Abstract:In this brief, we discuss some variants of generalized Halanay inequalities that are useful in the discussion of dissipativity and stability of delayed neural networks, integro-differential systems, and Volterra functional differential equations. We provide some generalizations of the Halanay inequality, which is more accurate than the existing results. As applications, we discuss invariant set, dissipative synchronization, and global asymptotic stability for the Hopfield neural networks with infinite delays. We also prove that the dynamical systems with unbounded time-varying delays are globally asymptotically stable.

Abstract:In this paper, the discrete fractional-order Halanay inequality with distributed delays is introduced. Then, based on the generalized discrete fractional Halanay inequality and Lyapunov functional method, several novel Mittag-Leffler stability and synchronization conditions of discrete fractional-order neural network systems with distributed delays are derived. Finally, an example is given to illustrated one of the results.

Abstract:The main results of the paper are improvements on the stability analysis of Halanay inequalities with time-varying coefficients in both continuous-time and discrete-time setting. Three classes of improved conditions are established to ensure that the solution to the Halanay inequality is uniformly exponentially stable. The merit of the proposed new conditions is that the coefficients of the Halanay inequality can be unbounded and sign indefinite. This is achieved by using the notion and properties of uniformly asymptotic stable (UAS) functions. Based on the improved stability conditions for the Halanay inequality and the Lyapunov Razumikhin approach, three classes of sufficient conditions are established for testing the stability of time-varying time-delay systems. Finally, the advantages of the proposed methods are illustrated by some numerical examples with some of them borrowed from the literature.

Abstract:The main objective of this paper is to extend previous results on Halanay inequality for impulsive delayed dynamical systems. Based on the Razumikhin technique, a generalized Halanay differential inequality on impulsive delayed dynamical systems is analytically established. Compared with some existing works, the distinctive feature of this work is that it can be used to stabilize an unstable delayed dynamical system via impulses. The generalized Halanay inequality may be applied to secure communication systems, and a numerical example is given for illustrating and interpreting the theoretical results.

Abstract:In this article, the Halanay inequality is generalized into the time-varying version under simple and natural conditions, without constant to bound the time-varying coefficients. The solution of the underlying inequality is estimated by virtue of the feasible function pair associated with the coefficients and delays. Corollaries are given for typical special cases. Some approaches are illustrated for the searching of the initial feasible pairs, and an iterative procedure is proposed for the optimization of the feasible pairs. The usage and superiority of the obtained result are exhibited by numerical examples with simulations. As a base, the comparison principle for the functional differential inequalities and equations with arbitrary time-varying delays is studied first. As an application of the main result, the stability and control of the stochastic systems with time-varying coefficients and delays are investigated, with the main concern to the time variance. An asymptotic stability theorem and a criterion are established, and an interesting control strategy with unbounded time delay, namely the pantograph delay sampled data based feedback, is proposed. The stability criterion and the control strategy are illustrated and verified with numerical experiments.

Abstract:This paper focuses on the asymptotic behavior of nonautonomous neural networks with delays. We establish criteria for analyzing the asymptotic behavior of nonautonomous recurrent neural networks with delays by means of constructing some new generalized Halanay inequalities. We do not require to constructi any complicated Lyapunov function and our results improve some existing works. Lastly, we provide some illustrative examples to demonstrate the effectiveness of the obtained results.

Abstract:In this paper, some Gronwall-type integral inequalities with discrete and distributed delays are explored to analyze differential or integral systems with hybrid delays. These new inequalities generalize some previous ones which have played an important part in the research on dynamic behavior of systems. Based on the established Henry-Gronwall type integral inequality, an improved criterion is derived to ensure the finite-time stability for a class of fractional-order neural networks with hybrid delays. Finally, some numerical examples are provided to show the effectiveness and the less conservativeness of the obtained criterion.

A generalized fractional Halanay inequality and its applications

Abstract:This paper is concerned with a generalized Halanay inequality and its applications to fractional-order delay linear systems. First, based on a sub-semigroup property of Mittag-Leffler functions, a generalized Halanay inequality is established. Then, applying this result to fractional-order delay systems with an order-preserving structure, an optimal estimate for the solutions is given. Next, inspired by the obtained Halanay inequality, a linear matrix inequality is designed to derive the Mittag-Leffler stability of general fractional-order delay linear systems. Finally, numerical examples are provided to illustrate the proposed theoretical results.

Abstract:Recurrent neural networks have become a prominent tool for optimizations including linear or nonlinear variational inequalities and programming, due to its regular mathematical properties and well-defined parallel structure. This brief presents a general discrete-time recurrent network for linear variational inequalities and related optimization problems with hybrid constraints. In contrary to the existing discrete-time networks, this general model can operate not only on bound constraints, but also on hybrid constraints comprised of inequality, equality and bound constraints. The model has dynamical properties of global convergence, asymptotical and exponential convergences under some weaker conditions. Numerical examples demonstrate its efficacy and performance.

Abstract:This paper studies the stability and control of fractional neural networks by Halanay inequality technique. Based on the fractional comparison principle and supremum and infimum principle, a novel fractional non-autonomous Halanay inequality is developed. The fractional non-autonomous Halanay inequality is in a form of integral, which considers the global nature of the system parameters and reduces estimation error. By combining the Halanay inequality with a maximum auxiliary function, an asymptotically stable discriminant condition for fractional Hopfield time-delay neural networks is established in an algebraic form. Moreover, event trigger control for fractional neural networks is studied. Low network bandwidth costs and high control efficiency are guaranteed by a Mittag-Leffler type event-triggered mechanism. Then, a discriminant condition on the event trigger control for fractional neural networks is established. The advantages of the proposed methods are demonstrated by three numerical examples.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the stability analysis of time-varying delay neural networks. By introducing some new delay integral terms and relaxation matrix, an augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF) is constructed. In dealing with the inequality relations, a new method is proposed to deal with the integral term, which makes the inequality contain more neural network information and delay information. By solving the convergence of inequalities, the conservatism of the stability condition is improved and a more larger admissible maximum upper bounds (AMUBs) is obtained. Finally, some numerical examples are given to prove the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract:We study the convergence of a class of discrete recurrent neural networks to solve linear variational inequality problem (LVIP). LVIP has important applications in engineering and economics. Not only the network's exponential convergence for the case of positive definite matrix is proved, but its global convergence for positive semidefinite matrix is also proved. Abstract:This paper deals with the problem of stability of neural networks with leakage, discrete and distributed delays. A new Lyapunov functional which contains some new double integral terms are introduced. By using appropriate model transformation that shifts the considered systems into the neutral-type time-delay system, and by making use of some inequality techniques, delay-dependent criteria are developed to guarantee the stability of the considered system. Abstract:This study is concerned with the problem of stability analysis for neutral type neural networks with discrete and distributed delays. By making full use of a novel integral inequality proved to be less conservative than the celebrated Jensen׳s inequality, new stability results are established. Besides, a multiple integral inequality is also proposed firstly in neutral type neural networks with mixed delays. Based on the integral inequality, improved stability criteria in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) are derived by constructing an appropriate Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional including the multiple integral terms showed to have a great potential efficient in practice. Furthermore, less conservative stability results are obtained by dividing the distributed delay into multiple nonuniformly subinterval. Finally, numerical examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness and advantages of the theoretical results.
