Clinical Analysis of Auto Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Transplantation for Treatment of Hematologic Malignancies

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects of auto peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (APBSCT)on the treatment of hematologic malignancies.Methods Twenty-three patients with hematologic malignancies were treated by APBSCT.Eighteen of them were NHL,three of them were HD and two of them were MM.All patients accepted APBSCT,combined with chemotherapy regimen MOEP,and followed by G-CSF for PBSC mobilization.PBSC were collected in one-two aphereses to a median mononuclear cells(MNC)of(4.48±0.73)×108/kg and CD34+cells(4.46±0.96)×106/kg.NHL and HD patients receieved CTX+TBI and CTX+VP-16+Ara-C+CC-NU,MM patients receieved MeL as conditioning regimen.Results All patients were engrafted and hematopoietic reconstitution was rapid.The mean days of WBC recovery were 8.04±1.36 days(up to1.0×109/L),ANC 8.40± 1.73days(up to 0.5×109/L)and PLT 9.57±1.34 days(up to20×109/L).One patient died of disease relapse two months post-transplantation,four patients died of relapse six months post-transplantation,and other eighteen patients were still alive and disease-free for 6 to 12 months.Conclusion Our study suggests that APBSCT is a safe therapeutic option that can significantly improve the prognosis in hematologic malignant patients.
