Abstract:A Predator–Prey system is proposed with an introduction of anorexia response on one prey population. By using the comparison theorem and constructing suitable Lyapunov function, we study such Predator–Prey system with almost periodic coefficients. Some sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of a unique almost periodic solution. Numerical simulations of Predator–Prey system with anorexia response and the one without anorexia response are performed. Our observations suggest that anorexia response on one prey population has a destabilizing effect on the persistence of such Predator–Prey system.

Abstract:This paper deals with a diffusive Leslie-Gower predator-prey system with Holling-type IV functional response and homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition. We first give a priori estimate for positive steady states to the system. Then we obtain the existence and non-existence results of non-constant positive steady states. Finally, we investigate bifurcation and stability of the positive solutions to the predator-prey system are studied. It is shown that the system admits a non-constant positive steady states provided that the corresponding parameter is large.

Abstract:Abstract In the present article, we propose and analyze a new mathematical model for a predator–prey system including the following terms: a Monod–Haldane functional response (a generalized Holling type IV), a term describing the anti-predator behavior of prey populations and one for an impulsive control strategy. In particular, we establish the existence condition under which the system has a locally asymptotically stable prey-eradication periodic solution. Violating such a condition, the system turns out to be permanent. Employing bifurcation theory, some conditions, under which the existence and stability of a positive periodic solution of the system occur but its prey-eradication periodic solution becomes unstable, are provided. Furthermore, numerical simulations for the proposed model are given to confirm the obtained theoretical results.

Abstract:In this paper, we study complex dynamics of a non-autonomous predator-prey system with a Holling type II functional response and predator being generalist. We first studied basic dynamics such as boundedness, positive invariance, permanence, non-persistence and globally asymptotic stability. We also provide sufficient conditions for the existence, uniqueness and globally asymptotic stability of positive periodic solutions and boundary periodic solutions of the proposed model when parameters are periodic. We give the integral conditions to prove the extinction of prey and predator and globally asymptotic stability of boundary periodic solutions, and we show that these conditions have more reasonable biological interpretation than those expressed by supremum and infimum of parameters in some literature. We also perform numerical simulations to complement our analytical results and obtain more insights. Some of our numerical simulations indicate that periodic system may promote or suppress the permanence of its autonomous version with parameters being the averages of periodic parameters.

Abstract:In this paper, a stochastic two-predator one-prey system with modified Leslie–Gower and Holling-type II functional response is proposed, which is randomly disturbed by the well-known mean-reverting Ornstein–Uhlenbeck process. By Itoˆ’s integral formula, stochastic comparison theorem, the strong law of large number theorem for martingales, and modeling and analysis methods in stochastic differential equations, the existence and uniqueness of the global positive solution for the system are discussed. Then, the additional conditions for the persistence in the mean and extinction of the system are obtained, respectively. Besides, the effects of the speed of reversion and the intensity of volatility in the Ornstein–Uhlenbeck process on the dynamics of the system are investigated. Furthermore, the ergodic stationary distribution of the system under a low-level intensity of stochastic noise is also derived, which indicates that x, y1 and y2 will be persist and fluctuate around the positive values. Finally, a series of numerical examples are provided to verify the correctness of the theoretical analysis.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose a Holling-IV predator-prey system considering the perturbation of a slow-varying environmental capacity parameter. This study aims to address how the slowly varying environmental capacity parameter affects the behavior of the system. Based on bifurcation theory and the slow-fast analysis method, the critical condition for the Hopf bifurcation of the autonomous system is given. The oscillatory behavior of the system under different perturbation amplitudes is investigated, corresponding mechanism explanations are given, and it is found that the motion pattern of the non-autonomous system is closely related to the Hopf bifurcation and attractor types of the autonomous system. Meanwhile, there is a bifurcation hysteresis behavior of the system in bursting oscillations, and the bifurcation hysteresis mechanism of the system is analyzed by applying asymptotic theory, and its hysteresis time length is calculated. The final study found that the larger the perturbation amplitude, the longer the hysteresis time. These results can provide theoretical analyses for the prediction, regulation, and control of predator-prey populations.

Abstract:Based on the research on the predator–prey model with Holling type response function, a delayed predator–prey system with diffusion term and habitat complexity effect is established, and the effects of time delay and diffusion on dynamical behavior of the system are studied. First, taking habitat complexity as the parameter, the dynamical properties of the system without time delay are studied. By eigenvalue analysis, the sufficient conditions for locally asymptotic stability of the positive equilibrium and globally asymptotic stability of the boundary equilibrium are given, the existence conditions of Hopf bifurcation induced by diffusion term are discussed. In an appropriate range, diffusion makes a family of spatially homogeneous and inhomogeneous periodic solutions bifurcate from the positive equilibrium. Second, taking production delay as the bifurcation parameter, the existence conditions of Hopf bifurcation are given, the method to determine the bifurcation direction and the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions is given by using the center manifold theory and normal form method. Finally, the biological interpretations of the results are given, and some numerical simulations are given to verify the theoretical analysis results.

Abstract:In this paper, we use a semi-discretization method to consider the predator–prey model of Leslie type with ratio-dependent simplified Holling type IV functional response. First, we discuss the existence and stability of the positive fixed point in total parameter space. Subsequently, through using the central manifold theorem and bifurcation theory, we obtain sufficient conditions for the flip bifurcation and Neimark–Sacker bifurcation of this system to occur. Finally, the numerical simulations illustrate the existence of Neimark–Sacker bifurcation and obtain some new dynamical phenomena of the system—the existence of a limit cycle. Corresponding biological meanings are also formulated.

Abstract:Keeping ecological balance between prey and predator population in ocean fishery is of great importance in fishery. A free developed two species prey–predator model with Holling-II functional response is carried out, and its fine case equilibrium is discussed. Then, the state feedback model which assumes the harvest of predator and supplement of prey as impulsive disturbance is presented to find the dynamical balance between prey and predator population. The existence of homoclinic cycle and order-1 periodic solution and the orbital asymptotical stability of the order-1 periodic solution are proved. Finally, some numerical simulations are displayed to confirm the results obtained in the paper.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a Holling type II predator–prey system with prey refuge, Allee effect, fear effect and time delay. The existence and stability of the equilibria of the system are investigated. Under the variation of the delay as a parameter, the system experiences a Hopf bifurcation at the positive equilibrium when the delay crosses some critical values. We also analyze the direction of Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcating periodic solution by the center manifold theorem and normal form theory. We show that the influence of fear effect and Allee effect is negative, while the impact of the prey refuge is positive. In particular, the birth rate plays an important role in the stability of the equilibria. Examples with associated numerical simulations are provided to prove our main results.

Abstract:Abstract Based on the effects of white noise and colored noise, we propose a stochastic Holling-III predator–prey model in an impulsive polluted environment. Firstly, we prove an existence and uniqueness theorem of the presented model. Secondly, we establish sufficient criteria of extinction, nonpersistence in mean, and weak persistence in mean for both prey and predator species. Thirdly, with the aid of Lyapunov functions, we prove that this system is ergodic and has a unique stationary distribution under certain conditions. Finally, we verify the theoretical results by performing some numerical simulations.

Abstract:By applying the comparison theorem, Lyapunov functional, and almost periodic functional hull theory of the impulsive differential equations, this paper gives some new sufficient conditions for the uniform persistence, global asymptotical stability, and almost periodic solution to a nonautonomous Lotka-Volterra predator-prey dispersal system with impulsive effects. The main results of this paper extend some corresponding results obtained in recent years. Abstract:In this paper, we mainly explore the dynamical behaviors of a delayed predator–prey system with Holling-III functional response. First, for the corresponding non-delayed model, we study some basic properties of its equilibria, and the effects of the parameter c on the unique positive equilibrium. Next, for the delayed system, the local stability and Hopf bifurcation of the positive equilibrium are analyzed by choosing the sum of two time delays as a bifurcation parameter. In particular, the delayed model with double delays can be converted to the delayed model with the single delay through variable transformations. Further, using the normal form method and center manifold theorem, we derive the explicit formulae for determining the direction of Hopf bifurcation. Finally, numerical simulations of all these findings are carried out for verifying our theoretical results.

Abstract:This study aims to investigate a diffusive predator–prey system incorporating additional food for predators, prey refuge, fear effect, and its carry-over effects. For the temporal model, the well-posedness and persistence of the system have been discussed. We investigated the existence and the stability behavior of the various equilibria. Furthermore, we explored the bifurcations of codimension-1 including transcritical, saddle-node, and Hopf, concerning the crucial parameters. The system also presents codimension-2 bifurcations such as Bogdanov–Takens and cusp bifurcation along with the global homoclinic bifurcation. We observed the bubbling phenomena, which illustrate the fluctuations in the amplitudes of the periodic oscillations. For the spatiotemporal system, we established the non-negativity and boundedness of the solutions. We derived the conditions for the diffusion-driven instabilities in a confined region with Neumann boundary conditions. Extensive numerical simulations have been conducted to depict the various stationary patterns in Turing space. It is observed that incorporating cross-diffusion divides the bi-parametric plane into various sub-regions and dynamic patterns are analyzed in these different regions. The intricate spatiotemporal dynamics exhibited by prey–predator interactions are crucial for unraveling the intricacies within ecological systems.

Abstract:In view of the logical consistence, the model of a two-prey one-predator system with Beddington-DeAngelis functional response and impulsive control strategies is formulated and studied systematically. By using the Floquet theory of impulsive equation, small amplitude perturbation method, and comparison technique, we obtain the conditions which guarantee the global asymptotic stability of the two-prey eradication periodic solution. We also proved that the system is permanent under some conditions. Numerical simulations find that the system appears the phenomenon of competition exclusion.
