Abstract:Objective:To understand the changes of the growth, cycle, morphology and adhesive force of tumor cells. Methods:Three lines of tumor cells were cultured in the special designed outer space cell living system, and was sealed in the returning module of the shuttle, launched by the No. 4 Shenzhou carrying space shuttle, returning in 7 days after flying in outer space. The returning cells were monocloned before they multiplied, and their physiological functional changes were observed such as cell morphology, cell multiplication, cell cycle and their adhesive force. Results:About 4,000 cell lines from the returning cells through monoclone and multiplication were obtained. Morphological and physiological studies found that tumor cells appeared multiple cell morphological changes. Comparing with the control group on earth, their growth rate decreased, the number of cells in G1 stage increased markedly. The adhesive force to vascular endothelium weakened obviously, however, it increased after regeneration for 2-3 times. Conclusion:The large amount of monocloned tumor cell lines induced by the outer space offered a condition to begin further research. The changes of tumor cells on their growth, cycle, morphology, and adhesive force after outer space circumstance were understood primarily. These results laid a foundation for further study on tumor vaccine and tumor biology.
