Abstract:More and more new concepts and methods are surfacing thanks to integrated complementary medicine research. As many laws and new discoveries have been covered in the sea of existing literature, understanding research progress and following its direction has become difficult for researchers. This study investigates the global development of integrated complementary medicine research over the past ten years through bibliometric analysis to provide reference to researchers for future work. Searched and selected were articles in 22 integrated complementary medicine journals published globally in the Web of Science database. Analysis of the articles was based on changes of publication years, geographical distribution, research institutes, research fields and so on with multiple bibliometric analysis methods. Generally, the total amount of integrated complementary medicine research articles has increased. However, there was a slight decrease in the last two years. Research in China, US and South Korea has taken the dominant position. Integrated complementary medicine is the inevitable trend of the development of Chinese medicine and even world medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine should take in achievements of modern technology to make breakthroughs. Although research in the last two years declined compared with the peak time of 2013, integrated complementary medicine research will still flourish. There will be more and more research institutes and researchers involved in the near future.

Abstract:Journal of Information Science, Ahead of Print. Bibliometrics research has been developed for many years and achieved a great many scientific achievements. The aim of this study is to understand the current research status and development directions of research on bibliometrics. This study implements bibliometric methods based on the Web of Science to analyse the publications, subjects, citation, co-citation, collaboration and keywords of bibliometrics from 1969 to 2022. Bibliometrics is now in the development phase from its cumulative publication curve and citation analysis. Information Science & Library Science and Computer Science are the two major subjects on bibliometric research. Garfield E has the most citations and co-citation frequency in the field of bibliometrics. The number of countries cooperating with the United States is the largest and China is the most productive country; Beijing, London and Madrid are the three sub-network centres of the city cooperation network; Zhang L owns the largest number of author collaborations. Research content on bibliometrics focuses mainly on bibliometrics theory, methods, research evaluation, techniques, tools and applications. The results in this study are beneficial to researchers and readers who are interested in the field of bibliometrics and other related fields to understand the overall picture of bibliometrics, which is conducive to the future development of bibliometrics.

Abstract:At present, the concepts, technologies and methods of big data are constantly spreading to all areas of the society. The arrival of big data has brought about tremendous changes in many areas of the people’s social life, and at the same time, it has caused profound changes in the development of society. This paper uses the bibliometric analysis and the visual analysis methods to systematically study and analyze the big data publications included in the Science Citation Index (SCI) and Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) databases. On the one hand, it analyzes the most influential countries, journals, research institutions. On the other hand, the co-occurrence of author keywords of the publications are investigated, and the current research hotspots and future development trends are explored. The research in this paper is helpful for relevant scholars to understand the development status and trends in this field.

Abstract:This article investigates the world’s publications in the category of linguistics based on Thomson Reuters’ Social Science Citation Index (SCCI) from 2005-2014. Research achievements were recorded and analyzed, including publication year, characteristics of journals, productivity of authors, institutions, and countries, publication years, citation life of highly cited articles. Results found that while the number of publications dramatically increased, the average number of authors, cited references, and count page in proportion to the number of publications per year remained quietly stable. The USA was the most productive country in all the bibliometric indicators; total of publications single country articles, national and internationally collaborative article; of which University of Illinois in USA ranked the first institution all these indicators. M. On slow from the University of Melbourne was the most productive author. Journal of Memory and Language was the most productive venue of publication; among which, Baayen’s et al. (2008) article was seen as the most top article. Implications of the study findings to researchers and research policy makers are highlighted at the end of the article.

Abstract:This article highlights the research productivity and scholarly communication of library and information science professionals during 2003–2012 by using Web of Science databases from 40 library and information science core journals. Data was interpreted by using two open-source software Vantage point (powerful text-mining tool for discovering meaningful result from raw data) and CiteSpace II to visualize the library and information science growth and trends. Underlying results indicated that mainstream of authors (12,847, 69.9%) published their article as a single author from 2003–2009, this trend has declined and collaborative number of publications trend has inclined during the last 3 years. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign produced 95 (0.52%) of the total publications and stands at the leading position. The maximum number of publications was carried out by universities rather than non-academic institutions. This article identified that Asian countries, such as China, Taiwan, India, and Iran, are still in its infancy stage. The present study could be considered as a useful tool for effective allocation of research funds in the research community and academic world of library and information science to enhance the research process.

Abstract:A bibliometric analysis was applied in this work to evaluate global scientific production of data mining papers of the Science Citation Index (SCI), which was compiled by Institute for Scientific Information (ISI), Philadelphia, USA. The published output analysis showed that data mining research steadily increased over the past 20 years and the annual paper production in 2007 was about three times that in 1999. The analytical results eventually lead to several key findings. Several author keywords became the focus in the last few years, and might be a new research direction in the future. There are clear distinctions among author keywords used in publications from the five most productive countries (USA, China, Germany, England and Canada) in data mining research. Bibliometric methods could quantitatively characterize the development of global scientific production in a specific research field.

Abstract:This study was carried out to evaluate the global scientific production of genome sequencing research to assess the characteristics of the research performances and the research tendencies. Data were obtained from Science Citation Index Expanded database during 1991-2010. Conventional methods including document types, journals, categories, countries and institutions were used to analyze publication output to reveal the global performance. The development of genome sequencing research during last 20 years was described by synthetically analyzing the distribution of words in article title, author keywords, and KeyWords Plus in different periods. The results show that disease and protein related researches were the leading research focuses, and comparative genomics and evolution related research had strong potential in the near future. Abstract:Based on Web of Science and Chinese Citation Database, papers published in Journal of Building Structures from 2000 to 2009 are quantitatively analyzed by scientific bibliometric method on paper distributions, including the total number, the number and the type of the papers supported by foundation, institutions, regions, contents and references, and their impacts at home and abroad as well. The article provides a full-scale objective relation of the development status and academic level of Journal of Building Structures, which is valuable for the future improvement of the journal. Besides, the article also conducts an exploring research on journal evaluation, especially on the citation based journal international impact analysis.

Abstract:This paper makes a bibliometric analysis of the research papers on branch libraries of universities in China in the past twenty years.Through the analysis of the publishing time,the main contents of the essays,the author of this article draws the outline of the present situation of the researches on the branch libraries,points out that Chinese scholars have laid emphasis merely on theories and qualitative researches,that the library should strengthen the investigation of the statistical analysis and empirical researches,and establish an effective mechanisms for evaluation and assessment,and that all the researches should be comprehensive and penetrative to explore the effective rules and regulations of the operation.

Abstract:Abstract The present study employs a bibliometric analysis to examine the research trends in the field of evaluation, appraisal and stance. The bibliometric information of publications between 2000 and 2015 was retrieved from the Web of Science SSCI Core Collection database. The indicators analyzed include the number of publications by year, most frequently explored topics, most cited works, major individual contributors, publication venues, distribution among countries/regions and institutions. Our findings showed that the annual publications increased dramatically, revealing an upward trend in this research field. The results concerning the most frequently addressed topics suggested that EAP has been a fruitful domain in terms of the evaluative dimension of discourse. Besides, future research will feature more discipline-specific and language-specific empirical studies and comparative cross-linguistic studies. Pedagogical applications of evaluation research also need to be explored. Citation results indicated that the groundbreaking monographs in this field generate the highest citation counts, and that the most cited works cover a variety of sub-fields of linguistics, which may further prove the heterogeneous nature of the evaluative dimension of language.

Abstract:For analyzing the international research situation of knowledge ecology,it uses the method of bibliometrics,and adopts highly evaluation of "social sciences citation index"(SSCI) to analyze the journals of knowledge ecology field.It makes the conclusion that knowledge ecology is a relatively new research field in which area the quality of the papers published is high and is interdisciplinary and contention hotspots;yet maturity of this discipline is still insufficient and there is a certain gap in China and developed countries;the research of knowledge ecology has a very broad prospects in the future.

Abstract:This paper aim to analyze the papers published in International Symposium on Safety Science and Technology (ISSST) in the period 1998-2012. Totally, 2781 ISSST papers were got from Web of Science, Bibliometrics indicators including annual publications, categories, geospatial distributions and topic analysis were used in this study. Results revealed that annual publications of ISSST could be divided in two stages, 1998-2004 as a period of increase in the number of publications and 2004-2012 as the period of decrease in the number of publications. The main categories of ISSST papers are in Engineering fields, that including Multidisciplinary Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Civil Engineering. Papers published in ISSST were originate from more than 30 countries/territories, while papers are mainly from China. In addition, these results also reflect in the institutional level. The analysis of the terms has revealed that all the topics of ISSST could be clustered into three groups, “safety and accident management”, “fire safety” and “coal mine safety”. The time slice of the topic analysis also shown the similar results to the integer terms analysis.

Abstract:Based on the bibliometrics methods,this paper analyzed 2482 papers included in WoS database in the field of LIS(Library and Information Science) in China,from many aspects as amount,authors,areas,organizations,source journals and subjects.The results show that the amount of the papers is on the upward trend and now it is in a stage of rapid development.Relevant foreign researchers such as Ronald Rousseau have established friendly cooperative relationship with Chinese scholars,but the quantity and the scope of cooperation of LIS sector in China has yet to be further enhanced,either in foreign or domestic areas.Knowledge management,information retrieval,scientometrics,digital libraries,university libraries,e-commerce and e-government have become the focus theme of LIS in China.
Bibliometric research on public goods in the period of 1992 to 2006

Abstract:The concept of "Public Goods" was firstly presented 250 years ago. However, few people use the bibliometric analysis technique to study public goods. In this paper, the authors make a bibliometric analysis of all public goods-related publications in the period of 1992 to 2006. The selected documents to be studies are with "public goods, public good" in the title, abstract, or keywords. Analyzed parameters includes authorship, patterns of international collaboration, journal, languages, document type, research address, number of times cited, and reprint authors' address. Researches on Journal Citation Reports (JCR) and Citations per Publications (CPP) show that 45% of the papers on public goods are composed by a single author. The USA, the UK, the Germany and Canada contributed to 59% of the total papers, while USA contributed 44% of the total independent publications. In addition, English remains the dominant language. 98% papers are in English, while only 1.5% of the papers were written in German and French, and the remaining 0.5% was written in other 7 languages. Moreover, 9.8% of the papers were cited more than 10 times in five years after the publication and 40% of the papers were not cited. In addition, a model was applied to describe the relationship between the numbers of citations and the lifecycle of the papers.

Abstract:Based on the papers published with a Chinese address and collected by the Web of Science(including SCI,SSCl,and A&HCI) during the period of 1994-2006,the scientometrics and data mining approach are adoped to analyze disciplinary patterns of Chinese publications,including quantity and growth rate for the different disciplines.In addition,the BCG matrix analysis is used to divide the 242 disciplines into four different categories,that is,stars,cash cows,question marks,and skinny dogs.Policy recommendations are made based on the analysis.
