Abstract:This paper develops a continuous-time stochastic model and discusses the pubic expenditure of the government effect to the growth of economy.Representative agent maximize his expect discount utility under certain constraint condition.We analyze the effect of variable to growth of economy. Some useful results are obtained in this paper.

Abstract:The paper develops an endogenous growth model which involves multi-types of public expenditure,such as pure productive,pure consumptive and productive-consumptive mixed expenditures with various production elasticity or consumption elasticity respectively.In such a framework,we discuss the mechanism of multi-types of public expenditures enhancing growth and welfare,and also the existence and uniqueness of social optimal path,and give a series of optimality conditions for various types of public expenditure.The welfare properties of decentralized equilibrium are analyzed in various financing patterns.The analytic optimal solutions of three typical types of public expenditure and relevant comparative static analysis are also studied through a special example.And finally the specifications of some public services with congestion and excludability are discussed.

Abstract:Based on the endogenous growth model, a continuous-time stochastic endogenous growth model with congestible government production and welfare expenditure is proposed. The impact of model parameters on the equilibrium economic growth and welfare is discussed and some optimal policy parameters are obtained. Furthermore, production effect of congestible government expenditure is investigated from two cases whether congestion has production utility or not. Finally, macroeconomic effects of government expenditure and its volatility on economic growth are analysed and demonstrated.

Abstract:This paper extends the Barro (1990) model with single aggregate government spending and one flat income tax to include public expenditures and taxes by multiple levels of government. It derives the rate of endogenous growth and, with both simulations and special examples, examines how that rate changes with respect to federal income tax, local taxes, and federal transfers. It also discusses the growth and welfare-maximizing choices of taxes and federal transfers.

Abstract:In this paper, we study risk-taking, fiscal policies, and asset pricing in a stochastic model of growth with non-expected utility function and the spirit of capitalism. With specific assumptions on the production technology, preferences, and stochastic shocks, we derive the explicit solutions to the growth rates of consumption and savings and equilibrium returns on all assets. Finally, we give the effects of fiscal policies, the spirit of capitalism, and stochastic shocks on growth, asset pricing, and welfare.

Abstract:This paper sets up a theoretical model linking the growth rate of the economy to the growth rate and volatility of different government expenditures. On a theoretical basis, it is found that volatility in government spending can be positively or negatively associated with economic growth depending on the intertemporal elasticity in consumption. On an empirical basis, it is rather surprising to find no association between growth in capital expenditure and output growth, whereas growth in current expenditure seems to stimulate output growth. In particular, growth in transportation and communication seems to have a negative effect on output growth. It is also very interesting to find that the rises in the volatility in the growth of general public services, transportation, and communication have a positive effect on output growth.

Abstract:This paper discusses the growth effect of fiscal policy in an AK model with endogenous labor supply.It is found that fiscal policy could affect the long-run growth rate through their effects on household's labor-leisure choice,consumption-saving choice,and the proportion of public productive expenditure in total output.Using numerical simulation,it is found that Barro's(1990) inverted-U relationship between the growth rate and the income tax rate will not hold.Using cross-province data from 1997 to 2007 in China,the growth effect of various public productive expenditures have been investigated.It is found that the growth effect of public productive expenditure may be quite different among regions and the public productive expenditure may do not have positive growth effect.

Abstract:This paper analyzes the relationship between government expenditure and economic growth by setting up a two-sector endogenous growth model containing government expenditure,and dividing government expenditure into government physical capital expenditure and human capital expenditure.The analysis suggests that given the tax rate,individual rate of time preference and interval elasticity of substitution on consumption,the perfect scale of government physical capital expenditure and human capital expenditure is unique.According to the comparative static analysis,there exists correspondence between economic tax rate and rate of balanced growth.

Abstract:Based on the continuous-time model, this article introduces the public expenditure into the production function , productive and unproductive public expenditure into utility function , through the Hamilton function method to obtain an ex-plicit relationship among the parameters with consumption growth rate .On the basis of the method , we do the numerical simulation and construct the relationship among the taxation , public expenditure and Chinese residents consumption , which is embedded into endogenous growth model .Based on the Chinese macro data from 1991 to 2012 , the empirical study sug-gests that tax presents an inverted U type in the long term , the expenditures of economic construction and social education have positive effects on Chinese residents consumption , while the expenditure of defense has negative impact on it .

Abstract:In a continuous time stochastic economy, this paper considers the problem of consumption and investment in a financial market in which the representative investor exhibits a change in the discount rate. The investment opportunities are a stock and a riskless account. The market coefficients and discount factor switches according to a finite state Markov chain. The change in the discount rate leads to time inconsistencies of the investor's decisions. The randomness in our model is driven by a Brownian motion and Markov chain. Following Ekeland etc (2008) we introduce and characterize the equilibrium policies for power utility functions. Moreover, they are computed in closed form for logarithmic utility function. We show that a higher discount rate leads to a higher equilibrium consumption rate. Numerical experiments show the effect of both time preference and risk aversion on the equilibrium policies.

Abstract:The paper considers an investment and consumption growth model which generalizes a number of models that have been studied in literature.The model involves consumption and investment decisions as well as their growth rate for a single agent who consumes and invests in a riskless asset and a risky one.The objective is to maximize the total expected discounted utility of consumption.Using stochastic optimal control and dynamic system,the paper presents consumption-investment optimal decisions and their growth rate satisfy with two-dimension dynamic system.Finally,the paper discussed the stability of equilibrium point and the effect of the key parameters on the equilibrium value.

Abstract:In the paper,we study the dynamic consistency of optimal public expenditure. If the public expenditure enters the productive and consumptive functions in flow,it can be proved that the optimization conditions of public expenditure are the same in short-run and long-run under the premise of optimal capital accumulation,which implies that the dynamic consistency of optimal public expenditure (flow) holds between the short-run and long-run.While the public expenditure affects the economy in stock,however,the consistency no longer holds. Thus,we put forward the condition of holding dynamic consistency of public expenditure, which is separating of enterprise from government in short.

Abstract:This paper examines the impacts of liquidity constraints on economic growth and social welfare by incorporating the role of government expenditure into the overlapping-generations model developed by Jappelli and Pagano in 1990s. In our model, the government can provide funds to the young faced with liquidity constraints. Our theoretical findings are as follows: (1) with exogenous technical progress, liquidity constraints on households raise the saving rate; (2) with endogenous technical progress, liquidity constraints and economic growth rate show an inverted U-shaped relationship; (3) with both exogenous and endogenous technical progress, the steady state per capita income first increases and then declines with the increase of liquidity constraints. Our empirical analysis with cross-country data supported this conclusion; (4) given certain values of the model parameters, social welfare in steady state may decrease with the reduction of liquidity constraints.

Abstract:This paper assesses the effect of fiscal policy on economic growth in an AK model with endogenous labor supply. It is found that the structure of taxation and government expenditure could affect the long-run growth rate through their effect on households’ labor-leisure choice, saving-consuming choice and the proportion of government expenditure to GDP. Barro’s (1990) plausible result that the growth rate and the income tax rate have an inverted-U relationship does not always hold. In addition, based on the panel data of 31 provinces from 1997 to 2007, we investigate the link between components of government productive expenditure and economic growth. It is found that the productive expenditure does not always have a positive effect on the growth rate, and its effect exhibits regional differences. The reason is that there is an excess amount of the government productive expenditure in China or the efficiency of the government productive expenditure may be too low.

Abstract:Firstly,this article embeds economic construction expenditure,social expenditure and regular expenditure into endogenous growth model based on the continuous-time model,researches the dynamic relationship between government expenditure structure and private consumption.Then,in order to verify the theoretical results in the actual economy adaptability,this article uses the China's provincial panel data from 2001 to 2013 to investigate the influence of the government public expenditure structure on private consumption, the empirical studies show that economic construction expenditure, social expenditure are crowding-in-effects on consumption, regular expenditure is crowding-out-effect on consumption.In addition,this paper introduces fiscal decentralization variable on the basis of it to research government public expenditure influences private consumption through the decentralization channel,it is found that the role of social expenditure is enhanced,and the role of constructive expenditure and general expenditure are weakened through decentralization channel.

Abstract:This paper studies capital accumulation and consumption in the traditional Ramsey model under an exogenous growth framework. The model has three important features: (1) treating health as a simple function of consumption, which enable the study of health and growth in an aggregate macroeconomic model; (2) the existence of multiple equilibria of capital stock, health, and consumption, which is more consistent with the real world situation-rich countries may end up with high capital, better health, and higher consumption than poor countries; (3) the fundamental proposition of a consumption tax instead of capital taxation from the traditional growth model does not hold anymore in our model. As long as consumption goods contribute to health formation, the issue of a consumption tax versus an income (or capital) tax should be re-examined.

Abstract:This paper focuses on the determination of the consumption function and the savings rate in a long run in an economy with persistent economic growth.By using discrete Ramsey model,the paper firstly studies the total consumption ratio and the total savings ratio in the long run during the economic growth.Then,based on this result,the authors estimate savings rate in China and in the U.S.A.,and the result is very close to the real economy.Finally,the paper discusses the reasons behind such a high savings rate in China and forecasts the changes of the savings rate in the future.The conclusion is that the cause of high savings rate in China is high economic growth rate,high elasticity of capital to output,high preference discount and short-forecast ex- pectation.

Abstract:In a two-sector endogenous growth model,this paper studies the long-run and short-run effects of fiscal policy on private consumpition,capital accumulation,and economic growth.It is found that:The increase in the capital income tax not only increases private consumption,but also increases the human capital accumulation,and in turn increases economic growth.However,government policy has no long-run effect on the economic growth,and the increasing of capital income tax rate will decrease the long-run consumption and physical capital accumulation.The welfare effects of fiscal policy is investigated too.

Abstract:By constructing dynamic model about economic growth,environmental regulation and pollution emissions,this pa per studies the economic growth and pollution emissions in the constrain of environmental regulatory control.The result shows that the more stringent government environmental regulation,the higher speed of economic growth and less pollution emissions in the steady condition.It also finds that the smaller of the time discount rate for consumer,the smaller output elasticity of the capital,the speeder of human capital growth result in the higher speed of economic growth and less pollution emissions in the steady condition.The lighter impact of material consumption for consumer utility,the heavier impact of pollution emissions for consumer utility result in the higher speed of economic growth and the more pollution emissions.This paper’s innovation is that environmental quality can be improved by reducing economic growth rate under certain conditions.
