Abstract:The developments of image retrieval techniques were analyzed in this paper,and the main issues at different research stages were also discussed in detail.The main image retrieval techniques were introduced including text-based image retrieval,content- based image retrieval and semantic-based image retrieval.Based on the survey,some open difficulties and deficiencies which need to be researched further were presented,and the research trends of image retrieval were given at the same time.

Abstract:With the rapid increasing of image data,an effective and efficient image retrieval system is needed for finding useful images in large databases or on Internet.Because of the complexity of images,the traditional information retrieval techniques,which are based on value and/or text comparison,are not sufficient.Then the research is shifted to the techniques of content-based image retrieval (CBIR).In this paper,some key issues on CBIR are discussed:image features extraction,similarity measures,the expression of query conditions,retrieval techniques in compressed-domain,the performance evaluation,and so on.Some future research directions are also given in the conclusion.

Abstract:Content-based image retrieval are an image information query retrieval which mainly based on color feature,texture feature,shape feature and so on.This paper firstly describes the image retrieval system architecture,focused on feature extraction technology and spider technology,a Web image retrieval system using combined color and texture features is also given and compared with which using single color feature aiming at concrete database,and discussions are done about the experiment results.The results show that the image retrieval system is effective and the sort is more reasonable.

Abstract:Driven by the development of the information retrieval technologies, image retrieval has been studied for more than several decades. This study centers on revealing the current status and future directions based on the review of previous studies on image retrieval. The citation-based analysis was applied to 2243 articles retrieved from Web of Science database. The time series plots of the citation relationships between the retrieved articles reveal a fundamental research article that lay the foundation for the study of image retrieval. Cocitation analysis identifies that the existing studies formed two clusters. Each cluster represents one of the two major areas in the field of image retrieval: the text-based image retrieval and the content-based image retrieval. The visualization map shows that the research of content-based image retrieval has received more attention than the area of text-based image retrieval. Relevance feedback was identified as a promising research direction for the future study.

Abstract:Content-based satellite cloud image retrieval is a very important problem in image processing and analysis field. Traditional image retrieval method has some limitation, for realized image retrieval accurately and quickly, the CBIR method is an adaptive method. For achieved good retrieval result, some of the pretreatment method of the satellite cloud image was used, and the experiment effect was shown. The basic theory and structure model of satellite cloud image database was studied systematically, and the data model of satellite cloud image database was provided. On the basis of studied the key technology of CBIR, we could obtain the better retrieval result, and the image retrieval result was shown in detail. At last, the application of CBIR method in satellite cloud image has been studied. The experiment result proves that the research and application of content-based satellite cloud image retrieval is valuable, which could improve the image search efficiency more.

Abstract:Along with the rapid development of the internet,do not accurately retrieve the information due to the large amount of image information resources.So the internet based image search engines have emerged.The technology of WebSpider is proposed to locate,search and obtain images.As the foundation of this paper,the content and the Key words based image retrieval methods are analyzed and compared.In addition,the problems of their applications in image retrieval are discussed.Therefore,the combined strategy of these two methods is proposed for retrieval.The experimental results show that this image retrieval strategy can achieve image location and retrieval,and the retrieval accuracy outperforms other traditional image search engines.

Abstract:With the development of Internet technology and the popularity of digital devices, Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) has been quickly developed and applied in various fields related to computer vision and artificial intelligence. Currently, it is possible to retrieve related images effectively and efficiently from a large scale database with an input image. In the past ten years, great efforts have been made for new theories and models of CBIR and many effective CBIR algorithms have been established. In this paper, we present a survey on the fast developments and applications of CBIR theories and algorithms during the period from 2009 to 2019. We mainly review the technological developments from the viewpoint of image representation and database search. We further summarize the practical applications of CBIR in the fields of fashion image retrieval, person re-identification, e-commerce product retrieval, remote sensing image retrieval and trademark image retrieval. Finally, we discuss the future research directions of CBIR with the challenge of big data and the utilization of deep learning techniques.

Abstract:One of the most challenging research issues in content-based image retrieval(CBIR) is how to bridge the significant semantic gap between the low-level image features and the high-level semantic concepts.The well-known solutions are relevance feedback and regions of interest(ROIs) detection;however both are subjective and time-consuming.We propose the visual information is a new feature that can objectively interpret the high-level concepts and effectively reduce the semantic gap in image retrieval.We also make a survey on the research progresses and key technologies of visual perception.The research issues of image retrieval based on visual perception are introduced as well from four aspects:ROIs detection,image segmentation,relevance feedback and personalized retrieval.
