Abstract:Sun Yat-sen is well known as the founder of the Hsing-chung hui (Revive China Society), but few realize the significant role played by Yang Ch'ü-yün who, for almost five years, was the first chairman of that revolutionary organization. According to one source, it was Yang who insisted on the establishment of a republican government in what is now known as the “first revolutionary attempt of Sun Yat-sen.” This article is a study of the interplay of their leadership and the Chinese revolutionary movement from 1895 to 1900.

Abstract:Sun Yat-sen was a great revolutionary.Li Gongzhong's "Sun Yat-sen: the Fluctuation of the Heroic Image in the Past Century" summarizes the formation process of Sun's heroic image of leadership,and explains its different connotations in the different historical periods,as well as its special significance to the modern society.What effect did the Revolution have in the end on the development of Chinese national capitalism? Shen Shipei's "The 1911 Revolution and the Development of National Capitalism",based on related data,holds that "the Revolution had long-term effect on the development of national capitalism in the Republican Period",which lasted into the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War.The secret parties were an important social power in the late Qing Dynasty.Liang Jiagui's "Secret Parties and the 1911 Revolution" expounds why the secret parties followed the leadership of the bourgeois revolutionists and its significance,and probes into the reasons that resulted in their separation.The Revolution prompted a change of Chinese thoughts on charity.Cai Qingyu's "The Change of Charitable Thoughts in the Late Qing Dynasty and the Early Republic of China",combing through the development and the change of Chinese charity thoughts in modern times,holds that this change was the transition of Chinese charity from traditional philanthropy to institutional and legal social security,and an indispensable loop in the history of Chinese charity.

Abstract:Between 1900 and 1908 the Chinese revolutionary leader, Sun Yat-sen, tried to obtain assistance from the French government for his movement to overturn the Manchu dynasty, and at one point he contacted a French army officer who gave the impression that such aid might be forthcoming. This connection between Sun Yat-sen and France, revealed in Sun's memoirs, has intrigued and puzzled historians who have been uncertain as to the policy behind this curious contact. However, French archival records reveal that the promise of assistance to Sun was ephemeral as the French government decided that its political and economic interests in Asia dictated against any support for an Asian revolutionary leader. Under pressure from the Imperial Chinese government French officials banished Sun Yat-sen from Indochina in 1908, thereby demonstrating a basic hostility toward revolutionary movements in Asia.

Abstract:During the Revolution of 1911,Sun Baoqi,the last governor of Shandong,not only showed loyalty to the Qing government,but also remained sympathetic to the revolutionaries.He hoped that the Qing government would become reconciled with the Revolutionary Party.But he failed to keep a normal heart when faced with pressure from both the people calling for independence of Shandong and the Qing government.Sun Baoqi was forced to declare independence of Shandong.Once Yuan Shikai instigated the Fifth Zhen to oppose independence of Shandong,Sun Baoqi became subservient to the will of Yuan Shikai and declared to give up independence of Shandong.This turn brought about division of the political personality of Sun Baoqi,but protected Shandong from a war.Therefore,Sun Baoqi’s decision is understandable.

Abstract:It is an importance part in Chen Duxiu 's thought that he had discoursed upon Sun Yatsen and the Three People's Principles.Chen set a high value on Sun Yatsen and the Three People's Principles during the Communist Party of China built and the Great Revolution in China(1924-1927)taken;In order to negate the rationalization that the political power of Kuomintang existed,Chen took total repudiation to the Three People's Principles that was regarded the leading thought by Kuomintang after the Great Revolution in China failed;after the war of Resistance Against Japan broke out,Chen spoke highly of Sun Yatsen and the Three People's Principles.

Abstract:President Yuan Shi-kai overthrowed the legitimacy of the Republic of China by his illegal dissolution of the Parliament in 1913. At that time, Progress Party was the only important party after the ban of Kuomintang ,but the party broke up to the parliament group and the cabinet group , and the latter stood with President Yuan in his attack of the parliament. The cabinet group wanted enlightened autarchy but the parliament group sticked to parliament democracy, so Progress Party went to its end step by step for the two group's conflict. The collapse of Progress Party indicated the end of sharing power and the beginning of Yuan Shi-kai's despotism.

Abstract:During the War of land revolution, the Red Army united and reformed the Shen Army according to united front theory and ethnic policy of our party. This got good effect and won over thousands of soldiers of the Shen Army, making the Shen Army becoming the main source of the Red Army. Abstract:Sun Yisen's theory on party-state relation consists of three historically and logically related parts,namely,"the party aims at saving the state","the party founds the state",and "the party rules the state"."The Party aims at saving the state" indicates that the rise of modern parties in China have been primarily the consequence of national crises."The Party founds the state" expresses Sun Yisen's ideas of learning from foreign countries in constructing our own party,founding our motherland in line with the principles of the party,and setting up the party before founding the state,with the party and the state developing side by side.As for "the party rules the state",there have been changes in theory and in operation.But one thing remains unchanged,it is the principle that at the time of revolution,the revolutionary party holds the power,and the party members are the ones who monopoly the political power or are given priority in holding the political power.

Abstract:There is no doubt that Dr. Sun Yat-sen spent all his life on revolution. Besides those radical activities negotiation and compromise can never be unseen throughout his revolutionary life. Researchers in this field, however, tend to emphasize his violent actions, and ignore, even disparage, those negotiable activities. The phenomenon is an immediate result of the Chinese misunderstanding of revolution and of Chinas long revolutionary experience in the 20th century. In fact, as is decided by his unique education background and his personal insight into modern political culture , the duality of violent revolution and peaceful negotiation characterizes Sun Yat-sen's political thoughts.

Abstract:If we place the revolution of 1911 in the overall context of history of late Qing and Republic of China,not just concerning about the revolution itself,we can find out ruling and opposition parties were committed to the comprehensive transformation of knowledge and institutions during that period,which rapidly resulted in revolutionary changes in the important aspects of Chinese society.These changes were affected by the interrelationship of different academic trends and political systems,as well as the complicated links of different forces brought by all kinds of new activities.Not simply taking the change as evolution and the present as modern time,we,back to the historical site,will get to understand the true meaning of varied thoughts,theories and systems throughout the history of China and other countries and the development in accordance with the spatial-temporal evolution.Only in this way can we make rigorous deductions,systematical and not far-fetched,fully demonstrating the overall significance of the period of the 1911 Revolution to the development of Chinese history.

Abstract:: The Xinhai Revolution of 1911 marked a pivotal moment in Chinese history, leading to the fall of the Qing Dynasty and the end of over 2,000 years of imperial rule. This paper analyzes the political, cultural, and ideological changes of the Xinhai Revolution, including the birth of the Republic of China, the rise of Han nationalism, and the development of new political institutions. The revolution also fostered a consensus on the desirability of democracy and the elimination of long-standing traditions and beliefs, setting the stage for enduring transformations in Chinese society. Despite the initial setbacks and the subsequent challenges faced by revolutionary, the Xinhai Revolution's legacy is evident in the ongoing narrative of progress and development in modern China. Abstract:It was the first time that Chinese students abroad openly convened to welcome the leaders of Revolutionary Party of China, when those Chinese students studied in Japan gathered together at Fujian Building in Tokyo in Autumn 1905, between the preparatory meeting of Tong Meng Hui and its formal inaugural convention. At the gathering, Sun Yat-sen appeared openly first in Tokyo, the base camp of the Revolutionary Party. It was a key step that Sun Yat-sen established his status of revolutionary leadership. And that was also his first open preach of revolutionary proposition given in Chinese students studying in Japan, which completely changed his character of'greenwood hero'.

Abstract:After Sun Yat-sen died, Kuomintang launched a nationwide worship for Sun. They wanted to spread the symbol of Sun and instill it into the everyday life of people. One important measure was to set up the memorial-week and memorial days of Sun Yat-sen. This paper will study how Kuomintang controlled the society and spread its ideology through the institution of Sun's memorial-week. It will also unveil the operation of modern political power behind the memorial-week campaign. In the meantime, it will inspect the responses from different walks of life and the special function of memorial-week during the period of the Anti-Japanese War. Due to its isolation from the masses and its serious corruption, Kuomintang actually failed to mobilize people by its ideology. However, Sun's symbol was spread broadly, constituting the collective memory of Sun in that period and affecting any new reception of Sun after 1949.
