Abstract:In this article, we study a class of boundary value problems with p-Laplacian. By using a “Green-like” functional and applying the fixed point index theory, we obtain eigenvalue criteria for the existence of positive solutions. Several explicit conditions are derived as consequences, and further results are established for the multiplicity and nonexistence of positive solutions. Extensions are also given to partial differential BVPs with p-Laplacian defined on annular domains.

By fixed point theorems, we obtain new results on the existence of at least three positive solutions of this boundary value problem, which includes and improves some related results in the relevant literature.

Abstract:This paper investigates the existence, multiplicity, nonexistence, and uniqueness of positive solutions to a kind of two-point boundary value problem for nonlinear fractional differential equations withp-Laplacian operator. By using fixed point techniques combining with partially ordered structure of Banach space, we establish some criteria for existence and uniqueness of positive solution of fractional differential equations withp-Laplacian operator in terms of different value of parameter. In particular, the dependence of positive solution on the parameter was obtained. Finally, several illustrative examples are given to support the obtained new results. The study of illustrative examples shows that the obtained results are applicable.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove a multiple critical points theorem and a nonexistence result for the eigenvalues of the p-Laplacian operator in the half space. As an application, we study the existence of positive (negative) solutions and sign-changing solutions for the boundary value problem of p-Laplacian equation in the half space, namely: {−Δpu=0in R+N|Du|p−2∂u∂n+λg(x)|u|p−2u=f(u)on ∂R+N, where 1<p<N,Δpu=div(|Du|p−2Du),λ is a positive parameter, g is a nonnegative function and f is p-superlinear at zero and asymptotically p-linear at infinity.

Abstract:We analytically establish the conditions for the existence of at least two or three positive solutions in the generalized -point boundary value problem for the -Laplacian dynamic equations on time scales by means of the Avery-Henderson fixed point theorem and the five functionals fixed point theorem. Furthermore, we illustrate the possible application of our analytical results with a concrete and nontrivial dynamic equation on specific time scales.

Abstract:We prove new results on the existence of positive solutions of one-dimensional $p$-Laplacian equations under sublinear conditions involving the first eigenvalues of the corresponding homogeneous Dirichlet boundary value problems. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first paper to use fixed point index theory of compact maps to give criteria involving the first eigenvalue for one-dimensional $p$-Laplacian equations with $p\ne 2$. Our results generalize some previous results where either $p$ is required to be greater than $2$ or the nonlinearities satisfy stronger conditions. We shall apply our results to tackle a logistic population model arising in mathematical biology.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the existence of countably many positive solutions for nth-order m-point boundary value problems consisting of the equation u(n)(t)+a(t)f(u(t))=0,t∈(0,1), with one of the following boundary value conditions: u(0)=∑i=1m−2kiu(ξi),u′(0)=⋯=u(n−2)(0)=0,u(1)=0, and u(0)=0,u′(0)=⋯=u(n−2)(0)=0,u(1)=∑i=1m−2kiu(ξi), where n≥2,ki>0(i=1,2,…,m−2),0<ξ1<ξ2<⋯<ξm−2<1,a(t)∈Lp[0,1] for some p≥1 and has countably many singularities in [0,12). The associated Green’s function for the nth order m-point boundary value problem is first given, and we show that there exist countably many positive solutions using Holder’s inequality and Krasnoselskii’s fixed point theorem for operators on a cone.
