Clinical application of Chinese version of neuropsychological test battery in the dignosis of mild cognitive impairment in the elderly objectives

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the value of the Chinese version of NTB in the diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment(MCI).Methods MMSE,ADAS-cog,ADL and NTB were administered to MCI and normal groups.Results There were significant differences between the two groups in the mean total scores of MMSE and ADAS-cog.The results of NTB tests demonstrated that there were significant differences between the two groups in seven of the subtests at 0.01 level.Among the significant variables,RAVLT-I and WMVer-D finally entered into the standardized canonical discriminant functions.The sensitivity of NTB in discriminating MCI was 80.0% and the speciality was 78.4%.The AUCs of NTB total score,RAVLT-I score and RAVLT-D to discriminate MCI from NC were 0.877,0.833 and 0.818.Conclusions RAVLT-I,RAVLT-D and WMVer-D can discriminate MCI from normal controls and thus are sensitive tools in early detection of Alzheimer disease.
