The Economies of Scope in the Course of the Economic Integration along the Yangtze River Delta

Abstract:The tendency of integration has already emerged and has been emerging along the Yangtze River Delta. This is promoted by the system integration caused by the market and internationalization and relies on the effective role of the industrial organization and the common market belonging to different administrative divisions under the condition of the same industry foundation within the region. The Yangtze River Delta is not only aimed at the integration, and its more important goal is to strengthen the overall competitiveness in the course of integration, which consequently raises the issue of economies of scope. The competitiveness engendered by the economies of scope is the one produced by cooperation and sharing. According to the belief that the world is flat, the transference of the manufacturing production base along the Yangtze River Delta to the district is an important step to acquire the economies of scope.
