement inside bilateral optic nerves without discernable border to normal tissue. The surgery was performed by modified pterional approach.The tumor body was located inside the chiasm, the colour was grey red mixed up with yellow tissue,the blood supply was abundant.Subtotal removal of the tumor was performed,the surrounding structure such as bilateral ACAs and pituitary stalk were preserved well.The patient showed no visual improvement after surgery.1 month later the MR showed further invasion of the tumor,then the patient died in local hospital 3 months later after the operation.Conclusion:Accordeing to the literature there were only 4 cases of primary chiasmatic malignant gliomas(PCMGs) reported in English literature.Patients diagnosed with such disease usually showed quite poor prognosis.The treatment is surgical removal of the tumor,but the operation should not be aggressive.Post-operative radiotherapy and chemotherapy may be helpful to extend the survival time of patients.
Primary Melanocytoma of Central Nervous System:A Clinicopathologic Analysis of Two Cases

Abstract:Aim To analyze the clinicopathologic and immunohistochemical features, diagnosis, differential diagnosis of primary melanocytoma of central nervous system. Methods Two cases of primary melanocytoma of CNS in 2007 and 2014 were collected and the clinicopathologic and immunohistochemical data were analyzed. Results Two patients presented without melanocytic tumour of the skin. The tumours were solitary and located in sella area and intraspinal canal with slow-growing. The duration of disease onset was 3 years and 10 years respectively. Generally the tumours were brown and solid, histologically slightly spindled or oval tumour cells containing variable melanin arranged in whorls, nests. Cytologic mitoses were absent (on average less than 1/10 HPFs). Immunohistochemical study showed that the two cases were positive for s-100, HMB45, vimentin and negative for cytokeratin, epithelial membrane antigen, GFAP. The staining for NSE were partly positive in one case. Conclusion Primary melanocytoma of CNS located in sella and lumbar spinal cord is rarer. It presents some pathological characteristics. Although slow-growing, it carries a recurrence rate and even has manignant change, warranting long-term follow up needed.

Abstract:BACKGROUND: Primary intramedullary spinal cord (IMSC) glioblastoma (GBM) is an extremely rare entity; we report the first case of primary IMSC GBM presenting with exophytic involvement. The prognosis of glioblastoma remains poor due to the aggressive nature of the disease and lack of effective treatment. CASE DESCRIPTION: A 27-year-old Asian female presented to our hospital with a 1-month history of dysuria, incomplete bladder emptying, progressive numbness, and weakness of both lower limbs, as well as a 1-year history of back pain. Spinal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed an intramedullary lesion and exophytic growth in the T4-T12 and T5-12 regions, respectively. The patient's MRI findings were atypical of spinal glioblastoma. The diagnosis was made on the basis of immunohistochemical and pathologic analyses of tissue samples obtained from an open biopsy. The patient received a standard course of glioblastoma radiotherapy and adjuvant temozolomide chemotherapy, which improved her symptoms in the absence of an apparent reduction in tumor size. CONCLUSIONS: Although MRI is of indisputable importance in the diagnosis of spinal cord lesions, immunohistochemical and histopathologic studies are often required to establish a definitive diagnosis. It remains unclear how the unusual involvement of exophytic growth will affect the prognosis of primary IMSC GBM.
Early diagnosis and comprehensive treatment for germinoma of sellar region

Abstract:Objective To review the experiences of early diagnosis and comprehensive treatment for germinoma of the sellar region.Methods Clinical data of 23 patients who were suspected as having germinoma in the sellar region were analyzed retrospectively.Nine patients underwent surgery and the postoperative pathological examination confirmed germinoma of the sellar region,then they received chemoradiotherapy.Fourteen patients were diagnosed as having germinoma in the sellar region according to clinical features,serological examination,imaging and diagnostic radiotherapy and received chemoradiotherapy.Results All the patients were followed up for 11 to 57 months with a mean period of 23.8 months.The tumor recurred in one patient whose tumor disappeared after chemotherapy.And 8 patients with high blood level of human chorionic gonadotropin(HCG) recovered after chemoradiotherapy.Headache and visual deterioration of all the patients were significantly relieved,but endocrine abnormality such as polydipsia and polyuria still existed.Conclusions For the patients with germinoma in the sellar region,early diagnosis and comprehensive treatment such as chemoradiotherapy can make good outcome.

Abstract:Primary intracranial germinoma is a rare intracranial lesion which accounts for approximately 0.5-2% of all intracranial tumors. Generally, primary intracranial germinoma occurs in the midline structures of the central nervous system of a pediatric patient. Only four cases of primary cerebellar germinomas with poor prognosis have been previously reported. The object of this paper is to introduce a case of germinoma originating from cerebellar hemisphere and to discuss its clinical features. This paper reported an 8-year-old boy who was diagnosed to have cerebella inflammatory granuloma during hospitalization and then discharged without any operation. However, the follow-up MRs revealed that the lesion became larger. Therefore, the boy was hospitalized again and underwent a gross total resection of lesion. According to pathological examination, the final diagnosis was confirmed as germinoma. Chemo- and radiotherapy were followed and so far, the patient showed good recovery without any recurrence and metastasis. Primary cerebellar germinoma has been rarely described in previous literatures. In this paper, a primary cerebellar germinoma was reported and its clinical features and treatments were discussed. The tumor's significant shrinkage by CT- scan was firstly reported and maybe this would provide a valuable hint for the diagnosis and treatment on the intracranial germinomas in children.
Epid-36. Clinical Features Of 614 Primary Intracranial Germ Cell Tumors: An 15-Year Experience Of A Single Center In China

Abstract:Incidence of primary intracranial germ cell tumors (ICGCT) in Asian countries is higher than Western countries. This study aims to describe the characteristics of ICGCT patients in China. Data on all patients with ICGCT who were seen at the Department of Neuro-oncology, Sanbo Brain Hospital, Capital Medical University from 2007 to 2022 were collected retrospectively. Patient demographics, disease characteristics and treatment outcomes were analyzed. A total of 614 patients were identified, with 309 germinomas and 305 non-germinomatous germ cell tumors (NGGCT). The median age at diagnosis was 12.8 years. The male-female ratio is 2.4 to 1. The primary disease sites were mainly pineal gland and suprasellar region. Adults (age≥23) were more likely to develop germinomas (65.3%). 78% patients received radiotherapy after initial diagnosis. In M0 patients, whole brain radiotherapy was the most common approach, while in M+ was craniospinal radiotherapy. Whole ventricle radiotherapy was uncommon (4%). The most common chemotherapy regimen for germinoma was a combination of bleomycin, cisplatin and etoposide/tenipside; while for the NGGCT was ifosfamide combined with carboplatin/cisplatin and etoposide. For germinoma, the median recurrence-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS) were 150.3 months and 222 months; the 10 year RFS and OS were 58.2% and 85.1%, respectively. For NGGCT, the median RFS and OS were 80.4 months and 166.7 months; the 10 year RFS and OS were 46.9% and 60.5%. At relapse, four (0.65%) developed secondary malignancies. Seven (1.14%) developed extracranial dissemination. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy could improve the RFS and OS. Higher radiation dose was associated with better prognosis. The prognosis of focal radiotherapy alone was poor. M0 germinoma treated with focal radiotherapy alone were more likely relapse. This study suggested that treatment outcomes of our ICGCT patients are comparable with those in Western centers. Adjuvant chemotherapy and whole brain/craniospinal radiotherapy are pivotal treatment.

Abstract:Objective To study the early diagnosis and combined treatment with chemotherapy and radiotherapy in intracranial basal ganglia germinoma. Method To analyze and judge the characteristics of age, sex, early clinical symptoms, systems, serology and photocopy (MRI, CT) of 25 patients with intracranial basal ganglia germinoma in order to get evidences of intracranial basal ganglia germinoma for early combined treatment. Results 4 cases were diagnosed as germinoma by pathology. The other 21 cases have been diagnosed early by analyzing and judging the characteristics of age, sex, early clinical symptoms, systems, serology and photocopy (MRI, CT). All cases were treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy. All patients were followed-up for a period from 10 months to 7 years, with the average follow-up of 45 months. The tumor recurrence was not found. Conclusions The intracranial basal ganglia germinoma can be diagnosed earlier by careful clinical observation and comprehensive analysis and judgement, and satisfied results euuld be realized with the chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Abstract:Mixed germ cell tumors (mGCTs) involving both the ovaries and sellar region have been rarely reported; thus, they pose significant challenges in clinical management. Our report of a case of a 26-year-old female with left ovarian mGCTs (dysgerminoma + yolk sac tumor) who presented with postoperative headaches and blurred vision contributes new information to the literature on treating mGCTs, which can lead to standardized regimens and sequencing guidelines. A physical examination revealed right temporal hemianopia, and elevated levels of alpha-fetoprotein were detected in serum and cerebrospinal fluid. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the sellar region revealed a space-occupying lesion. Pathological examination of the tumor after endoscopic transnasal resection confirmed the diagnosis of mGCTs (germinomas + yolk sac tumor). The patient received adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy at reduced dosages. During follow-up, tumor markers remained within normal limits, and there was no evidence of tumor recurrence on sellar region MRI. This case highlights the rarity of the simultaneous occurrence of ovarian and sellar region mGCTs and emphasizes the importance of accurate diagnosis and multidisciplinary management.

Abstract:Mature teratoma is a subtype of intracranial germ cell tumors (GCTs), distinguished from malignant GCTs by its benign nature and excellent prognosis. Typically, no adjuvant therapy is recommended following gross total resection (GTR). We report a case of a prepubertal girl with a suprasellar mature teratoma that recurred as a germinoma 6 months post-GTR. A 7-year-old girl presented with headache and polydipsia. Imaging revealed a suprasellar mass. The patient underwent GTR, and pathological diagnosis confirmed a mature teratoma without other GCT components. Six months later, MRI identified a newly developed suprasellar mass adjacent to the optic chiasm. A second surgery confirmed the mass as a germinoma. The patient subsequently underwent adjuvant chemotherapy combined with proton therapy, resulting in complete remission. The diagnosis of mature teratoma must be approached with caution, and thorough follow-up is imperative, particularly in cases involving female patients, prepubertal age, or non-pineal locations.

Seminoma characterized by thickening of the pituitary stalk : A case report

Abstract:Intracranial seminoma is a rare malignant tumor originating from the germ cells, usually occurring in the pineal gland or pituitary gland. In June 2020, the Department of Endocrinology at the First Affiliated Hospital of Army Military Medical University admitted a 20-year-old male patient with an intracranial germ cell tumor and spinal metastases. The patient presented with headache, dizziness, and visual impairment. Enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the head indicated thickening of the pituitary stalk. After multidisciplinary consultation, the patient underwent endonasal transsphenoidal resection of the tumor, with the pathological diagnosis confirming germ cell tumor. The patient received regular radiotherapy postoperatively. One year later, the tumor recurred and metastasized, leading to a second surgery for tumor resection in the thoracic spinal canal, followed by continued chemotherapy. The patient's clinical symptoms, such as headache and visual disturbances, improved, but he continued to experience panhypopituitarism and required long-term hormone replacement therapy. Early diagnosis of intracranial germ cell tumors is challenging, and they are prone to metastasis and highly sensitive to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Early diagnosis and multidisciplinary comprehensive treatment can help improve the quality of life and prognosis for patients.
Primary Intracranial Choriocarcinoma: A Report of 8 Cases with Review of Literature

Abstract:Objective: Primary intracranial choriocarcinoma is a rare intracranial neoplasm. We discuss its clinical features and treatment in a pediatric population.Methods: We retrospectively studied choriocarcinoma cases in our center from May 2002 to January 2015. Eight patients were diagnosed with primary intracranial choriocarcinoma and included. Pre- and post-operative CT and MRI were examined and blood serum and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) were sampled to measure alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), carcinoembryogenic antigen (CEA), and human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG).Results: All patients were male, aged between 5-17 years, (mean 11 years). The major presenting symptoms were headache, and dizziness with vomiting. All patients presented with hydrocephalus. The duration of onset was 10 days to 3 months; five patients had eye movement disorder and diplopia. Two patients had precocious puberty; and one patient had diabetes insipidus. HCG was elevated in all patients (serum level ranged from 1190-12000 IU/L CSF level ranged from 990-4651.56 IU/L). Three patients received preoperative radiotherapy. Eight patients received ventriculo-peritoneal shunts immediately after admission. Seven patients underwent surgery the remaining patient received chemotherapy with radiotherapy. Seven patients received postoperative chemotherapy. Hemorrhage and tumor growth occurred in patients who underwent preoperative radiotherapy. Follow-up was from 1 to 60 months; three patients died during follow-up and four survived. The mean survival time was 23.6 months.Conclusions: Extremely elevated HCG levels in serum and CSF may help diagnosis of primary intracranial choriocarcinoma. Based on these cases, we are concerned that preoperative radiotherapy may increase the hemorrhage occurrence. Surgery combined with chemotherapy may be a more effective treatment.

Abstract:Germ cell tumors commonly develop in the pineal and suprasellar regions, with the most common germ cell tumor being germinomas. In this report, a 22-year-old male presented with progressive right-sided weakness and his imaging was consistent a thalamic high grade glioma. A stereotactic biopsy was performed, revealing a germinoma, but radiation therapy was not done and patient was lost to follow up. He was readmitted due to ulcerative tumor growth at the previous skin incision, and imaging revealed tumor progression with implantation metastasis along the tract of the previous biopsy. The scalp tumor was excised and histopathologic studies confirmed that it was proliferation of the previous germinoma. He was discharged well but was unfortunately unable to follow up at the clinic. Thalamic germinomas are difficult to diagnose and treat because of their rarity. Here we underscore the importance of careful patient selection, precise biopsy techniques, thorough postoperative management and close radiographic surveillance to minimize the risk of implantation metastasis and promptly treat it if it occurs.

Primary ovarian choriocarcinoma mimicking ectopic pregnancy managed with laparoscopy - Case report

Abstract:Nongestational ovarian choriocarcinomas are extremely rare and pose diagnostic challenges in reproductive-aged patients because of elevated human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG). A 23-year-old nulliparous Chinese woman with nongestational ovarian choriocarcinoma escaped diagnostic testing and was initially treated for an ectopic pregnancy. Three months after her first visit, a diagnostic laparoscopy demonstrated a nongestational ovarian choriocarcinoma. Comprehensive surgical staging was performed by laparoscopy. The tumor was confined to the left ovary. The patient was categorized as FIGO Stage IA. She was given four courses of combined chemotherapy after laparoscopic surgery and has been disease-free for 36 months.
[Long-Term Effect of Chemotherapy Combined with Radiotherapy in Treatment of Intracranial Germinoma: Report of 39 Cases].

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the long-term effect of chemotherapy combined with radiotherapy in treatment of intracranial germinomas.METHODS:Chemotherapy combined with radiotherapy was given to 45 patients with intracranial germinomas, 24 in the pineal region, 8 in the pineal and suprasellar regions, 4 in the suprasellar region, and 3 in the pineal region and cerebral ventricle from December 1993 to December 1996. Vincristine (VCR), methotrexate (MTX), bleomycin and cisplatin were administered for 4 days as a course of treatment. Then blood routine examination was taken twice a week and blood biochemical examination was taken once a week. A repeat course of chemotherapy was started 4 weeks after if no abnormality in blood examination was found. Local radiotherapy was taken with low to middle dosage (25 - 35 Gy) 1 - 2 months after the second course of chemotherapy. CT and/or MRI examination are made regularly. 39 patients had been followed up for 5 - 8 years.RESULTS:Out of the 39 cases followed-up, one with the relapsing tumor had undergone operation and radiotherapy 2 years before and was given chemotherapy alone without radiotherapy re-relapsed and died in 4 years. One case relapsed 5 years after chemotherapy and radiotherapy and then was given chemotherapy for two more courses with the result of a shrinking of tumor by 80%. During the follow-up 37 patients (95%) survived without relapse of tumor and resumed their normal work or schooling.CONCLUSION:Chemotherapy combined with local radiotherapy with low to middle dosage is the best choice for treatment of intracranial germinomas.
Individualized treatment of intracranial germ cell tumors

Abstract:Objective To analyze the treatment effects of intracranial germ cell tumors (ICGCTs) using microsurgery.Methods A retrospective study was conducted on the data of 32 cases of ICGCT who were admitted to Yuquan Hospital of Tsinghua University from October 2012 to June 2016.Among them,there were 6 cases of germinoma,14 cases of mixed ICGCT,4 cases of mature teratoma,6 cases of immature teratoma,1 case of malignant teratoma and 1 case of choriocarcinoma.Preoperative chemotherapy was performed in 4 cases.Postoperatively,16 cases received chemotherapy,3 cases underwent local radiotherapy,and 2 cases underwent chemotherapy plus local radiotherapy.The surgical outcomes were followed up.Results For the 32 cases,the average follow-up period was (21.8 ±13.5) months.The gross total resection (GTR) group included 17 cases (53.1％) and the remaining 15 cases (46.9％) did not receive GTR.Out of the 12 patients of tumor recurrence,3 cases (25.0％) belonged to the GTR group and the other 9 cases (75.0％) were in the non-GTR group.The recurrence rates in the two groups (3/17 vs.9/15) were significantly different (P ＜0.05).Pathological results indicated that the "teratoma" components were contained in 22 cases,accounting for 66.8％ of all cases in this study and 84.6％ of non-germinoma of germ cell tumors (NGGCTs).In 2 cases of tumor recurrence,their pathological results were inconsistent with the original features.No severe surgical complications were observed.By the end of follow-up,6 patients (18.8％) died,among whom 5 did not receive postoperative chemoradiotherapy and died from tumor recurrence.Conclusions Microsurgery seems to be one important approach in treatment of ICGCTs,particularly NGGCTs.Patients might benefit from the GTR of the lesions.Individualized radiation and chemotherapy before and after surgery could help reduce the tumor recurrence.
[A Case of Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma Originated from Optic Chiasma and Presenting Difficulty in Diagnosis]

Abstract:We report a case of primary central nervous system lymphoma(PCNSL)originating from an optic chiasma, which was difficult to diagnose but was finally diagnosed by biopsy. A 62-year-old immunocompetent man presented with bilateral visual field disturbance, hypopituitarism, and diabetes insipidus;an optic chiasm lesion was detected on MRI. After starting steroid supplementation for adrenal insufficiency, visual field disturbance immediately improved. Since the lesion completely disappeared three months after its onset, it became the follow-up without histological confirmation. Six months after the onset, visual field disturbance progressed, and the lesion recurred. We performed a left optic nerve biopsy to maintain the right visual field, which remained partially. The pathology was PCNSL. We performed postoperative chemoradiotherapy, and the patient showed remission and improvement of the visual field. Isolated PCNSLs arising from optic chiasma are very rare. The diagnosis of optic chiasm lesions is difficult due to their similarity with a variety of inflammatory/autoimmune disease and neoplastic lesions. When a lymphoma is considered to be differentiated, early biopsy should be performed before administering a steroid. The approach and sampling site to prevent the function are also important for biopsy.
Pituitary germinoma after resection of a mature third ventricular teratoma: illustrative case

Abstract:Background: Metachronous intracranial germ cell tumors (iGCTs)-unrelated, histologically different iGCTs occurring at different time points-occurring within the same patient remain a rarity. Herein, the authors report such a case and discuss the literature and potential pathophysiological mechanisms leading to this phenomenon. Observations: A 9-year-old boy presented with new-onset impaired balance, headaches, nausea, visual disturbances, and left facial paresis. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans revealed a suspected pineal region teratoma originating from the pineal gland with consecutive obstructive hydrocephalus. A mature teratoma was diagnosed and resected. Postoperative recovery was good, and the patient could return to his normal daily activities. However, a new, slowly progressive lesion in the sellar region with an enlarged infundibular stalk was detected on follow-up MRI 3.5 years after initial pineal region teratoma resection. Biopsy revealed a newly developed pure germinoma. The patient was treated with radiotherapy plus chemotherapy and remained relapse free at the last follow-up. Sixteen other cases have reported a surgically resected primary mature teratoma, wherein patients developed metachronous germinomas during follow-up. Different theories try to elaborate this phenomenon, yet none can completely account for it. Lessons: Although rare, metachronous iGCT is a phenomenon neurosurgeons should be aware of. Intradural chondroma in the cervical spine: case report

Abstract:Chondromas are benign tumors that are rarely located in the spine. The authors present a rare occurrence of a spinal chondroma that developed as an intradural but extramedullary tumor in a 60-year-old woman. The location of the tumor at C4-5 was confirmed by MRI, with hyperintensity on T2-weighted images and isointensity on T1-weighted images. The tumor was completely contained intradurally, with no continuity to any vertebrae. It adhered to the anterior dura, indicative of its likely origin from the dura mater. The tumor was completely resected, with no sign of recurrence after 3 years postoperatively. Although reports of chondromas originating from the dura mater have been previously described, these have all been intracranial tumors. To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first report of an intradural chondroma located in the spine. Therefore, chondromas should be considered in the differential diagnosis of intradural spinal tumors.
