Abstract:The rodent flora was investigated in Tianzhu county, Gansu province. The results showed that there were 25 species, which belonged to 4 sub-families, eight families, two orders. Cricetidae and Dchotonidae were the dominant types, and Myosplax bailey was dominant species. Seven rodent communities were classified by different habitats. The area being harmed was 152.9 thousand hm2, accounting for 39.06％ of total grassland, which frequently occurred in alpine meadow and shrub meadow

Abstract:To confirm the insect fauna,composition and diversity in Pingheliang forest region in the Qinling Mountains,an investigation was carried out by field surrey and literature consulting.It was found that there existed 2 004 insect species belonged to 29 orders,287 families,some of which distributed in Oriental realm,some in Paleo-arctic realm and the others were widely spread;at order-family and order-family-species level,dominance rates among groups were prominent.The groups and species in this region were rich.The orders that contained most families were Lepidoptera,53 families,Coleoptera,49 families and Hymenoptera,35 families,most species were Lepidoptera,594 species,Coleoptera,482 species,Hymenoptera,241 species,Homoptera,186 species Hemiptera,164 species and Diptera and 114 species.

Abstract:By investigating samples along the route we went by and at typical sample plots,the actuality of insect resources in Nanyue Hengshan National Nature Reserve was studied from April to October 2006.1150 species of insects belonging to 159 families in 17 orders from Nanyue Hengshan National Nature Reserve were identified by consulting references and entomologists with the fresh specimens and the ones in stock.There were 52 species new named and among them,29 species were only found in Nanyue Hengshan.Moreover,16 species were new recorded in China,10 species were under special state protection.Results of faunal analysis showed,the oriental species was dominant.The data of sample plots showed that the insect diversity indices in Nanyue Hengshan National Nature Reserve were higher than other areas.

Abstract:The tachinid flies play an important role in the control of pests in agriculture and forestry.In this study,Tachinidae(Diptera) from Laotudingzi National Nature Reserve in Liaoning Province,China,were investigated and over 1 500 specimens collected and examined.124 species of 68 genera in 21 tribes of 4 subfamilies were identified,separately about 10.4% and 25.1% of 1 187 tachinid species of 271 known genera in China,of which 1 genus and 4 species were newly recorded in China;viz.Zophomyia Macquart,Frontina tricolor Shima,Nilea innoxia Robineau-Desvoidy,Phryxe semicaudata Herting,Opesia cana(Meigen).36 species were newly recorded from Liaoning and 14 species were endemic to China.A preliminary analysis of the tachinid flies in this region was conducted.Specimens collected in this study were deposited in the Insect Collection of Shenyang Normal University(SNU).

Abstract:In order to understand the insect diversity in herbaceous layers in Niubeiliang National Nature Reserve,an investigation was carried out in three areas within the reserve:Qinlingliang,Beigou,and Shibianyu.A total of 3 053 specimens were identified,accounting for 442 species,98 families and 14 orders.The dominant groups were Diptera,Coleoptera,Hemiptera,Homoptera and Hymenoptera,accounting for 22.45%,18%,12%,11% and 11%,respectively of the total number of families,and 27.38%,18.55%,16.74%,13.12% and 12.9%,respectively of the total number of species.The species richness index of the 3 habitats were in the order of Qinlingliang(42.284 0)Beigou(24.464 6)Shibianyu(21.229 6),the diversity index were in the order of Beigou(4.4695)shibianyu(4.427 7)Qinlingliang(3.580 3).In addition,the species richness index and diversity index of Qinlingliang increased first and then fall with the increase of elevation.

Abstract:Objective To investigate the faunal resource of Tachinidae（Insecta: Diptera） from Mt. Lishan National Nature Reserve, Shanxi, China. Methods In July 2012 and July 2022, adult tachinid specimens were collected by net trapping at different locations and transect intervals in Mt. Lishan National Nature Reserve. The specimens collected were prepared in the laboratory and examined by comparative morphology using a stereomicroscope for classification and identification. Results According to the identification results as well as existing data, 108 tachinid species of 59 genera, 17 tribes, and 4 subfamilies were reported in the Mt. Lishan National Nature Reserve, including one newly recorded genus in China, Dionaea Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830, one newly recorded species in China, D. aurifrons（Meigen, 1824） and 12 newly recorded species in Shanxi province. Conclusions The investigations of Tachinidae resource in Mt. Lishan National Nature Reserve provide basic data for the understanding of biological resources as well as biodiversity conservation and utilization in Mt. Lishan National Nature Reserve.

Abstract:In the course of studying tachinid flies (Diptera,Tachinidae) from Liaoning Laotudingzi National Nature Reserve of China,over 1 500 specimens were examined,of which 3 species are described as new to science:Mycteromyiella zhui sp.nov.,Nemoraea angustifrons sp.nov.,Phasia huanrenensis sp.nov.; 8 species are recognized as new records in China,viz.(Ophina) takanoi Mesnil,Panzeria laevigata (Meigen) and Dicarca fluviatilis Richter.

Abstract:The reduviid subfamily Tribelocephalinae from Guizhou Province of China is taxonomically revised.Two species in two genera are recognized,described or re-described and keyed.Among them,the genus Tribelocephala Stl 1854 and the species Tribelocephala walkeri China 1940 are reported for the first time from Guizhou.In order to facilitate the correct identification,the illustrations of the dorsal habitus,the male genitalia and other diagnostic morphological features of T.walkeri are provided.

Abstract:The assassin bugs (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Reduviidae) of the sub- family Centrocnemidinae and Holoptilinae of Taiwan are surveyed, the taxa are diagnosed, illustrated, and keyed. The nomenclature of the family group name Cen- trocnemidinae is discussed. Of this subfamily, the single species Neocentrocnemis stali (Reuter, 1881) is recognized, old records of Centrocnemis deyrollii Signoret, 1852 are considered as misidentifi cations of N. stali. The following synonymies are proposed: Neocentrocnemis stali (Reuter, 1881) = N. formosana (Matsumura, 1913), syn. nov., = N. baudoni Dispons, 1965, syn. nov. The male and female genitalia of N. stali are illustrated in detail, the morphology and homologies of the male intromittent organ are discussed. Of Holoptilinae, two genera and three species are recognized. The genus Locoptiris Villiers, 1943, described from the Afrotropical Region, is recorded for the fi rst time from Taiwan; this record means also the fi rst record of the genus in the Oriental Region. Locoptiris taiwanensis sp. nov. is described as new. Ptilocerus pendleburyi Miller, 1940, described from peninsular Malaysia, is transferred to Locoptiris. Species of Locoptiris are keyed, the relationships within the genus are discussed. Ptilocerus immitis Uhler, 1896, so far known only from Japan, is recorded for the fi rst time from Taiwan.

Abstract:In this paper, a prelimitary investigation on the family Tachinidae (Insecta, Diptera) of Hanma National Nature Reserve, northwest Daxinganling Mountains, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China has been done by Shi's group members in summer, 2015 and 104 tachinid specimens were collected by Malaise traps and examined in Zhang's laboratory, and 41 tachinid species, 29 genera, 11 tribes, 4 subfamilies were recognized, including one newly recorded genus for China: Lydina Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830, four newly recorded species for China: Periscepsia (Ramonda) ringdahli (Villeneuve, 1922), Phyllomya japonica Shima, 1988, Myxexoristops abietis Herting, 1964, Lydina aenea (Meigen, 1824);and 13 newly recorded species for Inner Mongolia.All the studying specimens were kept in the Insect Collection of Shenyang Normal University (SYNU).

Abstract:In order to understand the ground insect diversity in Niubeiliang Nature Reserve,Qinling Mountains,the Pap tank trap method was adopted to capture insect samples in the locations designed in different altitudes.The dominant insects of the reserve were Hymenoptera,Diptera and Coleopter,belonging to 11 orders,55 families,and 209 species.The diversity,dominance,evenness,and richness indices were 3.217 8,0.905 0,0.602 3,and 22.210 1,respectively.Differences in diversity index were found between south and north slope of the mountain.The dominant family was Formicidae and Carabidae in low altitude area(1 200-1 990 m),while in high altitude area(1 990-2 770 m),the dominant family was Tachinidae,Carabidae,and Staphylinidae.

Abstract:The tribe Blondeliini is an important group of natural enemy insects in agriculture and forestry.In this study,180 specimens of Blondeliini from China in the Collection of Institute of Entomology,Shenyang Normal University were examined and 15 species of 7 genera were diagnosed,Oswaldia hirsuta Mesnil and O.glauca Shima are recorded for the first time to China,and 8 species are newly recorded to the Provinces of China with asterisk.

Abstract:Thread-legged assassin bugs (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Reduviidae: Emesinae) belonging to the tribes Collartidini, Leistarchini, Emesini, and Metapterini of Taiwan are surveyed. Eight genera and thirteen species are recognized, four species are described as new. Collartidini (represented by the genus Collartida Villers, 1949) is recorded for the first time not only from Taiwan but from Southeast Asia as well. Malaria ryukyuana Ishikawa & Tomokuni, 2002, Gardena albiannulata Ishikawa, 2005, and Stenolemus crassirostris Stal, 1871 are recorded for the first time from Taiwan. The species Collartida peregrina sp. n.. Bagauda zigzag sp. n.. Ploiaria huangorum sp. n., and Stenolemus alikakay sp. n. are described as new Identification keys to the species of the above tribes occurring in Taiwan are presented, and their zoogeography is briefly discussed.

Abstract:The insect distribution in Pingheliang forest region in Qinling Mountains was analyzed according to habitat and vegetation types.The results showed that totally 2 004 insect species in this region distributed in fungi,water,lichen,soil,and humic substances with the number of 15,31,40,253,and 1 335,respectively,accounting for 0.75%,1.55%,2.00%,12.62%,and 66.58% respectively.The number of the insects distributed in grass,conifer,shrub and arbor were 506,106,552,and 664 respectively,accounting for 37.90%,7.94%,41.35% and 48.24% respectively.

Abstract:Field surveys on species of Coccinellidae were conducted in 2013 in different bamboo forest located in 7 counties and cities of Zhejiang province. Total of 20 species belonging to 16 genera of 6 subfamilies of Coccinellidae were caught. Among them, two species are new records in Zhejaing province, and 16 species were first found in bamboo forest. The result demonstrated that caught numbers were order by Scymninae, Coccinellinae, Chilocorinae, Sticholotidinae, Coccidulinae and Epilachninae. The dominant species were Stethorus chengi and Calvia muiri. The common species were Exochomus nigromarginatus, Nephus bilinearis, Chilocorus kuwanae, Scymnus dichorionicus, Stethorus aptus, Harmonia axyridis.

Abstract:Oblongiala zimbabwensis Liu & Cai gen. & sp. nov. is described from Zimbabwe and placed in the subfamily Peiratinae (Hemiptera: Reduviidae). Habitus, male genitalia and some diagnostic characters of the new species are illustrated. The affinities of the new genus are discussed with a key provided to help distinguish peiratine genera distributed in the Afrotropical Region.
