Effect of bagging on fruit quality of Hujingmilu peach cultivar

Abstract:4 kind of bags (orange red-colored, yellow-colored, white-colored and newspaper-made) were used for studying their effects on the fruit quality of Hujingmilu peach cultivar under bagging cultivation. Fruit were bagged at the pit-hardening stage, non-bagged were used as control. The results showed that the fruit bagged with white-colored bags had higher high sugar content with stronger aroma; the skin became dark red, which even affected the flesh color. The fruit bagged with orange red-colored bags appeared a bright red skin and had high L values; both of which accounted for the good visual quality. The fruit bagged with yellow-colored bags had higher sugar and aroma, so the fruit quality was improved. But the fruit bagged with newspaper-made bags had a rough skin with little aroma and acidity.
