Abstract:Because of their special living conditions,marine microorganisms can often yield various bioactive substances with novel functions and structures.Therefore marine microorganisms,as the new sources of bioactive substances,have received people's great attention in recent years.The paper summarized the current development and utilization about bioactive substances on antitumor,antiangiocardiopathy,immunomodulator,antibiotic etc.as well as the relative studying methods,and showed the enormoous development prospects for the marine microorganisms.

Abstract:Objective To summarize the research progress in the study of marine microorganisms′ metabolites and their bioactivities,and predict the development of new marine drugs.Methods Recently published fifty-four papers were consulted,and the new bioactive compounds of microorganism from marine actinomycetes,fungi and bacteria were summarized based on the different bioactivities;their bioactivities included antibacterial,anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory activities.Results A variety of bioactive components was found in marine microorganisms,and they were hopeful to be developed as anti-tumor,anti-inflammatory drugs.Conclusion This review provides a reference to the research and development of marine bioactive components.

Abstract:Marine microorganisms,which are taxonomically diverse,have powerful potential in producing novel bioactive substance.Because of particularity in their living condition and the ecological functions of microorganisms,they have evolved their own unique mode of metabolism.streptomyces,gram-positive bacteria,possessed a strong capacity of regenerative,discernment and defensive.Marine streptomyces possess metabolic capabilities different from those of terrestrial streptomyces,which are obtained during their evolution in the marine environment and biological activity.This paper reviews briefly the research advances achieved recently in the studies on the secondary metabolites of marine streptomyces and their biological activities in terms of the structural types of the metabolites.

Abstract:Abstract Microalgae is one of the most important components in the aquatic ecosystem, and they are increasingly used in food and medicine production for human consumption due to their rapid growth cycle and survival ability in the harsh environment. Now, the exploration of microalgae has been gradually deepening, mainly focused on the field of nutrition, medicine, and cosmetics. A great deal of studies has shown that microalgae have a variety of functions in regulating the body health and preventing disease, such as nitrogen fixation, antitumor, antivirus, antioxidation, anti‐inflammatory, and antithrombotic. Furthermore, microalgae can synthesize various high‐valued bioactive substances, such as proteins, lipids, polysaccharides, and pigments. In this paper, we have briefly reviewed the research progress of main bioactive components in microalgae, proteins, lipids, polysaccharides, pigments, and other nutrients included, as well as their present application situation. This paper can provide the guidance for research and development of industrial production of microalgae.

Abstract:Marine sediments are one of the largest habitats on Earth, and their unique ecology, such as high salinity, high pressure, and hypoxia, may activate certain silent genes in marine microbes, resulting in microbes, enzymes, active products, and specific metabolic pathways that can adapt to these specific ecological environments. Marine sediment-derived microorganisms and their bioactive metabolites are of great significance and have potential commercial development prospects for food, pharmaceutical, chemical industries, agriculture, environmental protection and human nutrition and health. In recent years, although there have been numerous scientific reports surrounding marine sediment-derived microorganisms and their bioactive metabolites, a comprehensive review of their research progress is lacking. This paper presents the development and renewal of traditional culture-dependent and omics analysis techniques and their application to the screening of marine sediment-derived microorganisms producing bioactive substances. It also highlights recent research advances in the last five years surrounding the types, functional properties and potential applications of bioactive metabolites produced by marine sediment-derived microorganisms. These bioactive metabolites mainly include antibiotics, enzymes, enzyme inhibitors, sugars, proteins, peptides, and some other small molecule metabolites. In addition, the review ends with concluding remarks on the challenges and future directions for marine sediment-derived microorganisms and their bioactive metabolites. The review report not only helps to deepen the understanding of marine sediment-derived microorganisms and their bioactive metabolites, but also provides some useful information for the exploitation and utilization of marine microbial resources and the mining of new compounds with potential functional properties.

Abstract:海洋多变复杂的环境导致了海洋微生物的多样性。近几年的研究报道显示，占海洋微生物主导地位的海洋细菌产生的活性物质种类最为丰富，因此从海洋细菌中寻找新颖独特的具有药用价值的活性物质具有巨大潜力，海洋细菌也将成为新药筛选的重要资源，在药品开发中具有良好的发展前景。本文通过对近几年在海洋细菌活性物质研究这一领域研究论文的检索和归纳，对海洋细菌活性物质的主要特点和其在抑菌、抗肿瘤和酶及酶抑制剂、抗炎等多个方面的活性进行综述，揭示了海洋细菌活性物质在药物开发中的应用现状，总结了在这一领域现阶段所存在的问题，并对其未来的发展给予了展望。 Ever-changing ocean environment has bred the extreme diversity of marine microorganisms. Recent re- searches showed that marine bacteria, the majority of the marine microorganism, generate abundant bio-active materials, indicating a foreseeable and great potential of the search for novel bio-active products from marine bacteria. This pro- gress has attracted attentions of both academia and business. Marine bacteria could become a new resource in drug screening and show a promising development prospect. Based on the recent works of bio-active material from marine bacteria, we reviewed their main features and active roles in the study of antibiotics, anti-tumor agents, enzyme and enzyme inhibitors, anti-inflammatory medicine and so on, revealing the current status of marine bacteria bio-active ma- terial in drug development. We summed up the problems encountered at this stage and made a prediction of probable hot spot in the future development.

Abstract:Recent researches have shown that some compounds isolated from marine organisms have striking structural similarities with the metabolites from known microorganisms. It is inferred from the researches that the symbiotic or associated marine microorganisms may be the true sources of those compounds or at least involved in the biosynthesizing process. This view has been further evidenced by the researches for many sponges and sponge-associated microorganisms. Importantly, growing evidence has highlighted that the symbiotic or associated marine microorganisms live in the microenvironment within the hosts, and they also produce secondary metabolites which are new and original in structure and unique in activity. All these suggest that the microorganisms associated with marine organisms are the sources with very high potential to be new natural bioactive agents. This article reviews briefly the research advances in the study of new bioactive metabolites from marine organisms-associated microorganisms since 2000.

Abstract:Oceans have borne most of the biological activities on our planet. A number of biologically active compounds with varying degrees of action, such as anti-tumor, anti-cancer, anti-microtubule, anti-proliferative, cytotoxic, photo protective, as well as antibiotic and antifouling properties, have been isolated to date from marine sources. The marine environment also represents a largely unexplored source for isolation of new microbes (bacteria, fungi, actinomycetes, microalgae-cyanobacteria and diatoms) that are potent producers of bioactive secondary metabolites. Extensive research has been done to unveil the bioactive potential of marine microbes (free living and symbiotic) and the results are amazingly diverse and productive. Some of these bioactive secondary metabolites of microbial origin with strong antibacterial and antifungal activities are being intensely used as antibiotics and may be effective against infectious diseases such as HIV, conditions of multiple bacterial infections (penicillin, cephalosporines, streptomycin, and vancomycin) or neuropsychiatric sequelae. Research is also being conducted on the general aspects of biophysical and biochemical properties, chemical structures and biotechnological applications of the bioactive substances derived from marine microorganisms, and their potential use as cosmeceuticals and nutraceuticals. This review is an attempt to consolidate the latest studies and critical research in this field, and to showcase the immense competence of marine microbial flora as bioactive metabolite producers. In addition, the present review addresses some effective and novel approaches of procuring marine microbial compounds utilizing the latest screening strategies of drug discovery.

Marine microbial symbionts are possible the true producers or take part in the biosynthesis of some bioactive marine natural products isolated from the marine organism hosts. Investigation of the pharmaceutical metabolites may reveal the biosynthesis mechanisms of related natural products and solve the current problem of supply limitation in marine drug development. This paper reviews the advances in diversity revelation, biological activity and related pharmaceutical metabolites, and functional genes of marine microbial symbionts from the China Sea.

Abstract:This review outlines the research that was carried out regarding the isolation of bioactive compounds from marine-derived bacteria and fungi by China-based research groups from 2009-2018, with 897 publications being surveyed. Endophytic organisms featured heavily, with endophytes from mangroves, marine invertebrates, and marine algae making up more than 60% of the microbial strains investigated. There was also a strong focus on fungi as a source of active compounds, with 80% of publications focusing on this area. The rapid increase in the number of publications in the field is perhaps most notable, which have increased more than sevenfold over the past decade, and suggests that China-based researchers will play a major role in marine microbial natural products drug discovery in years to come.

Abstract:Diverse arrays of new bioactive secondary metabolites have been isolated from marine microorganisms; and the number of publications in this area has greatly increased in recent years. In this review, the emphasis is placed on new compounds with antitumor, enzyme inhibitors, antivirus, and other bioactive metabolites from fungi, bacteria, actinomycetes, and cyanobacteria reported between 2000 and 2005. Supply is a major limitation in the development of marine bioproducts, and the methods for supplying these products are important. So in this review, the secondary major point is placed on the chemical synthetic studies. References of 390 structures and 263 citations are overall presented in this review.
