Abstract:In this paper, we investigate impulsive Cohen–Grossberg networks with distributed delays. By Lyapunov–Kravsovskii functional and homeomorphism theory, some new sufficient conditions are established for the existence and global exponential stability of a unique equilibrium without strict conditions imposed on self-regulation functions. The obtained sufficient conditions are easy to verify, meanwhile we remove the usual assumption that the activation functions are bounded and our results improve the previously known results. It is believed that these results are significant and useful for the design and applications of Cohen–Grossberg networks. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the existence and global exponential stability of periodic solutions for a nonlinear periodic system, arising from the description of the states of neurons in delayed Cohen–Grossberg type. By the continuation theorem of coincidence degree theory and Lyapunov functionals technique, we deduce some sufficient conditions ensuring existence as well as global exponential stability of periodic solution. Some existing results are improved and extended. Even corresponding to an autonomous system, our results that these conditions are milder and less restrictive than previous known criteria since the hypothesis of boundedness and differentiability on the activation function are dropped. The theoretical analyses are verified by numerical simulations.

Abstract:Qualitative property for a class of the delayed Cohen–Grossberg neural network with high-order terms is investigated in the paper. Periodic solution is rigorously proved to be exist in this class of models by means of the Gains and Mawhin’s continuation theorem. In addition, sufficient conditions are established for both global exponential and asymptotical stability of the existent periodic solution with the aid of the Lyapunov functional and the theory of linear matrix inequality (LMI). Abstract:In this paper, we have obtained some sufficient conditions to guarantee that Cohen-Grossberg neural networks with discrete and distributed delays have a periodic orbit and this periodic orbit are globally attractive. The results presented in this paper are the improvement and extension of the existed ones in some existing works. Abstract:We investigate first the existence of periodic solution in general Cohen-Grossberg BAM neural networks with multiple time-varying delays by means of using degree theory. Then using the existence result of periodic solution and constructing a Lyapunov functional, we discuss global exponential stability of periodic solution for the above neural networks. Our result on global exponential stability of periodic solution is different from the existing results. In our result, the hypothesis for monotonicity ineqiality conditions in the works of Xia (2010) Chen and Cao (2007) on the behaved functions is removed and the assumption for boundedness in the works of Zhang et al. (2011) and Li et al. (2009) is also removed. We just require that the behaved functions satisfy sign conditions and activation functions are globally Lipschitz continuous.

Abstract:This paper focuses on the existence, uniqueness and global exponential stability of periodic solution for Cohen–Grossberg neural networks (CGNN) with periodic coefficients and time-varying delays. Some novel delay-independent criteria are obtained by using contraction mapping theorem and comparison principle. The present results improve and extend those in many publications, and shows that under some delay-independent criteria, the CGNNs may admit a periodic solution, which is globally exponential stable via impulsive controller even if it is originally unstable or divergent. Two examples with numerical simulations are given to demonstrate the efficiency of theoretical results.
