Study on clinical effect of Yiqi Yangyin and Huoxue Prescription imposed on fatty liver in type 2 diabetes mellitus

Abstract:Objective:This paper aimed to investigate the clinical efficacies of the Yiqi Yangyin and Huoxue prescription on fatty liver in type 2 diabetes mellitus(DFL).Methods:We selected 96 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus combined with fatty liver disease which were diagnosed with deficiency of both qi and yin,blood stasis by TCM.These patients were divided into control and experimental groups randomly.They all performed basic treatment,like oral antidiabetic drug,diet control as well as more exercise to regulate the blood glucose level,while the patients of experimental group,in addition to the above treatment,were given the Chinese medicine of Yiqi Yangyin and Huoxue prescription.The treatment period was 3 months.Liver ultrasound examination and biochemical tests(including blood lipid,blood glucose,liver function) as well as scoring of the disease activity index(DAI) and evaluation of insulin resistance were carried out for those 96 patients before and after the treatment.Result:①There was no significant difference between the disease active index score of two groups before treatment,but the DAI score of the experimental group was significantly better than that of control groups after the 3-month treatment(P<0.01).②After 3 months,the blood lipid,glucose,liver function and insulin resistance of the two groups were all improved to different degrees,and those of the experimental group improved more significantly.③There was no significant difference between the DFL degree of two groups before treatment and the DFL degree of two groups was reversed to different degrees after the 3-month treatment,wherein,the DFL degree of the experimental group was significantly improved(P<0.01) and that of the control group was not significantly improved.The DFL degree of the experimental group was significantly better than that of the control group after 3 months(P<0.05).Conclusion:The Yiqi Yangyin Huoxue prescription had a favourable curative effect on fatty liver in type 2 diabetes mellitus(DFL).This TCM prescription could improve the DFL degree in liver ultrasonic,improve liver function and improve insulin resistance as well as the clinical symptom of patients with fatty liver in type 2 diabetes mellitus.
