Abstract:We propose a criterion for the separability of quantum pure states using the concept of a partial Hermitian conjugate. It is equivalent to the usual positive partial transposition criteria, with a simple physical interpretation.

These criteria include the criteria based on the correlation matrix and its generalized form as special cases. We show by detailed examples that our criteria are more powerful than the positive partial transposition criterion, the realignment criterion and the criteria based on the correlation matrices.

Abstract:We propose a method of constructing the separability criteria for multipartite quantum states on the basis of entanglement witnesses. The entanglement witnesses are obtained by finding the maximal expectation values of Hermitian operators and then optimizing over all possible Hermitian operators. We derive a set of tripartite separability criteria for the four-qubit Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) diagonal states. The derived criterion set contains four criteria that are necessary and sufficient for the tripartite separability of the highly symmetric four-qubit GHZ diagonal states; the criteria completely account for the numerically obtained boundaries of the tripartite separable state set. One of the criteria is just the tripartite separability criterion of the four-qubit generalized Werner states.

Abstract:We propose an exact simulation algorithm for lattice QCD with dynamical Kogut-Susskind fermion in which the N_f-flavor fermion operator is defined as the N_f/4-th root of the Kogut-Susskind (KS) fermion operator. The algorithm is an extension of the Polynomial Hybrid Monte Carlo (PHMC) algorithm to KS fermions. The fractional power of the KS fermion operator is approximated with a Hermitian Chebyshev polynomial, with which we can construct an algorithm for any number of flavors. The error which arises from the approximation is corrected by the Kennedy-Kuti noisy Metropolis test. Numerical simulations are performed for the two-flavor case for several lattice parameters in order to confirm the validity and the practical feasibility of the algorithm. In particular tests on a 16^4 lattice with a quark mass corresponding to m_{PS}/m_V ~ 0.68 are successfully accomplished. We conclude that our algorithm provides an attractive exact method for dynamical QCD simulations with KS fermions.

Abstract:In this paper, we discuss the partial separability and its criteria problems of multipartite qubit mixed-states. First we strictly define what is the partial separability of a multipartite qubit system. Next we give a reduction way from N-partite qubit density matrixes to bipartite qubit density matrixes, and prove a necessary condition that a N-partite qubit mixed-state to be partially separable is its reduction to satisfy the PPT condition. Abstract:A group of symmetric operators are introduced to carry out the separability criterion for bipartite and multipartite quantum states. All the symmetric operators, represented by a symmetric matrix with only two nonzero elements, and their arbitrary linear combinations are found to be entanglement witnesses. By using these symmetric operators, Wootters' separability criterion for two-qubit states can be generalized to bipartite and multipartite systems in arbitrary dimensions.

Abstract:It is well known that the positive partial transpose (PPT) criterion for determining separability is an operational separability criterion. However, in a high-dimensional (> 6) situation, this criterion is not sufficient. How can we judge whether an entangled state in any high-dimensional quantum system is PPT or not? Here we propose a linear algebra method for checking the positivity of the partial transpose of a state and present a set of entangled mixed states with non-positive partial transpose.

Abstract:We investigate the multipartite entanglement in arbitrary dimensional systems, and separability criteria for nonseparability in n -partite quantum states are derived. Examples such as the generalized noisy- W state and the GHZ basis states mixed with white noise are provided to show that our criteria are independent of and stronger than previously reported ones. Our criteria can also be expressed by the elements of the density matrix, which allows a simple and practical evaluation and computation. The experimental implementation of our criteria is also discussed.

Abstract:We present a necessary and sufficient condition for the separability of multipartite quantum states, this criterion also tells us how to write a multipartite separable state as a convex sum of separable pure states. To work out this criterion, we need to solve a set of equations, actually it is easy to solve these quations analytically if the density matrix of the given quantum state has few nonzero eigenvalues.

Abstract:We generalize the definition of strong positive partial transpose (SPPT) to the multipartite system. The tripartite case was first considered by X.-Y. Yu and H. Zhao [ Int. J. Theor. Phys.,54, 292, (2015)]. In this extension, unfortunately, desired properties such as the PPT of SPPT states the separability of super and pure SPPT states are not preserved. In contrast, this paper provides an alternative generalization to multipartite cases with these properties preserved. We also provide sufficient conditions for the separability of SPPT states.

Abstract:A Multipartite entangled state has many different kinds of entanglements specified by the number of partitions. The most essential example of multipartite entanglement is the entanglement of multi-qubit Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) state in white noise. We explicitly construct the entanglement witnesses for these states with stabilizer generators of the GHZ states. For an [Formula: see text] qubit GHZ state in white noise, we demonstrate the necessary and sufficient criterion of separability when it is divided into [Formula: see text] parties with [Formula: see text] for arbitrary [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text]. The criterion covers more than a half of all kinds of partial entanglements for [Formula: see text]-qubit GHZ states in white noise. For the rest of multipartite entanglement problems, we present a method to obtain the sufficient conditions of separability. As an application, we consider [Formula: see text] qubit GHZ state as a codeword of the degenerate quantum code passing through depolarizing channel. We find that the output state is neither genuinely entangled nor fully separable when the quantum channel capacity reduces from positive to zero.

Abstract:In this Letter, we show that the fulfillment of uncertainty relations is a sufficient criterion for a quantum-mechanically permissible state. We specifically construct two pseudo-spin observables for an arbitrary non-positive Hermitian matrix whose uncertainty relation is violated. This method enables us to systematically derive separability conditions for all negative partial-transpose states in experimentally accessible forms. In particular, generalized entanglement criteria are derived from the Schrodinger-Robertson inequalities for bipartite continuous-variable states.

Abstract:As an important physical resource, quantum entanglement is widely used in quantum information processing. The positive partial transpose criterion based on partial transpose map is a powerful method for detecting entanglement. Since the partial transpose operation is not a completely positive map, it is not a physical operation and cannot be realized by physical experiments. We approximate partial transposition map by applying structural physical approximation map so that the approximated map are completely positive and thus physically realizable. In this paper, we study the condition that is satisfied when the structural physical approximation is a completely positive map for multipartite states. Then, we give genuine multipartite entanglement criterion for multipartite pure state and full separability criterion for any multipartite quantum states. In addition we derive a generalized method for detecting -separability of N -partite quantum states. Finally, several examples are used to verify the efficiency of the presented entanglement criteria.

Criteria of absolutely separability from spectrum for qudit-qudits states

Abstract:Separability from the spectrum is a significant and ongoing research topic in quantum entanglement. In this study, we investigate properties related to absolute separability from the spectrum in qudits-qudits states in the bipartite states space $\mathcal{H}_{mn}=\mathcal{H}_m \otimes \mathcal{H}_n$. Firstly, we propose the necessary and sufficient conditions for absolute separable states in the Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}_{4n}$. These conditions are equivalent to the positive semidefiniteness of twelve matrices resulting from the symmetric matricizations of eigenvalues. Furthermore, we demonstrate that this sufficient condition can be extended to the general $\mathcal{H}_{mn}$ case, improving existing conclusions in the literature. These sufficient conditions depend only on the first few leading and last few leading eigenvalues, significantly reducing the complexity of determining absolute separable states. On the other hand, we also introduce additional sufficient conditions for determining that states in $\mathcal{H}_{mn}$ are not absolutely separable. These conditions only depend on $2m-1$ eigenvalues of the mixed states. Our sufficient conditions are not only simple and easy to implement. As applications, we derive distance bounds for eigenvalues and purity bounds for general absolutely separable states.

Abstract:The class of six-fermion production processes at e+e- colliders comprises very interesting particle reactions, such as the production of top-quark pairs and of Higgs bosons in the intermediate Higgs mass range, the scattering of massive gauge bosons, and triple gauge-boson production. The Monte Carlo event generator LUSIFER is designed for the analysis of such processes. A few illustrating results obtained with LUSIFER are discussed.

Abstract:We analyze a class of positive partial transpose states (PPT) such that the positivity of its partial transposition is recognized with respect to canonical factorization of the original density operator (Cholesky block decomposition). We call such PPT states strong PPT states (SPPT). This property, contrary to PPT, is basis dependent. It is shown that there exists a proper subset of SPPT states which are separable and provide a separable decomposition for any of these states.

Abstract:Local unitary equivalence is an important ingredient for quantifying and classifying entanglement. Verifying whether or not two quantum states are local unitary equivalent is a crucial problem, where only the case of multipartite pure states is solved. For mixed states, however, the verification of local unitary equivalence is still a challenging problem. In this paper, based on the coefficient matrices of generalized Bloch representations of quantum states, we find a variety of local unitary invariants for arbitrary-dimensional bipartite quantum states. These invariants are operational and can be used as necessary conditions for verifying the local unitary equivalence of two quantum states. Furthermore, we extend the construction to the arbitrary-dimensional multipartite case. We finally apply these invariants to estimate concurrence, a vital entanglement measure, showing the practicability of local unitary invariants in characterizing entanglement.

Abstract:Mutually unbiased bases (MUBs) and symmetric informationally complete (SIC) positive operator-valued measurements (POVMs) are two related topics in quantum information theory. They are generalized to mutually unbiased measurements (MUMs) and general symmetric informationally complete (GSIC) measurements, respectively, that are both not necessarily rank 1. We study the quantum separability problem by using these measurements and present separability criteria for bipartite systems with arbitrary dimensions and multipartite systems of multi-level subsystems. These criteria are proved to be more effective than previous criteria especially when the dimensions of the subsystems are different. Furthermore, full quantum state tomography is not needed when these criteria are implemented in experiment.

Abstract:Many works have been devoted to determining the volume of the set of separable states and the separability probability both analytically and numerically. However, computing the exact separability probability remains a highly nontrivial open problem. In these notes, we examine this problem in the simplest context of two-qubit states. A novel aspect of our method is the use of the Duistermaat-Heckman measure, which is the push-forward of Liouville measure on the coadjoint orbit along the moment map. On each coadjoint orbit, the Hilbert-Schmidt measure differs from the DuistermaatHeckman measure by a constant. The latter measure can be explicitly computed by using tools from symplectic geometry. We confirm the conjecture that the separability probability of two-qubit states with Hilbert-Schmidt measure is 8/33

Abstract:The detection of entanglement in a bipartite state is a crucial issue in quantum information science. Based on realignment of density matrices and the vectorization of the reduced density matrices, we introduce a new set of separability criteria. The proposed separability criteria can detect more entanglement than the previous separability criteria. Moreover, we provide new criteria for detecting the genuine tripartite entanglement and lower bounds for the concurrence and convex-roof extended negativity. The advantages of results are demonstrated through detailed examples.
