Abstract:The psychology of military women has received attention from both military psychology and female psychology.Researches on it are getting more and more important with the rising number of military women.The aim of this research is to introduce the leading researches abroad,and improve the mental health level and status of military women.Existing studies mainly focuse on: (1) The career role of military women: What's the role of personality in career choices? How do military women fulfill their role adaption? The relationship between gender role stereotypes and requisite military leadership characteristics.How do elite military women break through the brass ceiling? (2) The stress of being a military woman.Gender stress,military sexual trauma, the effects of sexual harassment on turnover in the military,sexual assault and its impact on sexual satisfaction. What's the psychiatric symptoms among military men and women exposed to sexual stressors? The stress from family,the patterns of intimate partner violence among married women in the military,the protective roles of effortful control and maternal social support research evidence to update practice guidelines for domestic violence screening in military settings.Stress of women veterans: What researches do we need to know about the integration of women veterans?The "homelessness" of women veterans and how to improve health care for women veterans.(3) The gender difference in health.How dissociation during intense military stress is related to subsequent somatic symptoms in women? Can smoking and low body weight predit low military readiness among women? Military women's menstrual experiences and interest in menstrual suppression during deployment.The impact of pregnancy on the individual and military organization.(4)Women undertaking combat task.How to integrate women into the modern army.Is deployment different for women? The mental health of military women in combat support occupations.What should physicians know about women and war?(5)Women's effects on the army: How to be suit for and succeed in training for traditionally masculine and feminine army functions? Future studies are needed to closely examine more specified topics,and explore cross-cultural differences in military women.
