Abstract:Level of service is a kind of quality criterion, which is used to describe the operating conditions in traffic flow and the feelings of drivers' and passengers'. According to the empirical method, percent time spent following and average travel speed are regarded as the grade indicators to level of service for two-lane highways, although this approach lacks the powerful data explanation. It is discovered that the overtaking ratio can reflect the driver's freedom and the interference conditions among vehicles in traffic flow. By simulation approach, this article plotted relation curve between the V/C and overtaking ratio, then divided level of service of two-lane highways into four grades according to the characters of overtaking behaviors, and determined the numeric area for percent time spent following and average travel speed of each grade, which would provide reference for revision of highway capacity manual and engineering practices.

Abstract:This study established the highway intersection safety maintenance evaluation system from the demand of highway safety maintenance management. Focusing on the characteristics of intersection safety maintenance evaluation, qualitative and quantitative data collecting methods are put forward and the relative weight of each evaluation object is obtained by employing an optimization algorithm of AHP. Finally, the rationality of the model is verified by the relativity between experts' scoring and calculated value and the intersection safety maintenance quality is divided into four levels.

Abstract:Having analyzed the characteristics of the traffic accidents and the factors influenced the road traffic safety,some objective indexes reflected the number and severity of the traffic accidents were chosen.Based on these indexes,the weights of them were determined by the analytic hierarchy process—the least square distance method.An index system contained the quantitative indexes for road traffic safety evaluation was suggested.Considering the drawbacks of some generally used evaluation approaches,a new approach which analyzed the vector of the statistics was proposed for road traffic safety evaluation on the basis of projection theory.Finally,a comprehensive evaluation of the road traffic safety condition in China was given on the basis of the approach.The evaluation results could be directly sorted.

Abstract:Aiming at the geological features of highway engineering in mountainous area of Enshi, Hubei Province, the principles to set up an integrated evaluation system for highway engineering geological hazard are formulated. Then, the integrated evaluation system for highway engineering geological hazard in mountainous area of Enshi is established. In the evaluation system, the first-level evaluation indices are geological development degree, geological conditions, and damaging power, whereas the second-level indices including key factors affecting main kinds of geological hazard. Meanwhile, the borders of indices are determined. At last, the method of Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation (FCE) is adopted to quantitatively evaluate the highway engineering geological hazard in mountainous area of Enshi.

Abstract:Vehicle bumping at bridge-head seriously affects traveling comfort and safety on the high-grade highway.It greatly reduces the operational efficiency of high-grade highways and the overall level of service.At present,there is no feasible index or way to evaluate the impact of vehicle bumping at bridge-head on driving safety.In order to solve this problem,the paper presents evaluation indexes of the impact of vehicle bumping at bridge-head on driving safety from the point of view of basic element of road and environment which impacts driving safety,and the evaluation model is established based on analytical hierarchy process and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method.The paper also presents the evaluation indexes and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model of the impact of vehicle bumping at bridge-head on driving safety.By the analytic hierarchical process method,the weights of the evaluation indexes were then determined,with the three rating evaluation aggregate parameters well founded.Finally,evaluation system of vehicle bumping at bridge-head on driving safety is developed based on MATLAB software.And for the sake of the convenience of users,we use the function of GUI of MATLAB and the evaluation system is used in typical practical engineering for assessment.The result is in line with the actual situation,and it has very good referential value to sovle the problem of driving safety at bridge-head.It provides an evaluation method of vehicle bumping at bridge-head on driving safety and has a good effect on application.

Abstract:In this paper, based on the attribute mathematics, we build urban traffic level of service evaluation model which the traffic management oriented in the urban traffic. This model synthesized considered the indexes value of attribute measure in the judgement systems, and used attribute recognition approach to resolve some problems that the level of service in urban traffic. The model can offer the decision basis for Urban traffic management. Especially this approach has achieved quite successful application to the practical problem of estimation the level of service.

Abstract:To evaluate highway traffic operation conditions, this paper researches and applies the highway traffic index. Data were used from the I-880N highway with location 401240 in California, United States. Cross correlation analysis was applied to divide the highway traffic state. Then k-means clustering and quest decision tree model were used to determine the specific value of highway traffic index. Results show that highway traffic index is divided into five levels: smooth, basic smooth, mild congestion, moderate congestion, and severe congestion. The five levels are quantified as (0-2), (2-4), (4-6), (6-8), and (8-10); the division threshold of traffic density at each level is 21.93, 34.82, 41.09, 58.00, and 75.35pcu/mile/lane respectively; color classifications are green, light green, light yellow, yellow, and red; real-time release and release cycle selected based on actual situation. This study establishes a highway traffic index system and provides a theoretical basis for follow-up application.

Abstract:On the basis of summarizing and analyzing the relevant researches in China and foreign countries, this paper carries out the study on comprehensive evaluation index system of low carbon road transport which mainly adopts the Fuzzy Evaluation method with Analytic Hierarchy Process and Delphi. The factors of low carbon road transport are divided into three categories, including road infrastructure, road traffic, road management and related policies and regulations, in which the factors that have an important impact on low carbon road transport development are chosen and analyzed. And then the chosen factors turn into the evaluation index, through the judgment matrix, fuzzy weight vector of each index is calculated and examined by the consistency test. Finally, index coefficients of each layer are obtained. In the case study part, we found out that the low carbon traffic structure development of Shanghai road network is 0.5478, which is between “good” and “general”.

Abstract:To promote the development of green and low-carbon expressway construction, an evaluation index system and associated evaluation method for the construction of green and low-carbon expressways suitable for multiple bridges and tunnels is proposed. The evaluation index system was created from three layers: the goal layer, the criterion layer, and the indicator layer. The criterion layer includes 4 first-level indices and the indicator layer includes 18 second-level indices. The weight of each index in the criterion layer and indicator layer is determined using the improved analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method, and green and low-carbon expressway construction is then graded using the gray fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method combined quantitative indices with qualitative indices. The method with the selected indices is then verified in a case study on the Huangling-Yan'an Expressway, with the evaluation grade being "Excellent" and the evaluation value being 9.1255. The proposed evaluation method can provide theoretical and practical guidance for effective evaluation for green and low-carbon expressway construction.

Abstract:Highway is a part of transportation, which has the characteristics of wide radiation range and long distance. As an artificial landscape, it has a great impact on the ecological environment along the line. According to the impact of Expressway on the ecological environment along the line, this paper constructs the evaluation index system of ecological security of Expressway in mountainous areas. By using 3S technology, using remote sensing data, terrain data and other data, combined with analytic hierarchy process and spatial multi-criteria model, the risk assessment of road disasters is carried out. This study explores the space-time characteristics and risk assessment of highway ecological security, which can objectively and truly carry out pre-disaster early warning, post-disaster auxiliary rescue and disaster damage assessment, and provide effective support for the formulation and implementation of road disaster emergency response and rescue plan.

Abstract:In view of the facts that the previous landscape evaluation studies did not make a clear distinction between urban arterial roads and collector roads, which merely focused on the "universal" evaluation criteria such as road greening and social factors, this study takes South Furong Road and South Shaoshan Road in Changsha as the research object concerning the dynamic variation of urban arterial roads' service quality impacts. Based on the traditional evaluation model, the "unique" influencing factors such as the road engineering quality and transporting efficiency have been introduced. Thus, an assessment method based on AHP-landscape (analytic hierarchy process for landscape evaluation) comprehensive evaluation index has been proposed. The results show the index of comprehensive landscape evaluation for South Furong Road, B1+B2=7.306, M1+M2=81.18%, belonging to level IV, namely a nice and decent landscape, while the index of South Shaoshan South Road, B1+B2=6.715, M1+M2=74.61%, belonging to level III. It concludes that the road landscape quality of South Furong Road is significantly better than that of South Shaoshan Road. Compared with traditional methods, the current results are more comprehensive and reasonable, which makes up the inadequacy of neglecting frequent fluctuation on the urban arterial roads' service quality with urban development, roads operation, and maintenance. This method can provide theoretical support for the optimization of urban arterial road landscape schemes and promotion of the landscape maintenance assisted by investment and policy, which can ultimately realize the virtuous circle and coordination of aesthetics, economic cost, and functional utility under long-term operating conditions.

Abstract:The service level of a road is an indicator which measures the traffic flow operating condition and service quality experienced by drivers and passengers. In the present study, the service level classification and evaluation of Beijing urban expressway, China were established on the basis of three parameters of traffic flow. As a result of the interference of the external environment, some abnormal data existed in the raw data and so the multivariate quality control method and the time-related method were used initially to screen and recover them. Next the service level classification was set up on the basis of the Delphi method and the semi-supervised clustering method, and finally a BP neural network was used to evaluate the service level. This study of the service level of Beijing urban expressway, China provides a scientific basis for traffic management and plays an important role in the traffic decision-making.

Abstract:Provincial highway safety is one of the most important issues in transportation. To evaluate or assess the safety performance of provincial highway, traffic crash analysis or traffic conflict analysis has been used for a long history. However, it is very difficult and time-consuming to obtain historical crash data or traffic conflict data. This study analyzes the provincial highways' accident data during 2006–2010, and the characteristics of provincial highway have been investigated; in addition the influencing elements are identified. A comprehensive approach is introduced to evaluate provincial highway safety performance and corresponding models are developed considering the accidents, geometrics, facilities, and traffic environment. The approach will also result in a safety index to indicate the safety performance level of the provincial highway. In this paper, the approach (called safety evaluation approach) is practically applied to evaluate the safety performance of some provincial highways in Hebei Province. Results from the real application indicate that the approach has good applicability and can be used by field safety engineers.

Abstract:In order to evaluate the highway maintenance enterprise synthetically and quantificationally, a safety evaluation indicator is established according to the impact conservation production safety factors in this paper. It can help the conservation and management departments to keep abreast of the conservation highway enterprise safety production dynamic and make the targeted safety measures. Lee scale is designed for expert scoring. Analytic hierarchy process is adopted to select it. The indicator weights are ensured by AHP so as to establish highway maintenance safety production comprehensive evaluation system. By verifying the evaluating cases, this method can effectively improve the effectiveness and accuracy of the highway safety production. It has great significance for accelerating highway maintance safety management system.

Abstract:A scientific evaluation index system for intelligent transportation system (ITS) can play an important role in guiding the development of ITS for decision makers in smart communities. This study aims to develop a set of performance indicators for the effective evaluation of the transportation system in a smart community in China. The main goals of the developed evaluation index are determined after a careful review of the various index systems implemented by various agencies worldwide. A set of indicators divided into the following six categories are then presented: transport structure, traffic information service, traffic efficiency, traffic safety, energy and pollution reduction, and social inclusion. To further discuss the practical application of the index system, a number of indicators are defined in detail and applied in arterial and public transportation efficiency evaluations based on the available dataset. Results from the index calculation show that the index proposed in this study can be adopted in evaluating the transportation system performance in smart communities based on big data.

Abstract:To promote the green and resilient development of urban transportation and the sustainable development of cities, we developed a technique that can be used to evaluate the level of urban green transportation development. First, the toughness evaluation indexes were integrated according to the connotation requirements of green transportation development, and the evaluation index system was constructed using the hierarchical analysis method. Second, subjective and objective weighting methods, such as the G1, entropy weighting, and "addition" integration methods, which provide a simple and easy-to-use evaluation method that can improve evaluation accuracy, were adopted. Finally, Harbin, a typical city in the north, was chosen as a representative city to verify the method effectiveness. The study findings can be used to evaluate the current level of green development of a city as well as for future planning, providing a basis for formulating sustainable urban transportation development strategies. We will continue to conduct comparative studies on different evaluation methods and cities to improve the generalizability of the method.

Abstract:Based on the data of the construction industry in Henan Province, China, from 2005 to 2020 , the high-quality development level of the construction industry in Henan Province is measure d . Firstly, this paper constructs the indicator system based on the high-quality development theory and the charac teristic of the construction industry from seven dimensions: industrial scale, industrial efficiency, industrial benefits, industrial innovation, industrial risk, industrial potential, and the green development of the construction industry. Secondly, using the global principal component analysis (PCA) method to measure the high-quality development level. Thirdly, cluster analysis is applied to measure the relative changes of various dimensions in different stages. The results show that overall the high-quality development level of the construction industry in Henan province is increasing, but different indicators perform differently in various stages, and the changes in real estate policies have a significant impact on this. Finally, based on these findings, we think it is better to reduce real estate dependence, promote the application of new materials and technologies and maintain the stability of real estate policies.
