Abstract:Objective Cloning and structure analysis of Valosin-containing protein(VCP) cDNA.Methods Based on the amino acid sequence of having known the fraction of chick ATPase p97 primers were designed.The cDNA of VCP was obtained from a chick newborn retinal cDNA library,and cDNA was used for database analysis.Results A cDNA clone with a length of 2 916 base pairs was isolated.The sequence analysis showed that the cDNA contains an open reading frame with 2 421 bp encoding a 806 amino acid protein.Analysis of public databases revealed that the molecule showed the highest homology to human and mouse VCP.VCP is a member of AAA family proteins and share the conserved ATP binding domain.Conclusion VCP has been deposited in GenBank under accession number AB195711.The present results would be valuable in analyzing function of VCP at both nucleotide and protein levels.

Cloning and Sequencing of the Full-length cDNA of Chick VCP
