Abstract:MicroRNAs(miRNAs) are endogenous,single-stranded,short RNA sequences(21-25 nucleotides) that regulate target gene expression by base pairing with specific binding sites located in the 3′un-translated region(UTR) of target mRNAs.Recent evidences show that they play an important role in the onset and development of cardiovascular diseases,such as coronary atherosclerotic disease,hypertension,myocardial hypertrophy,arrhythmia,myocardial infarction and myocardial fibrosis.Here is to make a review on recent relevant findings on the role of miRNAs in the cardiovascular diseases,and explore the molecular mechanisms.
