Mental Health and Intervention Study on the Maintain Security Servicemen in Peking Olympic Games

Abstract:Objective To explore the correlation between maintain security servicemen's mental health and coping style,and observe the effect of intervention to those suffered troubles.Methods 643 maintain security soldiers and 592 army men from random sampling without partaking in maintain security,were investigated by Mental Disorder Prediction Scale for Servicemen and Military Personnel Scene trait Coping Style Scale.The mental intervention or medication was performed to those with mental disorders.Results Compared with control group,there were apparently higher scores of prediction,each factor of mental disorders and coping style in investigation group(P0.05).Active coping style showed a negative correlation with mental disorder(P0.01).The psychological dysdefense,stressor,personality introvert,history of past illness and family,growth experience,and shot of social support were the main factors which had affected on mental health of officers and soldiers who attended the maintain security in Peking Olympic Games.Pharmaceutical and mental intervention had a good effect on them.Conclusion There was an obvious influence on mental health of servicemen who attended maintain security in the Olympic Games.The correct intervention methods could reduce mental problem.
