Abstract:During the process of informatization of project construction,the development and application of Building Information Modeling(BIM) is the development tendency,but some obstacles of BIM application still exist in China.So,the paper analyzes the basic functions and characters of BIM skills,and compares the BIM development situations and gaps between China and foreign counties.Then analyzes the main obstacles of BIM application in project design,and gives the reasons and suggestions from multiple perspectives.Finally,through a case study of a BIM application in an institute of design,summarizes the usual problems in BIM application,and proposes corresponding suggestions.
