Compared Local Multimodal Analgesic Drugs Injection to Patient-controlled Analgesia after DHS Surgery

Abstract:Objective To study the efficacy of peri-incisional injection with multimodal analgesic drugs in DHS operation for intertrochanteric fractures.Methods 60 patients undergoing DHS operation were randomized to two groups,30 patients received peri-incisional injection of multimodal analgesic drugs intraoperative,and others not.Pain of patients was evaluated with a visual analog scale postoperatively,and all patients received patient-controlled analgesia for 24 hours after surgery.The consumption of patient-controlled analgesia was recorded at different time-points.Results Compared to the control group,the patients of injected group had significantly lower visual analog scores for pain in the post-anesthetic-care unit and four hours after surgery,and they used significantly less patient-controlled analgesia at 6 hours、12 hours,and over the first 24 hours after surgery.VAS of rest pain of injected group at postoperative 2 h,6 h,10 h,12 h,24 h,36 h,48 h was significantly lower than the control group,and VAS of movement pain of injected group at postoperative 24 h,36 h,48 h was significantly lower than the control group.No adverse effects resulted from the multimodal analgesic drugs were noted in the injected group.Conclusion Peri-incisional injection of multimodal analgesic drugs in DHS operation can significantly reduce the postoperative pain of patients and the consumption of patient-controlled analgesia.
