Impact of Systematic Nursing Intervention on the Health Status of Gynecological Cancer Patients Receiving Chemotherapy

Abstract:Objective The purpose of this study was to explore the systematic nursing intervention′s impact on the health status of gynecological cancer patients receiving chemotherapy.Methods A quasi-experimental design was used and thirty-five gynecological cancer patients were selected.The systematic nursing intervention was mainly made of cognitive and behavior therapy,which included health education,psychological guide,coping skill training and social support utilization.The instruments covered self-designed Questionnaire,Self-Rating Anxiety Scale,Beck Depression Inventory,Social Support Questionnaire.The researcher interviewed the patients on the first day of the first,the third and the fourth chemotherapy circle respectively after they were selected and completed the questionnaires.Results After systematic nursing intervention,the declining rate of the quantity of white blood cell was slowed,the content of hemoglobin increased after decreasing,and the quantity of platelet had insignificant change.Weight had an increasing trend,the increasing rate of the content of serum albumin was expedited.Patients′ anxiety and depression were alleviated,at the same time their social support was strengthened.Conclusion Systematic nursing intervention had the positive effect on the holistic health status of gynecological cancer patients receiving chemotherapy.
