Abstract:Foundation Fieldbus(FF)is a kind of applicable design for industrial control.It is also a technology of fieldbus supported by major international suppliers for automatic equipment.The function block is one of the most characteristic technologies in FF.It plays an important role in development and application of intelligent instruments.The instantiation for function blocks is the process of users′ fully reasonable utilization on hardware resource by adopting configuration software.It is fulfilled by writing parameters in action objects of applicable process of function block through 'Write' service of fieldbus message specification(FMS).The instantiation of function blocks has been successfully applied.

Abstract:In view of control,the research background and contents on the networked control systems based of field bus are introduced in this paper.Networked control systems is a discipline as the combination of network and control science which covers a wide subjects.First,the three mathematic models of networked control systems are discussed, which consist of short network-induced delay with the controller time or event driven,and long network-induced delay with the controller event driven.Second,the mean value controllability,mean square controllability, mean value observability and mean square observability of networked control systems are analyzed. Third,several methods of controller design under the conditions of networked systems are intrduced.Finally.a further discussion on performance improvement of networked control systems in the furture is proposed.

Abstract:How to support real-time traffic of important aperiodic messages using Foundation Fieldbus (FF) is investigated in this paper. An integrated worst-case response time (WCRT) analysis of aperiodic message indicates FF can't effectively guarantee real-time traffic of important aperiodic message despite FF providing such mechanisms as PT (Pass Token) priority and PT rotation period, etc. After finding the cause of current mechanism' deficiency, an improved mechanism proposed and validated with simulation in this paper. Further, some conclusions such as ongoing work are provided in this paper.

Abstract:The key to success in using distributed control system (DCS) is the timely execution of computational tasks which usually reside on different nodes and communicate with one another to accomplish a common goal. Therefore, the temporal property of the underlying network is important, and special-purpose realtime industrial network is needed. Foundation fieldbus (FF), which is characterized by explicitly distinguishing periodic and aperiodic message, is one of the network kinds. FF applies centralized media access mechanism (MAC) to support periodic message, and distributed MAC to support aperiodic message. As for aperiodic message, this paper indicates FF's current mechanisms can't effectively obtain its expected object of guaranteeing important aperiodic message although PT priority and PT rotation period are applied. Furthermore, detailed analysis expresses method of counting PT rotation period is the main cause. Then, an improved method is proposed, and accordingly, a method of setting PT rotation period is deduced. A numerical case validates the effects of the improved method.

Abstract:An important process control trend is the implementation of digital communication with field control devices. Traditional distributed control systems are being augmented with smart field instruments. Foundation Fieldbus is a digital control network that interlinks such "smart" field instruments like sensors and actuators in a process control environment. In the Foundation Fieldbus all the control algorithms and data acquisition are executed by structures called function blocks. This paper attempts to improve the performance based on these function blocks. First, an introduction to the function blocks of Foundation Fieldbus and their structure and execution process are presented. Then, an example of a fermentation process is described. The structure of the control system and the implementation of distributed control based on function blocks are discussed. Finally, the problems related to system safety with function blocks and their programming language are dealt with.

Abstract:This paper deeply investigates how to support real-time traffic of urgent aperiodic messages using Foundation Fieldbus (FF). This paper shows that, despite FF providing such mechanisms as PT priority and PT rotation period, etc., FF can't effectively guarantee real-time traffic of urgent aperiodic message that is shown in its worst-case response time. The main contribution of this paper is to find the deficiency of current mechanism and proposes a new one. Further, this paper gives methodologies for setting SCT under the new mechanism. Abstract:As one of European standard(EN5070), PROFIBUS is based on a simplified TTP (time-triggered protocol) and is a well welcome fieldbus to guarantee real-time communication for industrial application. The deficiency of present shedulability on token rotation time, never related to the sequence of token rotation that controls the slots for message response in master stations. Based on the character of industrial application, a holistic shedulability using graph theory is given, and a method is described to improve the temporal function of PROFIBUS.

Abstract:Local area networks (LANs) are becoming popular in industrial computercontrolled systems increasingly. Broadcast LANs aimed at the interconnection of sensors, actuators and controllers are commonly known as fieldbus networks. Recently, the vendor-specific fieldbus has being substituted by vendor-independent standardized fieldbus, which supports the open system concept and has started to be used commonly. Particular relevance must be given to the IEC 61158 (1999), which encompasses eight widely used fieldbuses: FF HI, ControlNet, PROFIBUS, P-NET, FF HSE, SwiftNet, WorldFIP and Interbu (Xiuju 2000; Xiong 2000) known that time constraints are more stringent as we go down in the automation hierarchy. In this charter, we consider time constraints or deadlines as the maximum allowable time span between a message transfer request and its transmission on the bus. In fact, the total message cycle delay results from multiple factors, such as the access and queuing delays, the transmission time (frame length / transmission rate) and the protocol processing time. As we are dealing with realtime communication across a shared transmission medium, we focus our analysis on the access delay and queuing delay factors. These factors depend on the MAC (Medium Access Control) mechanism used by the fieldbus network. Fieldbus, as infrastructure of communication to support real-time traffic among field devices in factory floor, is one of typical real-time network. According to real-time application, protocol of MAC layer of fieldbus can be divided into event-triggered and time-triggered. The former does not support the real-time application directly and usually uses CSMA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access), like CAN and LON. The latter supports the real-time application directly and often uses token. Further, the time-triggered can be sub-divided into three classes: 1) centralized token in WorldFIP and Foundation Fieldbus; 2) distributed token in PROFIBUS and FDDI; 3) virtual token in P-Net. Abstract:This paper derives formula for the response time of periodic messages in Foundation Fieldbus (FF). Authors first consider periodic messages of different criticality levels in timing requirement, such as urgent and normal, and derive formula for response time of these messages. Then through analyzing the formula, authors find the deficiency of PT counting mechanism, and propose a new PT counting mechanism to enhance realtime response of urgent periodic messages. In the end, the advantage of the new counting mechanism is validated by numerical instance.

Abstract:Aiming at the problems of the complex environment of modern construction site,the random distribution of tower cranes and the hard and expensive physical connection between the tower cranes,the technology of industry wireless communication was investigated.On the basis of Token Bus Network,the wireless communication based on token passing was presented.The function of auto login and logout system and fault detection was also added to the wireless communication protocol.Finally,the flow of this wireless communication and the format of frames were given.The results indicate that this wireless communication mode can not only make the system fast and real-time but also have the good expandability.

Abstract:For a field-level industrial network, the real-time characteristic is very important. Fieldbuses are typical industrial control networks and their real-time characteristic mainly depends on the temporal property of the MAC protocol, which also is requirement of a distributed computer control system. Both WorldFIP and FF are the most important fieldbuses by their character of adopting a schedule table (ST) to control the real-time communication of tasks. This paper mainly introduces the characteristic of the ST algorithm, including establishing and optimizing it, and how to use it to support real-time communication in an industrial control network.

Abstract:Abstract In addition to meeting the basic characteristics of traditional transactions, the concurrent control of embedded mobile real-time transactions should also focus on priority inversion, unnecessary transaction restart and global data consistency, performance of hybrid transaction systems, energy saving and emission reduction. When using traditional control algorithms, scheduling control is mainly based on data structure characteristics, and it is easy to cause data stack congestion. In order to solve the above problems, a stack scheduling control method of embedded data structure using multi-parameter neural network is proposed. Combined with the widely used switched Ethernet technology in defences, communications, aerospace, industrial control and other fields, a prototype of a star topology embedded software test system is introduced.

Abstract:The temporal property of MAC protocol of fieldbus is critical to meet real-time constraints of field devices in factory floor. Among various types of MAC protocols, the one using centralized strategy is characterized by providing a feasible schedule to meet different temporal constraints of field devices online, and also providing schedulability analysis offline a priori. WorldFIP and FF, two popular international standards of fieldbus, both adapt a centralized strategy, which is mainly implemented by schedule table (ST). This paper mainly discusses how to construct ST including size of ST schedule algorithm and schedulability analysis, to meet requirement of field devices on response time, jitter, synchronization, and its state-of-the art.

Abstract:This paper presents the design and implementation of network controller which based on the Data Link Layer's specification of a lightweight sensor-oriented fieldbus protocol, that is sensor network protocol. The controller is packed with AVALON standard peripheral interface. It can be treated as a normal intellectual property core in project design, so that the operation on it is simplified as reading or writing on register. The test results show that the controller meets the requirements of the specification in the frame identification, arbitration, checking and so on. A follow-up application developing basement can be found easily on this controller.

Abstract:Based on the research about conventional communication mechanism,for the features of CNC Fieldbus,a new RTPS-based communication mechanism for CNC Fieldbus is presented.The RTPS architecture and the key message-oriented middleware are expatiated firstly,then formal analysis methods and probabilistic timed automata are adopted to analysis and construct system state transfer model of the proposed mechanism.Finally,experiments by using PRISM model checker are carried out to check the stability and realtime performance of this mechanism.The results prove that the new communication mechanism can be suitable for CNC Fieldbus demands.
