Abstract:A real-time image compression system based on JPEG2000 image compression standard will be presented for high resolution CCD camera. This paper will give the scheme of real-time high resolution image compression formed by image segmentation and parallel compression using multiple ADV212s. The test results show that this resolution is feasible and effective for the given processing system.

Abstract:A video compress and transmission system for UAV was designed.TMS320C2812 was used for controlling the system,integrative image sensor OV7620 was used for acquisition of image signal and digital disposition,the CMOS chip ADV612 is used for wavelet of the image signal.The compress and conversion transmission of the data transform field were completed by CPLD and DSP.The VHF numeric broadcasting station was used for the wireless transmission of image.The data was sent to computer for image manipulation after decoding by ground station.The system had less time delay,and owned Real-time,it satisfied the needs of engineering.The improvement was proposed for the least zero tree configuration in SPHIT,a simple and feasible method for dividing was given.Digital simulation was carried out in Matlab environment,it concluded that the improvement had better effect by comparing with the two Algorithms.

The experimental result indicates that this system works well and meets the requirement of high-speed and real-time processing of remote sensing image compression system. Abstract:This paper focuses on the issue of CCD remote sensing image compression. Compared with other images, CCD remote sensing image data is characterized with high speed and high quantized bits. A high speed CCD image compression system is proposed based on ADV212 chip. The system is mainly composed of three devices: FPGA, SRAM and ADV212. In this system, SRAM plays the role of data buffer, ADV212 focuses on data compression and the FPGA is used for image storage and interface bus control. Finally, a system platform is designed to test the performance of compression. Test results show that the proposed scheme can satisfy the real-time processing requirement and there is no obvious difference between the sourced image and the compressed image in respect of image quality.

Abstract:The design of a high resolution digital surveillance system is built, and the key techniques involved and implemented way are discussed. Abstract:In order to compress real-time and storage in local position for SAR images,a system for SAR image real-time compression and de-speckle is designed and implemented based on FPGA and ADV212,using enhance Lee filtering in space domain.Test results show that SAR images with largely data can be compressed by system while reducing the speckle and coding streams of JPEG2000 can be generated.The design can meet the real-time and the requirements,which compression mode and ratio can be selected.The design also can detect target and monitor region.

Abstract:The antenna must point to the mapping zones steadily and precisely when either airborne SAR(synthetic aperture radar)or star-borne SAR imaging.However the flying stance and direction always be infected by the atmosphere movement which results in random angle variation such as the drift,roll and pitch movement,it can not satisfy the requirement of radar antenna stability.Therefore,the errors caused by angle movement must be compensated to achieve high resolution radar images.A digital controlling system with DSP chip TMS320F2812 is presented that can make reverse movement to the control platform when plane position changes so that radar antenna can point to the mapping zone.Experiment analysis shows the system has good controlling performance and can satisfy the systematic requirement.

Abstract:Focus on the image compressing problem of unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) with high input pixel rate,high compression ratio,low algorithm complexity,and fixed output-bandwidth requirements,a high-performance image sequence compressing system for UAV based on ADV202+DSP+FPGA was proposed in this paper.The ADV202 in the system was used to serve as the main compressing chip to implement the high efficiency JPEG2000 codec to frame-groups.The DSP was used to divide image sequences into frame-groups firstly.And the motion estimate and compensation were carried out in per frame-group by DSP to improve the compression performance.The configuration of ADV202 and the control of data flow were implemented by FPGA.The experiment results show that this system has the advantages of high compression ratio,fast compression rate,low power consumption,and high stability,which will make it have good prospect in engineer.

Abstract:According to the characteristics of the remote sensing images,a compression system based on the JPEG2000 standard is designed and realized while some relevant designs and optimizations are performed to its quantizer and encoder for the purpose of improving the compression quality.For the quantizer,both the step size and the dead-zone width are adjusted to more suitable values for the remote sensing images.And for the encoder,two weighting methods of the rate-distortion slope are proposed.The experimental results show that this system well realizes the compression of remote sensing images and the proposed algorithms are better than the primary JPEG2000 standard,with the peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR) improved about 0.5～1.0 dB at 16 compression ratio.

Abstract:By using the single-chip JPEG2000 codec (ADV212), a real-time compression system is presented for high resolution image,which contains large amount of data. This system can adjust the compression rate adaptively in accordance with input data rate. The real-time JPEG2000 code stream is generated and encrypted. And then, the encrypted code stream can either be trans- mitted directly or stored in the system. Experimental results show that the proposed coding system satisfies real-time requirement, and the reconstructed image has good visual quality and excellent Peak Signal-to-Noise Rate (PSNR).

Abstract:Image compressor in aerospace application is susceptible to single event effect, causing encoder logic errors and system errors. Therefore, the image compressor in aerospace application must be specially designed to improve the reliability of image information. Compression efficiency of JPEG-LS is higher than JPEG2000 and compression effect is better than lossless JPEG. Especially, JPEG-LS algorithm has the characteristics of low complexity and easy hardware implementation, which will save hardware resources of spaceborne system. An image compressor based on lossless JPEG-LS algorithm is designed in this paper, which can correctly compress 512×512 8-bit wide grayscale images. It is hardened by three-mode redundancy, Hamming code, timeout detection, one-hot code, and inter-process independently. The results point out that the error rate caused by SEU is significantly reduced 19.48% using the hardened compressor in this paper.

Abstract:Aerial Remote Sensing (Aerial RS) image compression & transmission on-board system, not only is the core of Aerial RS supervising, but also the key technology about the security of data obtainment.The requirement of Aerial RS is stricter on the data quality and security. If we transmit the images through some special channels while the images are obtained during the task of Aerial RS, the control center on the ground could acquire the status of the whole Aerial RS system. Besides, it could also backup the images immediately. Image compression & transmission system is the important bridge between the Aerial RS system on-board and the control center.The research group of Aerial RS data processing in Peking University, integrates all the necessary technologies including compression algorithm & hardware, integration of function modules, protocol of data packing & unpacking.The research group has developed an efficient compression method that has been optimized both in software structures and hardware architecture. Considering with the narrow space on the airplane, the research group has designed the compression & transmission function module which is installed on the motherboard of the Aerial RS control system. The compression program is compiled in the Code Composer Studio (CCS) development environment, and then the result file compiled is burned into the DSP chip on the module.This paper also introduces an efficient protocol designed by the research group, which can ensure the accuracy of the transmission. It ensures the control center can rebuild & unpack the packages correctly, and avoid fatal errors caused by some false frames and packages during the transmission.This data compression & transmission system, which has been tested in certain different places in China, has achieved the purpose expected.

Abstract:This study introduced techniques and approaches capable of achieving a real-time JPEG2000,compressing system using DSPs chips.This system performs compression of 1392×1040 pixels monochrome images with the speed of 10 fps/camera of 4 digital still cameras.Among several modules in JPEG2000 encoder,the lifting algorithm for discrete wavelet transform(DWT) and the embedded block coding with optimized truncation(EBCOT) comprise more than 85% of the encoding complexity.Thus,it is very important to design and optimize these two modules in order to increase the performance of the hardware implementation.We propose a five-DSP real-time parallel processing system using a high efficient memory management for DWT and parallel-pass architecture for EBCOT.The experimental results show that the lifting scheme using the proposed memory management scheme performs over two times faster than that of the old lifting method.

Abstract:A hardware parallel image compression system was designed according to the special requirements of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)for image compression in low delay and high speed coding.A compression algorithm based on the wavelet analysis theory combined with zero-run-length coding index Columbus was designed for source coding techniques.In the algorithm,the wavelet analysis was applied to remove the redundancy of pixels,and the optimal quantization was introduced to remove the redundancy of pixel probability by zero-run-length encoding and exponential Columbus.The proposed algorithm was realized in a Field Programming Gate Array(PFGA)by a designed mode of the parallel processing,which makes the image sample,transformation and the coding of the each wavelet offspring coefficient executed in synchronization.Experimental results show that this compression system can satisfy four pieces of high resolution images with a resolution of 2 048pixel×2 048pixel×12bit,and the capacity of data throughput achieves 280Mpixel/s.Moreover,image codec propagation delay is less than 100ms for the format of 1 024pixel×768pixel.

Abstract:A video compression and decompression system based on JPEG2000 compression standard is designed to meet the demands of high real -time and narrow wireless channel. JPEG2000 compression is achieved by the specific chip ADV202 in this system and it has such characteristic as high real-time in the narrow channel. By using FPGA to skip pixels and by configuring ADV202 to skip fields, the system can adopt a low compression ratio to meet the demand of narrow channel, and improve video decompression quality.

Abstract:This paper researched the JPEG2000 Standard and its single-chip hardware implement ADV212 ,and analyses the architecture and operation principle of ADV212.Then,a design of hardware system of Still Image Compression based on ADV212 and FPGA is proposed, in which USB is used to input and output image data, FPGA is used to control all the timing signals and to organize the style of code stream,ADV212 is used to implement discrete wavelet transform and to pack the compressed code stream. Finally, we use this system to compress international standard image lena.bmp, experimental results reveals that the system can work well and can be used to real application of still image compression.
