Abstract:A graph G is said to be super-connected if any minimum cut of G isolates a vertex. In a previous work due to the second author of this note, super-connected graphs which are both vertex transitive and edge transitive are characterized. In this note, we generalize the characterization to edge transitive graphs which are not necessarily vertex transitive, showing that the only irreducible edge transitive graphs which are not super-connected are the cycles Cn(n⩾6) and the line graph of the 3-cube, where irreducible means the graph has no vertices with the same neighbor set. Furthermore, we give some sufficient conditions for reducible edge transitive graphs to be super-connected.
On Super Connectedness and Super Restricted Edge-Connectedness of Total Graphs.

Abstract:A graph G is super-connected, super-kappa, for short if every minimum vertex-cut isolates a vertex of G. Call G super restricted edge-connected, in short, super-lambda', if every minimum restricted edge-cut isolates an edge. We view the total graph T(G) of G as the disjoint of G and the line graph L(C), together with the lines of the subdivision graph S(G); for each line l = (u, v) in G there are two lines in S(C), namely ((l) over cap, u) and ((l) over cap, v). In this paper, we prove that T(G) is super-kappa if G is a super-kappa graph with delta(G) >= 4. We also show that T(G) is super-lambda' if G is a kappa-regular graph with kappa(G) >= 3. Furthermore, we give examples which illustrate that the results are best possible.

Abstract:Let G=(V(G),E(G)) be a simple connected graph and [email protected]?E(G). An edge set F is an m-restricted edge cut if G-F is disconnected and each component of G-F contains at least m vertices. Let @l^(^m^)(G) be the minimum size of all m-restricted edge cuts and @x"m(G)=min{|@w(U)|:|U|=m and G[U] is connected}, where @w(U) is the set of edges with exactly one end vertex in U and G[U] is the subgraph of G induced by U. A graph G is [email protected]^(^m^) if @l^(^m^)(G)[email protected]"m(G). An [email protected]^(^m^) graph is called super m-restricted edge-connected if every minimum m-restricted edge cut is @w(U) for some vertex set U with |U|=m and G[U] being connected. In this note, we give a characterization of super 2-restricted edge-connected vertex transitive graphs and obtain a sharp sufficient condition for an [email protected]^(^3^) vertex transitive graph to be super 3-restricted edge-connected. In particular, a complete characterization for an [email protected]^(^2^) minimal Cayley graph to be super 2-restricted edge-connected is obtained.

Abstract:A connected graph G is super-connected (resp. super edge-connected) if every minimum vertex-cut (resp. edge-cut) isolates a vertex of G. In [Super connectivity of line graphs, Inform. Process. Lett. 94 (2005) 191-195], Xu et al. shows that a super-connected graph with minimum degree at least 4 is also super edge-connected. In this paper, a characterization of all super-connected but not super edge-connected graphs is given. It follows from this result that there is a unique super-connected but not super edge-connected graph with minimum degree 3, that is, the Ladder graph L(3) of order 6, and that there are infinitely many super-connected but not super edge-connected graphs with minimum degree 1 or 2. Abstract:The conditional diagnosability and the 2-extra connectivity are two important parameters to measure ability of diagnosing faulty processors and fault-tolerance in a multiprocessor system. The conditional diagnosability tc(G) of G is the maximum number t for which G is conditionally t-diagnosable under the comparison model, while the 2-extra connectivity κ2(G) of a graph G is the minimum number k for which there is a vertex-cut F with |F|=k such that every component of G−F has at least 3 vertices. A quite natural problem is what is the relationship between the maximum and the minimum problem? This paper partially answers this problem by proving tc(G)=κ2(G) for a regular graph G with some acceptable conditions. As applications, the conditional diagnosability and the 2-extra connectivity are determined for some well-known classes of vertex-transitive graphs, including, star graphs, (n,k)-star graphs, alternating group networks, (n,k)-arrangement graphs, alternating group graphs, Cayley graphs obtained from transposition generating trees, bubble-sort graphs, k-ary n-cube networks, dual-cubes, pancake graphs and hierarchical hypercubes as well. Furthermore, many known results about these networks are obtained directly.

Abstract:The double-orbit graph is a generalization of vertex transitive graphs, which contains many classic network models. Conditional edge-connectivity is an important index to measure the fault-tolerance and reliability of the networks. In this paper, we characterize the super-?(2) double-orbit graphs with two orbits of the same size. Moreover, we give a sufficient condition for regular double-orbit graphs to be ?(3)-optimal, and characterize super- ?(3) regular double-orbit graphs.

Abstract:For a graph G, let (G) over bar and L(G) denote the complement graph and the line graph of G, and let (G) over bar denote the jump graph of G. It is well-known that (G) (G) (G). A graph G is called maximally edge connected if G has edge connectivity of its minimum degree and is called super-(edge-)connected if for every minimum vertex(edge) cut S of G, G - S has isolated vertices. In this paper, we apply previous results of edge-connectivity and super-connectivity and super-edge-connectivity to give the following four results on jump graphs: (1) Characterization of the graph G having (J (G)) = 2; (2) If J(G) is connected, then J(G) is maximally edge connected; (3) Characterization of the graph G whose J(G) is super edge connected but not super-connected; (4) Give a sufficient condition for J(G) is super edge connected.

Abstract:A conditional connectivity is the generalization of the traditional connectivity and can provide more accurate measures regarding the reliability of a large-scale multiprocessor system. The extra edge connectivity and component edge connectivity are two parameters for the reliability evaluation. Although these two measures have attracted considerable attention and been determined for many classes of graphs in recent years, they are established independently. In this paper, we determine the relationship between extra edge connectivities and component edge connectivities of regular networks. Using this relationship, the extra edge connectivity and component edge connectivity are explored for some well-known graphs, including BC graphs, data center networks, augmented k-ary n-cubes, hierarchical star networks, burnt pancake graphs, (n, k)-star graphs, etc. (c) 2020 Elsevier B.V. Abstract:Let $\mathcal{H}$ be a set of given connected graphs. A graph $G$ is said to be $\mathcal{H}$-free if $G$ contains no $H$ as an induced subgraph for any $H\in \mathcal{H}$. The graph $G$ is super-edge-connected if each minimum edge-cut isolates a vertex in $G$. In this paper, except for some special graphs, we characterize all forbidden subgraph sets $\mathcal{H}$ such that every $\mathcal{H}$-free is super-edge-connected for $|\mathcal{H}|=1$ and $2$.

Abstract:Tutte introduced the theory of nowhere zero flows and showed that a plane graph G has a face k-coloring if and only if G has a nowhere zero A-flow, for any Abelian group A with |A|=k. In 1992, Jaeger et al. [9] extended nowhere zero flows to group connectivity of graphs: given an orientation D of a graph G, if for any b:V(G)@?A with @?\"v\"@?\"V\"(\"G\")b(v)=0, there always exists a map f:E(G)@?A-{0}, such that at each v@?V(G), @?e=vw is directed from v to wf(e)-@?e=uv is directed from u to vf(e)=b(v) in A, then G is A-connected. Let Z\"3 denote the cyclic group of order 3. In [9], Jaeger et al. (1992) conjectured that every 5-edge-connected graph is Z\"3-connected. In this paper, we proved the following. (i)Every 5-edge-connected graph is Z\"3-connected if and only if every 5-edge-connected line graph is Z\"3-connected. (ii)Every 6-edge-connected triangular line graph is Z\"3-connected. (iii)Every 7-edge-connected triangular claw-free graph is Z\"3-connected. In particular, every 6-edge-connected triangular line graph and every 7-edge-connected triangular claw-free graph have a nowhere zero 3-flow.

Abstract:Let $G$ be a connected graph with minimum degree $\delta(G)$ and vertex-connectivity $\kappa(G)$. The graph $G$ is $k$-connected if $\kappa(G)\geq k$, maximally connected if $\kappa(G) = \delta(G)$, and super-connected (or super-$\kappa$) if every minimum vertex-cut isolates a vertex of minimum degree. In this paper, we show that a connected graph or a connected triangle-free graph is $k$-connected, maximally connected or super-connected if the number of edges or the spectral radius is large enough.

Abstract:More than ten years ago in 2008, a new kind of graph coloring appeared in graph theory, which is the {\it rainbow connection coloring} of graphs, and then followed by some other new concepts of graph colorings, such as {\it proper connection coloring, monochromatic connection coloring, and conflict-free connection coloring} of graphs. In about ten years of our consistent study, we found that these new concepts of graph colorings are actually quite different from the classic graph colorings. These {\it colored connection colorings} of graphs are brand-new colorings and they need to take care of global structural properties (for example, connectivity) of a graph under the colorings; while the traditional colorings of graphs are colorings under which only local structural properties (adjacent vertices or edges) of a graph are taken care of. Both classic colorings and the new colored connection colorings can produce the so-called chromatic numbers. We call the colored connection numbers the {\it global chromatic numbers}, and the classic or traditional chromatic numbers the {\it local chromatic numbers}. This paper intends to clarify the difference between the colored connection colorings and the traditional colorings, and finally to propose the new concepts of global colorings under which global structural properties of the colored graph are kept, and the global chromatic numbers.

Abstract:Let G be a finite group, S(possibly, contains the identity element) be a subset of G. The Bi-Cayley graph BC(G, S) is a bipartite graph with vertex set G x {0, 1} and edge set {{(g, 0), (gs, 1)}, g is an element of G, s is an element of S}. A graph X is said to be super-edge-connected if every minimum edge cut of X is a set of edges incident with some vertex. The restricted edge connectivity lambda'(X) of X is the minimum number of edges whose removal disconnects X into nontrivial components. A k-regular graph X is said to be optimally super-edge-connected if X is super-edge-connected and its restricted edge connectivity attains the maximum 2k-2. In this paper, we show that all connected Bi-Cayley graphs, except even cycles, are optimally super-edge-connected.

Abstract:An edge cut of a connected graph is called restricted if it separates this graph into components each having order at least 2; a graph G is super restricted edge connected if G-F contains an isolated edge for every minimum restricted edge cut F of G. It is proved in this paper that a connected regular edge-transitive graph of valency at least 3 is not super restricted edge connected if and only if it is either the three dimensional hypercube, or a tetravalent edge-transitive graph of girth 3 and of order at least 6. As a result, there are infinitely many k-regular Hamiltonian graphs with k=3 which are not super restricted edge connected. This answers negatively a question in [J. Ou, F. Zhang, Super restricted edge connectivity of regular graphs, Graphs & Combin. 21 (2005) 459-467] regarding the relationship between restricted edge connected graphs and Hamiltonian graphs.

Abstract:Let G be a 2-edge-connected undirected graph, A be an (additive) abelian group and A* = A−{0}. Abstract:Let G=(V,E)be a connected graph.A vertex-cut X iS said to be a 3-restricted cut of G if G-X is not connected and every component of G-X has at least three vertices.The 3-restricted connectivity k3(G)of a connected graph G is defined as the minimum cardinality of a 3-restricted cut.Additionally,if G is a graph with girth g≥4 such that the deletion of every minimum 3-restricted cut isolates a 2-path,then G iS said to be super 3-restricted connected.In this paper,we give some sufficient conditions for a graph to be super 3-restricted connected in terms of the girth and the diameter,we also study super 3-restricted edge connected graph.
