Abstract:This paper evaluates several issues within the field of multicultural mathematics curriculum and teaching from the perspective of the development of multicultural mathematics material,the research on multicultural mathematics curriculum as well as the research on multicultural mathematics textbook and teaching.As it is concerned,the main problem is that the present mathematics curriculum and teaching has nothing to do with students' culture background.Students do not see any relationship between mathematics and their culture or their future life,which leads to negative effect on their interests and attitudes towards mathematics.Both the research and practice of multicultural mathematics curriculum and teaching indicates that only the curriculum reform which is balanced between culture and mathematics could result in the achievement of good teaching effects.
