The Interaction Between Global Value Chain and National Value Chain of Advanced Technology Industry: Analysis Basing on Non-Competitive Input-Output Model

Abstract:Based on non-competitive input-output model,a new framework was interrelated to analyses the interaction between global value chain and national value chain of advanced technology industry,that is using added domestic value index weighted by improved revealed comparative advantage to measure the status of global value chains,and using sectoral composition of input-output coefficient to measure the condition of domestic value chain,both of two value chain were interacted through domestic investment structure.Through cross-period and multi-nation comparison,as well as empirical analysis we found that upgrading of domestic value chain would clearly promotes the status of global value chains:(1) High-end and production-based inputs plays a key role in enhance the status of global value chains;(2) Resource-based inputs is not conducive to the upgrading of global value chains;(3) The advanced technology industry of China has gradually dominated by production-based inputs rather than resource-based,but the limited high-end inputs will be a serious block in upgrading the global value chain.Finally,we concluded the policy recommendations for the development of China's advanced technology industry basing on the empirical analysis.
