Qualitative Research on Management Model of Head Nurses

Abstract:Objectives To investigate the experience of management model of head nurses among nurses,and to provide reference of improving management for nurse managers.Methods Qualitative research method was conducted and 25 nurses without managerial position were interviewed about the experience of management model of head nurses.The data was analyzed and classified to get 3 kinds of management models.Results Among 25 participants,16 participants(64%) support the management with a flexible method mainly and a rigid method subsidiarily,5 participants(20%) support the management combining a flexible method with a rigid method,and 4 participants(16%) support the management with a rigid method mainly and a flexible method subsidiarily.Conclusions With nursing quality getting higher,the flexible management is better for improving the initiative and the creativity of nursrs due to the stronger work stress.
