Stressors,Teaching Efficacy,and Burnout Among Secondary School Teachers

Abstract:The relationships among teachers' occupational stressors,teaching efficacy,and burnout were investigated with a sample of 728 Chinese secondary school teachers.The results showed that teachers with a higher level of stress reported suffering less burnout than those with a lower level of stress,and vice versa.In addition,general teaching efficacy partially mediated the impact of occupational stressors on emotional exhaustion and cynicism;personal teaching efficacy fully mediated the relationship between occupational stressors and reduced accomplishment,and partially mediated the influence of occupational stressors on cynicism.
