Evaluation on the Quality of Life of Perinatal Women in Pudong New Area in Shanghai, China

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To evaluate the quality of life(QOL)of perinatal women in Pudong New Area in Shanghai.METHOD The perinatal women in Pudong New Area were devided into 2 guoups prenatal women and postnatal women,who were investigated by SF-36 respectively.The scores of prenatal women were compared to those of younger women among residents in Pudong New Area.The scores of postnatal women were compared to those of prenatal women.RESULTS The total score of SF-36 of prenatal women was 70.04,the total score of SF-36 of postnatal women was 73.18.Compairing to the scores of younger women,QOL of prenatal women was lower than that of younger women.Compairing to the scores of prenatal women,QOL of postnatal women was lower than that of prenatal women.CONCLUSION The situation of QOL of perinatal women is not good.Great efforts should be made to improve the QOL of perinatal women,such as,encouraging family's participating,elevating perinatal women's level of KAP.
