Review on insect gene promoter and cytochrome P450 gene promoters

Abstract:Cytochrome P450 is a kind of important detoxifying enzymes.Insects perform detoxification by regulating the cytochrome P450 expression when they are under stresses of various endogenous or exogenous toxicant so as to adapt to the hostile environment.In insects,the regulation of P450s gene expression was mainly occurred in transcription level.The promoter,as a part of the gene,can form transcription initiation complex with RNA polymerase consequently to control the start time and degree of gene expression.Here,the methods of insect promoters analysis and functional verification as well as their structure features were reviewed,in order to draw on the experience of insect cytochrome P450 gene promoters further research in this paper.
