Abstract:Progresses in the reaction mechanism,hydrogenation catalysts,acid catalysts and bifunctional catalysts of catalytic hydrogenation of nitrobenzene to p-aminophenol preparation technology were reviewed. The monometallic,bimetallic catalysts and the acid catalysts,which consist of solid acid,acidic ionic liquid and CO2/H2O acid reaction system,were discussed systematically. The advantages and disadvantages of various kinds of catalysts were compared and analyzed. Furthermore,the development prospects of metal-solid acid bifunctional catalysts, bimetallic catalysts and novel metal nanoparticles catalysts encapsulated by molecular sieve were forecasted.

Abstract:Water-tolerant solid acid catalysts play an important role in the development of environmentally friendly new chemical reactions.The present situation and advances in development of inorganic and organic water-tolerant solid acid catalysts are reviewed.Based on the structural analysis of solid acid catalysts,factors influencing the water-tolerant property of solid acids are compared.It can be concluded that metal oxides and its composites,metal phosphates,heteropoly compounds are perspective water-tolerant solid acid catalysts on which further researches should be focused.

Abstract:Acid catalysts have been widely applied in petrochemical enginerring, arometic compound alkylation and esterification reaction etc. In this paper, solid acids and supperacids such as zeolite, active clays and suported superacids were prepared and applied in esterification reaction of n-butanol with acetic acid. The results showed that solid acids were much better than liquid acid in selectivity especialy in protecting environments from polution.

Abstract:A general review is given over the research advances in SCR of NOx with ammonia or hydrocarbons over transition metal-based zeolite catalysts in last 10 years.In NH3-SCR system,Cu and Fe based zeolite catalysts are particularly addressed,the deactivation reasons of these catalysts is discussed as well.In HC-SCR system,the effects of different metals,zeolite types,reducing agents,water vapor,sulfur dioxide on the activity of catalysts are summarized,and the well accepted reaction mechanism of HC-SCR is introduced.The future research directions for SCR over zeolite-based catalyst are also included.

Abstract:In this review we focus on the catalytic removal of a series of N-containing exhaust gases with various valences, including nitriles (HCN, CH3CN, and C2H3CN), ammonia (NH3), nitrous oxide (N2O), and nitric oxides (NO(x)), which can cause some serious environmental problems, such as acid rain, haze weather, global warming, and even death. The zeolite catalysts with high internal surface areas, uniform pore systems, considerable ion-exchange capabilities, and satisfactory thermal stabilities are herein addressed for the corresponding depollution processes. The sources and toxicities of these pollutants are introduced. The important physicochemical properties of zeolite catalysts, including shape selectivity, surface area, acidity, and redox ability, are described in detail. The catalytic combustion of nitriles and ammonia, the direct catalytic decomposition of N2O, and the selective catalytic reduction and direct catalytic decomposition of NO are systematically discussed, involving the catalytic behaviors as well as mechanism studies based on spectroscopic and kinetic approaches and molecular simulations. Finally, concluding remarks and perspectives are given. In the present work, emphasis is placed on the structure-performance relationship with an aim to design an ideal zeolite-based catalyst for the effective elimination of harmful N-containing compounds.

Abstract:Mesoporous core-shell structure Ag@SiO2 nanospheres are constructed to prevent Ag nanoparticles from aggregation during the hydrogenation reaction. The prepared catalyst shows superior catalytic performance for hydrogenation of nitro compounds with 100% conversion and selectivity without any by-products, which also indicates good recycling performance for several times use.

Abstract:AgNaZSM-5 was prepared by ion-exchange and the acid properties of AgNaZSM-5 zeolite catalyst were characterized by pyridine-infrared spectroscopy (Py-IR), NH 3-temperature programmed desorption (NH 3-TPD) and the reaction of n-hexane cracking. The results showed that Ag cations in zeolite were easily reduced by hydrogen or n-hexane, the cation sites of zeolite became protonic cations and exhibited acid catalysis. Ag species were Ag + in the cation sites of zeolite catalyst in oxidation atmosphere.
Promoting Metal Oxides–zeolite Electron Interaction on MnCeOx/HY Catalyst for Boosting Nitrogen Oxides Reduction

Abstract:The MnOx-CeO2 metal oxides are considered as promising alternative catalysts for selective catalytic reduction with NH3 (NH3-SCR) to remove NOx due to its excellent low-temperature performance. However, their strong oxidative ability can lead to NH3 over-oxidation, narrowing the active temperature range and reducing N2 selectivity. Moreover, their weak surface acidity hampers medium to high-temperature activity and alkali metal resistance. Hence, in this study, MnCeOx metal oxides were coupled with HY zeolite to create MnCeOx/HY, demonstrating excellent NH3-SCR performance. The high dispersion of metal oxides on the zeolite surface and their close integration promoted strong electron interaction, effectively reducing oxygen vacancies and surface adsorbed oxygen concentrations. Consequently, the oxidative ability of active metal oxides was appropriately weakened, suppressing undesirable side reactions. MnCeOx/HY also notably suppressed NO adsorption and nitrate formation, promoting the catalytic reaction solely through the E-R mechanism and enhancing N2 selectivity. The abundant strong acid sites on the zeolite surface facilitates NH3 adsorption at moderate to high temperatures, notably expanding the active temperature window. Furthermore, the acid sites of HY zeolite serve as sacrificial sites, preferentially reacting with alkali metals, thus exhibiting excellent resistance to alkali metal poisoning on MnCeOx/HY. Combining with the DFT results, the structure-activity relationships in this study also reveal the importance of the effective synergy between acid sites and redox sites for optimal catalytic performance, offering valuable insights into the development of highly active and alkali-resistant denitrification catalysts.

Abstract:Selective catalytic reduction of NO with methane(CH4-SCR) has been deemed as a promising method to replace NH3-SCR because methane is low cost and easily obtained.Zeolite based catalysts have been widely researched because of their high catalytic activity.However,the hydrothermal stability of these catalysts is unsatisfied,which makes the none-zeolite based catalyst received considerable attention recently.In this paper,advances in supported none-zeolite catalysts for CH4-SCR are reviewed,especially focused on the catalytic activity,reaction mechanism and the promotion effect of the two types of catalysts based respectively on solid super acid and metal oxides.With the comparison of the properties of these catalysts,the application and further research direction on CH4-SCR are proposed.
Studies on n-butane isomerization reaction on solid oxide super acid Pt-SO4 2- /ZrO2-Al2O3 catalysts

Abstract:The composite solid oxide super acid Pt-SO4 2- /ZrO2-Al2O3 catalyst was prepared, and its structure, surface properties and catalytic activities for n-butane isomerization reaction were investigated by XRD, XPS, SEM, FT-IR. The results showed that the optimum A12O3 loading in the catalyst made ZrO2 tetragonal phase stable, prevented the transformation of ZrO2 from tetragonal phase to monoclinic phase. Pt doping on SO 4 2- /ZrO2-Al2O3 improved the catalytic activities for n-butane isomerization reaction. When the content of Al was 1.5% in the catalyst, the yield of i-butane was 37%, and its selectivity reached 70% above.

Abstract:In this paper,recent advances on the aromatic conversion over metal-zeolite bifunctional catalysts have been reviewed. The synergistic behavior between metal and acid sites was discussed. Meanwhile,the dependences of catalytic performance on metal nature,properties of zeolites and pretreatment procedure were reviewed. By reviewing the reaction characteristics of the aromatic conversion over bifunctional catalyst,we pointed out that the introduction of metallic component into zeolites is an effective way to regulate the product distribution,improve the activity and stability of catalyst. Moreover,balancing between the metallic sites and acidic sites is the key to further optimize the catalytic performance,so as to inhibit the over-hydrogenation of aromatics and satisfy the requirements of activity,stability and product quality.

Abstract:The development of solid acidic catalyst is of great significance to the safe, controllable, efficient and environment-friendly nitration of aromatics. Herein, a series of trimetallic supported catalysts were obtained by the equivalent-volumetic impregnation method. In the as-prepared Ce 4 Cu 6 Co 0.5 O x /MCM-41 catalyst with strong acidic sites, the metal oxide particles mainly distributed in a form of nanowires in MCM-41 molecular sieve channels. And, the Ce 4 Cu 6 Co 0.5 O x /MCM-41 catalyst exhibited an excellent catalytic performance for the nitration of acetanilide with equivalent dilute nitric acid as a nitration reagent. Surprisingly, 91% conversion of acetanilide with 91.6% selectivity to mono-nitroacetanilide was achieved. The nitration of acetanilide obviously exhibited a typical ortho-para nitration effect of the aromatics. Furthermore, an excellent stability and acceptable reusability proved a potential to replace the nitration system of concentrated acid in chemical industry. The Lewis acid sites of Ce 4 Cu 6 Co 0.5 O x /MCM-41 solid acid catalyst can act a similar role to a strong protic acid in mixed acid system, which can polarize nitric acid molecules to form active NO 2 + reagents. Meanwhile, the abundant strong acidic sites of solid acidic Ce 4 Cu 6 Co 0.5 O x in MCM-41 channels are significantly conducive to the sorption and activation of the reactants. The present work provides a prospective strategy for constructing a solidic acid catalyst with an eco-friendly nitration of aromatics.

Investigation on Catalytic Decomposition of N-Nitrosamines over Zeolites

Abstract:Decomposition of N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) and N-nitrosopyrrolidine (NPYR) on zeolite Y and ZSM-5 was investigated by means of temperature programmed surface reaction(TPSR) combined with GC-MSD and IR techniques. Degradation of N-nitrosamine strongly depended on the activity of zeolite and was accelerated by acid sites. Products of N-nitrosamines degradation were changed by zeolite catalysis, cyano derivative appeared as the main product on NaZSM-5 and NaY zeolites similar to that in pyrolysis while dimethylamine became the dominant one on HZSM-5 and HY. Different reactions are thus proposed: on the latter the Bronsted acid sites probably play the role of main catalytic sites, hence N-nitrosamines degrades to amines while on the former N-nitrosamines may decompose through radical reaction process, similar to the process of pyrolysis. Protonation of zeolite NaY or NaZSM-5 is proved not to be necessary for decomposition of N-nitrosamines. Zeolites are proved to be the novel materials for removing N-nitrosamines pollutants from environment.

Abstract:The main factors restricking the application of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology in China to control NOx emission are the problems of catalyst cost for SCR denitrification and the potential secondary pollution of heavy metalls.For this reason,the research achivements for catalysts of SCR denitrifucation by NH3 and hydrocarbon have been expounded respectively,such as metal oxides,metal ion exchanged zeolites,titanium pillared clay,Al2O3 supported heavy metalls,and rare earth oxides catalysts,and including principles of selecting a suitable catalyst,reation mechanism,catalytic activity,temperature range of activity,and effects of H2O and SO2 in the flue gas etc.,and direction for further improving catalytic activities being proposed.

Abstract:Emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are abundant and ubiquitous, causing severe damage to the ecological environment and human health. Their control and treatment are urgently needed. Catalytic oxidation is a promising remediation technology, particularly suitable for the end − of − pipe treatment of VOCs. Developing highly efficient catalysts is crucial to the wide adaptation of this technology. Zeolite − supported metallic catalysts are among the best choices due to their excellent porosity and structure, adjustable acidity and high stability, which are essential to the catalyst performance. In this review, we present the state-of-the-art in zeolite-based catalyst development, with a focus on three typical ones - ZSM − 5 (MFI), beta (BEA) and X−/Y − zeolite (FAU), for VOC oxidation. Specifically, we examine their chemical characteristics, active center dispersion and stability, the structure, surface acidity and hydrophobicity of the support, and elucidate the synergy between the active centers and the support. Moreover, we document the detailed preparation procedures to modulate these aspects of catalysts, providing a comprehensive guide to designing zeolite − based catalysts for VOC emission control.

Abstract:With the acceleration of industrialization and the increasing prominence of environmental pollution problems, the emission of nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the atmosphere has become a global concern. These emissions are not only hazardous to human health, but also one of the main factors leading to acid rain, photochemical smog and global climate change. Therefore, the development and implementation of efficient denitrification technologies are an important issue for environmental protection. The present review focuses on the research progress of the denitrification technology in the recent years, including the traditional denitrification methods and common technologies. At the same time, the advantages, limitations and application prospects of each method are analyzed. The mechanisms, influencing factors, advantages and disadvantages of the denitrification catalysts are also discussed. In addition, the future research trends and potential challenges of denitrification technology are discussed. It is expected that this review will provide useful references for promoting the development and application of denitrification technology, which may help researchers to choose high‐performance and cost‐effective methods.
